Lady who served was exceptionally knowledgeable in every product. She gave us the pros and cons based on our requirements. Made us feel comfortable and no hard sale. She listened to our requirements and showed us products based on this. She is asset to company. Weldone young lady. 5* in all aspects and cannot fault you in anything. Very happy customer.

If I could give this company zero stars, I would. The whole experience was a disaster from start to finish. We only used this company because they were inside John Lewis, one of our favourite stores, and we trusted their judgement and reputation. After ordering a real wood floor, we had to pay the whole amount up front through a web link. We got a fitting date of Monday 18 March and by noon of that day, nobody had turned up and The Floor Room weren't returning our calls. I spoke directly to the fitter and he told me that The Floor Room had not bothered to pass on this date, but he managed to move jobs to fit ours in on Thursday and Friday of that week. The Floor Room called us on the Wednesday to tell us the flooring hadn't even been delivered to the warehouse and there was no date for fitting. After speaking to the fitter again, I was told that this sort of thing was happening constantly and he'd got so fed up that he had quit John Lewis after decades of service. With no fitter and no flooring for the foreseeable future, our trust in this company to deliver what we'd asked for had evaporated, so we cancelled our order and demanded our money be refunded in full. This is great shame as it is damaging the reputation of John Lewis. The only positive outcome is that we got our money back quickly. The Floor Room gave us the worst service we'd ever experienced, taking our money straight away then giving us a fitting date before the flooring had even arrived, which is simply ridiculous. If you are looking for a new floor please PLEASE look elsewhere.

The staff at JL Nottingham (Parul and Ian) with whom we chose and ordered our carpet were well-informed and helpful. The follow-up visit for measuring the room and advising on the removal of the carpet was excellent - including recommending the best way to cut and remove carpet and prepare the room for the new flooring. Our booking for fitting was made by phone with JL, and the appointment confirmed by email, with the promise that the fitter would call me on the day before (or the day of the fitting?) However no-one phoned, and no fitter arrived. After a couple of hours I called JL and reported that I was still waiting for the fitter to arrive and could they advise me what was happening and when. Josh, who had had no prior involvement with our order, listened carefully and said he would look into the situation. I called back a couple of hours later when he told me of his efforts in the intervening time. The fitter who had apparently been give the job was based in North London and knew nothing of the appointment. Josh had therefore been ringing round any fitters who lived and worked rather closer to Nottingham. He had found three options, one of whom could possibly do the work later that day, and the other two of whom were not available until the following week at the earliest. Having emptied the room of furniture, removed our own flooring, and repainted in readiness, we were not prepared to wait another week. But, thanks to Josh, the day was saved and Peter, a local fitter, turned up early in the afternoon to complete the job. He and his assistant did an excellent job and we were immensely grateful to them, and to Josh for saving the day. In short, all of the human contact that we had was very good. We are also pleased with the carpet and underlay. Unfortunately there are aspects of the administration of the service offered by the Floor Room which meant that our experience was more stressful on the day than we would have expected!
