We have a rescue long-haired chihuahua. When we got him he was very sick and needed life saving surgery. Fast forward to now (3yrs) and he is having tummy issues again. Have taken him to vet twice and Doctor is thinking his shunt again so we had decided to change his diet to just see what happens (he was on dry kibble) and we have been on Farmer’s Dog for about 10 days and we have already seen an improvement in energy-attitude and hunger. Casey is my go to girl at Farmer’s Dog and she gives me updates on shipment, She is always there for me and she is a “real” person not some automated reply. I have found my forever dog food for my fur babies (I have 2) and I could not be happier. If you thinking at all of changing your food please give Farmer’s Dog a try, I promise you will not be disappointed!!

Muffin loves the fresh food. It's easy to feed him, and it makes me happy knowing Muffin is healthier. He has much more energy, and he can't wait to eat his food.

When I received my fur baby's meals, they arrived unfrozen (completely thawed out). I contacted customer service from the "Farmers Dog" and was very satisfied with our interaction. The representative was polite, knowledgeable, and very professional. She represented the company well. While we were still conversing, she had another box on the way, with the company's apologies and no extra cost for me. It is not common to have this level of customer service these days...thank you The Farmer's Dog!

" i unexpectedly landed in the hospital. The friend who looked after my little dog, Avery, retrieved her plastic container from my fridge. she also took an extra packet from the freezer in case i was away longer. She had fed her former dog The Farmers Dog so she knew how it all worked. Avery got exactly the same meals, same amount, same supplements and vitamins while i was gone . this was very important to me because of her being on a specialized diet for weight loss and because of her ongoing recovery from a serious illness. i was not concerned about her nutrition at all. Our dog, Sam, was diagnosed with IBD at 6 months old. For several years we tried many different dog foods to try to get him feeling well. He would have an episode and it would often last days putting him in pain from constipation. We tried everything imaginable and nothing worked. Many vet visits, even a colonoscopy! Then the Farmers Dog came around. I figured ‘what do I got to loose? Might as well give it a try”. The results were astonishing. Sam loved the food and went from having an episode at least once a week to having one about every 3 months. This was a game changer! The Farmers Dog Company was so caring and kind. Their customer service is truly the best I’ve come across ever in my lifetime! They even answer texts. Their food is as ‘clean eating’ as you could get and I have no doubt that it prolonged Sam’s life by years. We recently had to put Sam over the rainbow and The Farmers Dog sent a beautiful plant in memory of him. Thank you to every single person that works at The Farmers Dog. You made a difference in Sam’s life and ours!!

I delayed an order initially because I didn't have the money, when I forgot about it and got a surprise email saying I had been billed and it was on the way i panicked hard. My Account balance was already uncomfortablly low and needed moeny for my flight the next day- so I sent an email asking if there was anyway to delay the shipment for a refund and this company did just that. Refunded and just asked if i could share the food, that was already set to arrive the next couple days, to other people maybe interested in Farmers Dog.
I can't tell you how much this meant to me. Already struggling they helped me when I needed it most.
I will 100% be returning to Farmers Dog when I can. My dog LOVED the food as well and would recommend to everyone

I wanted to share my experience with The Farmer’s Dog. I had high hopes, but a mix of logistics issues and poor communication really soured it for me.
My shipments were set to arrive bi-weekly. According to their orders page, new shipments are supposed to arrive when you have about two days of food left. That didn’t happen. I ran out of food completely for my two dogs, had to go out and buy backup food, and it messed up their stomachs badly. Then, once the Farmer’s Dog shipment finally came, transitioning back to it gave them diarrhea so bad they ended up soiling their beds.
When I first signed up, I answered all the questions about my dogs to set their food and calorie goals. I didn’t know how much they were eating before, but Farmer’s Dog recommended around 900 calories daily, a little less for the smaller one. These are large dogs, pit bull mixes, 70 lbs and 100 lbs. Even before starting this food, our vet had mentioned they could lose a few pounds. So I figured Farmer’s Dog knew what they were doing and went with their recommendations.
I started to notice my dogs slimming down, and while I had a brief moment of concern that they might be getting a little too thin, I still trusted the system. Eventually, they had a routine vet appointment to update their shots, and the vet was shocked at how much weight they had lost. Since I’m with them all day, I didn’t notice the decline was that drastic, but apparently it was. The vet said they should be getting around 1,600 calories daily, and a bit less for the smaller dog. I was unknowingly underfeeding them for months.
I reached out to customer service when our second shipment was about to be late, and I brought this up. They sent me a link to an article that basically shifted the blame onto me, saying I should have taken the dogs to the vet to monitor how they were doing on the new food. That was never made clear when signing up. Nothing in the first shipment or in my profile ever suggested that was something I needed to do.
Food quality: 9 out of 10
Customer service and reliability: 0 out of 10
Overall rating: 2 out of 10. The food might be great, but the support, transparency, and logistics made this a stressful and potentially harmful experience.
Update:
The Farmer's Dog has since contacted me, apologized for the issues, and issued a full refund. While the initial experience was frustrating, I appreciate their quick response and effort to make things right.
Updated Overall Rating and Conclusion:
Food quality: 9 out of 10
Customer service & reliability: 0/10 initially, but the follow-up was 10/10
Overall rating: 7 out of 10.
While the initial experience was very poor, the company has since contacted me, apologized, and issued a refund for the delayed box.
The support and transparency were lacking at the time, but their follow-up was excellent.

