The Floor Room staff at John Lewis Cheadle very helpful but seemed short of information from TFR headquarters.
Some material did not arrive on the scheduled day which delayed the installation, was extremely inconvenient and had a serios knock on effects.
TFR staff at JL tried hard but were unable to get information about reason for delay or to advise revised schedule,
TFR complaints department TOTALLY USELESS.
Missing goods eventually turned up surprising everyone.
Floor was fitted by Mike who did a fantastic job. Very skilled and a perfectionist. Mike was also very persistent and helpful in tracking down missing materials, and kept us informed.
End result excellent, but TFR headquarters really need to improve their systems, organisation, and communications.

Ordered carpet 27thFeb2024 1/2week del.phone call next day not in stock 6weeks del. email received fitting date for 9th April phone call 2.30pm day before carpet not in. 3pm same day new fitting date 30th April Received an email todayat5pm with a new fitting date 20th May. No personally contact whatever is going on? 3 months wait I cannot put into words How I am feeling. I will be demanding my money Back and have to start looking elsewhere.

We had a booked home appointment with Alan from the floor room today. He was very professional and friendly. Alan made great efforts and took time to ask us what our preferences of carpet/wood flooring were. He helped to talk us through the options but gave space for us to decide.
I will definitely be going ahead with the floor room quote and Alan’s visit has played a big part in that decision. Thank you Alan!

The most complicated carpet I have ever bought. Communication from the shop floor poor. Paperwork confusing. The estimator however was BRILLIANT 🤩.

The whole procedure was very poorly organised. When our bedroom door did not close properly, my complaint was ignored:
- the Sales Advisor was inexperienced and her estimate for the fitter’s work costs were over £50 short of their final charge
- the surveyor took no notice of our comment that the doors were hollow and put in the disclaimer that the “customer trims door prior to fitting”
- the fitters did a fine job, working to their instructions from the Floor Room. However, when they left, they told us to contact them if there was a problem. When we did, they were very put out and refused to come back to fix a problem with the door closure
- Andrew from the Floor Room did not come back to me after talking through my complaint with me and my suggestion that a thinner piece of underlay be fitted just by the door.
I found an old piece of underlay that enabled the door to be closed and fitted it myself.

In store, there was initial confusion regarding providing me with requested samples of carpet I was interested in. The sales person I was dealing with told me he was unable to order the samples but would phone me with further information. He did not do this. Eventually, after a few days, I phoned the number on the company website and was immediately sent the samples I requested. I don't understand why the sales person in the shop wasn't able to pick up the phone and do the same thing! It would have saved me time and concern. I almost went with a different company.
On the positive side, the woman, Amy, who came to my house to measure the room for the carpet I ordered, was excellent. She was punctual, pleasant and extremely helpful.
