Lifetime Access Redefined Without Notice or Consent

I purchased The Star Candidate Program from The Career Diet based on their clear marketing promise of “lifetime access.” However, in June 2025, the company confirmed that the program was sunset in April 2025, and all future course updates have been cut off for legacy students.

The only content available is a static version from April 2025. Access now requires registering on a completely new platform—which was not part of the original purchase—and the company reserves the right to revoke or alter access again in the future.

When I raised my concerns through the BBB, I received deflections, vague answers, and a final statement that sidestepped accountability. Only after multiple escalations did they finally confirm that legacy students will not receive updates and must accept reduced access.

This is a clear bait-and-switch. “Lifetime access” has been redefined unilaterally, without consent, notice, or compensation. I have declined to register under the new conditions and will not be doing business with The Career Diet again.

If you are considering this program, be aware that what you’re promised today may not be honored tomorrow.