I started using The Farmer’s Dog in April after my boyfriend recommended it—he’s been using it for his goldendoodle and swore by it. I have a 9-year-old Maltipoo who used to eat dry kibble, but he was never excited about mealtime. He’d nibble a little, walk away, and graze throughout the day. He was also slightly overweight according to our vet, and I had started to feel fatty lumps under his stomach.
Since switching to The Farmer’s Dog, the difference has been incredible! He now lives for mealtime—jumping, spinning, and running around with excitement as soon as he hears the food come out. He eats every single bite right away.
Even more importantly, he’s lost 7 pounds and is at a much healthier weight. He has more energy, is playful, and seems genuinely happier. He used to struggle to jump on the bed, and now he hops right up on high furniture with no problem.
The food is fresh, the price is great for the quality, and the results speak for themselves. I can’t recommend The Farmer’s Dog enough. It’s changed my dog’s life—and mine too!
Our Shug is 11 years young, thriving, and finally excited about mealtime thanks to the Farmer's Dog! For years, we battled picky eating, skipped meals, and frequent belly issues. Since switching to TheFarmer's Dog, she hasn’t just eaten—she’s thrived. No more throwing up, no more turning her nose up at kibble… just a happy, healthy girl living her best senior dog life. The transition from kibble to REAL food could not have been easier and the people at Farmer's Dog are available 24/7! This was the absolute best change for our favorite child!

Tuesday 22nd July.
The work lads and I decided to go for a 200 mile round road trip. First to the farm shop. firstly Huge que. We qued up for 20min before seeing people walk threw the que to the bar at the back. Not being overly bothered with the shop we did the same. Wow cracking beer . First larger. Not to my tast. But go with the experience. Next the sech. Ok but nothing special. Third up ipa . Much better . Forth up hawkstone black. Wow what a stout. Gutted I can't buy some to take home as selling out fast. Bacon and egg cob. But pricey but good quality food. So worth the £10.
Next up farmers dog. Still a fantastic experience. Even bigger que. But more stout for us. Worth the weight.
The experience was fantastic.
The shop i did go in this time. Reasonable prices.
Hops and chops . Well a big let down . I had hoped for the same quality products I had that day.
Every thing I bought was fresh that days package. But that's where the good stops.
Bacon realy thin. £8 for a pack and tasteless .
Burgers £8 for 4 ok it was high meat contact but all gristle. Every bite I got cartilage and stuff I dent think off.
Sausage. Chilli and mustard . Wow ok best Sausage I have ever had. Realy good quality.
Pork pie. Ok but nothing special. In all honesty if I go back it will not be for the butchers . But just the experience and the hawkstone black.
The people are polite and responsive, the product is excellent and I am grateful for the increased health and energy in my dog. Highly recommended
This company has really impressed me. They stay in contact with shipments & check on how our dogs are doing. Always there to help. My dog loves their food. He didn’t eat vegs before but he loves them now. The food is so fresh & appealing to the dogs.

If I could give a 0 I would. I don't know how to say other than, know the facts from your own vet nutritionist and DVM before even contemplating giving your furbaby TFD. As many said generated AI responses. When you ask to speak to someone in the nutrition dept you get auto response every time the same and I quote "Our food is nutrient dense that is why the caloric content is so low." Recently my vet became concerned that my boy was losing weight and had been on TFD for almost a year. Mind you, I have been inquiring since he started the food on the calories being provided to him at 699 kcal for a 64.7 pound APT. After the visit with the vet, I again contacted them and got the proverbial response. So I went to Wagmo where I have a wellness plan now and spoke with VetTalk Vet Tech and she looked into my furboy's size, age, etc. Said he should be receiving 1638 kcal to maintain his weight. Then again emailed TFD and asked someone to contact me via email providing all the information VT provided me. Only after I provided them with the information from VT they then replied, "Oh it looks like he needs to be bumped up to 1063 kcal per day." To me this company is after the money not the health and well-being of your furbaby. I then received an email from the DVM from VetTalk who confirmed my baby was on far too little calories to maintain his weight. Mind you I started questioning things the day he got his food and the package looked exactly like the size my girlfriend who has her 15 pound Dach on who is overweight and continued questioning TFD with the same responses but thought well maybe they know better than I do. Trust your gut, consult with a Vet nutritionist/DVM on the correct calorie count needed for your particular situation and furbaby. If your vet does not handle nutrition like my in person vet does, check out Wagmo wellness plan and connect with VetTalk. They have probably saved my boys life. On top of all that, their packaging is poor and 3 orders I received had holes in the boxes and I was told not to use them, and they would send a new box. Everything was still frozen, so why the need to send new? I just wanted them to know they needed to package in a different way. I am done with TFD. I will pray for anyone who uses this food for their furbabies. I also do not want a response to my review from TFD. Thanks! Update: my girlfriend who referred me to the farmers dog just had to take her dog to the emergency veterinary and she was diagnosed with pancreatitis and it cost her $1200!!! She has also now canceled her plan. Be very careful people!

My goodness where do I start? The camaraderie that the staff has with the doggie parents is amazing. I have a lot of contact with Melissa and I love her. She is so good to reach out to me in so many ways to make sure that I am having everything I need for my sweet canine children. There is always satisfaction guaranteed. They received just the amount that they need and farmers dog always make sure that they get plenty of their favorite bags. Turkey is their favorite and if I tell you the truth, don’t tell anyone, I like the turkey better too. I always tell everyone I won’t put anything in my dog’s mouth that I couldn’t put in my own mouth first. Some people think I’m crazy but it’s the truth and I love the turkey and vegetables. Keep the fantastic work going farmers stuff and Melissa. Thank you for helping and doing all that you do for this company.

Finally… a dog food my picky Yorkie actually loves (and thrives on)!
I have a 6-year-old Silky/Yorkie Terrier who is the pickiest eater on the planet. Over the years, I’ve tried countless brands, treats, and even breed-specific formulas—only for them to be ignored, cause upset stomachs, or go straight to waste. The only thing he’d consistently eat was a very specific type of ham (which I know isn’t great for him).
So when I came across The Farmer’s Dog trial, I figured, why not? The box arrived frozen with simple feeding instructions and convenient packaging. At first, he gave it the usual sniff-and-walk-away. But 20 minutes later… he came back, chose the new food over his regular, and actually ate it!
I braced for the usual aftermath: diarrhea, vomiting, goopy eyes, or general belly issues. But to my absolute shock—none of that happened. His stools were solid, his eyes stayed clear, and best of all, he kept eating it day after day. This dog used to need hand-feeding or food served on the floor just to eat. Now? He finishes his meals, has more energy, and is genuinely more playful.
After all the trial and error, wasted money, and stomach issues, I can confidently say The Farmer’s Dog is the only food that’s worked. No tummy troubles, no weird ingredients—just real food he enjoys and that I can feel good about feeding him.
Thank you, Farmer’s Dog, for finally giving my picky pup something healthy he actually loves.

We are now three shipments into Lily eating the farmers dog. It was a very good decision to have made for her. She is happier has more energy and really gets excited and does the food dance before I feed her. She is happier and when Lily is happy, my world is all in order. I have had a couple of acquaintances comment on the price of the food.. the way I look at it is the price is worth it for the fact that I haven’t had to take her to the vet for any intestinal issues since I started her on this food. That makes it more than worthwhile. This is a great choice and you couldn’t do a better thing for your four legged babies. One of the best decisions I have made.

Titan’s food arrived partially thawed and I was super worried—but Farmer’s Dog handled it like champs. They responded quickly, apologized sincerely, and had a fresh replacement box in the works within hours. No hoops to jump through, no hassle.
They even shared a backup recipe in case Titan needed a homemade meal while we waited. That level of thoughtfulness? You don’t get that everywhere.
Mistakes happen—but how a company handles it matters. Farmer’s Dog went above and beyond, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Titan’s happy, healthy, and well-fed—and I’m sticking with them for the long haul!

I reached out to customer service after my dog suddenly refused to eat one of The Farmer's Dog recipes. I wasn’t looking for a refund right away — I just wanted to know if something had changed. Instead of addressing my concern directly, I was repeatedly steered toward buying a different recipe.
I also asked a simple question: why did they ask for a photo of the packaging if typing the info worked? This was dodged more than once. I eventually had to push for a refund, which felt like an afterthought.
The whole experience felt scripted and sales-driven, not supportive. I’ve since canceled my subscription. I might return one day, but only if the focus shifts back to honest, responsive customer care.

I received Bug and Bell about 2months ago. When I got them, they had itchy skin, dull coats and really bad gas. After 2 months of The Farmers dog, their coats are so shiny that people tell me they look like velvet. They no longer have gas, and they can't wait to eat.
