Sailing in Egypt.

By contacting Globsaylor, we got exactly what we were looking for: a charter in Egypt, on a sailing yacht at a very attractive price. The company's staff was very polite and provided constant feedback. All requests were satisfied and all questions were answered in a timely manner. We are very grateful for the service provided. The most valuable thing is that this company gives you the opportunity to rent a yacht anywhere in the world and at any time.

After canceling our sailing cruise by the charter company.

After canceling our sailing cruise, we were in a very difficult situation. 11 people had booked a flight to Palma de Mallorca, but we didn't have a sailing boat, which we reserved. Many sailing agents tried to resolve our problem but only Miss Nathalia from Globe-Sailor was working hard to find a boat for us and lead the negotiation on our behalf us for a good price. Everything finished well, we signed a new contract and chartered a new boat. Thank you, Nathalia.

Excellent experience every time

Our journey to Greek Isles

Our journey was memorable, with 11 friends from across the globe meeting up in Athens for a 1 week cruise on a Charter Catamaran. The service received from Sam was responsive and professional. I dealt with him and GlobeSailor on behalf of all my friends. Wherever he could not help, he referred onwards to the Charterer Margeo Yachts.

Woeful Sam

As soon as you pay your money, you have to beg for information. Sam is oh so self important. He thinks the customer is doing him a favour.
The finer details of the hire are supposed to be top secret.
Book directly with MarGeo yachts. They’re great.

I could not respond to the response, hence I am editing my initial review. There were 11 people on the cruise. Attempts at assistance and further information was always answered by - just check the website or ask Mr Chetty. Why could Sam not be courteous and answer simply. The information relayed was patchy and unsubstantial. We were going in almost blind. MarGeo turned this negative sentiment around marvellously and made the experience an amazing one. Not everyone submits reviews and I speak authentically when I say many of my mates share my sentiments.

Sam at Globesailor sourced a bespoke Catamaran for us via MarGeo. We were 11 friends who wanted to sail a week. From the booking, payment and service with meeting the staff of MarGeo and crew , it went well. This was our first experience. We were kept informed by Sam and where he couldn't advise, passed onto Margeo"

No help when needed

We rented a boat with ASC Yachting Gomar in Croatia through GLOBE SAILOR, for a duration of 4 weeks.

The boat was a Bavaria 32 foot from 2004, but even though it wasn’t new, we didn’t mind as long as it was well kept and all the equipment was on board and working, like Globe Sailor advertised.
Unfortunately it wasn’t. Not at all…

The list of broken stuff on the boat includes: VHF radio, Auto pilot, wind meter, speed meter, batteries and one of the cabins was soaking wet after a rainy night.
Even our clothes was ruined due to poor black materials used with the teak tree in the cockpit.
We paid nearly 6.000 Euros for this.

I tried explaining all of this to the owner but he really didn’t care a bit about us as customers.

We spent half a day in one marina fixing the batteries and tried two other marinas for the VHF radio with no luck. The owner probably thought we could spend our entire trip in different marinas of his choosing to fix some of the things that was broken.

I confronted him with this several times but he was just rude.

At the end of the trip I made a claim for a discount of 25% of our trip since so many things was broken. This time we met in person on a restaurant at the marina, and all he did was looking down at his phone or his empty beer glass, while interrupting me as much he could in my explanation. Not really looking at me at any point.

Afterwards I contacted Globe Sailor who also told me that this was why I should book with them and not directly. They would start investigating. And I was hopeful.

I received a few emails afterwards from Stephanie, basically forwarding what the Croatian owner of our boat was writing. He suddenly came up with a lie that we had ruined the engine of the boat and that it had cost them 2.000 Euros. A BIG lie and no proof of course.

After this, Stephanie confirmed that the case was closed but she wanted to grant me a discount of 150€ for our next rental 🤣

My conclusion to this is, that the only reason to use Globe Sailor is, if you want to spend some extra money on renting a boat. If things go sideways they don’t have your back anyways.

The other 4 and 5 star reviews in here must be those that did not run into any problems.

We are very sorry to hear that the service you received did not meet your expectations. We know this can be frustrating, and our customers deserve the best.
Your comments are important to us as they help us to constantly improve our services, as well as those of the rental companies we work with such as the operator in question who is family-owned business with whom we work for more than 10 years now. For the moment their reviews did not alert about any problems.

We have followed up in a timely manner and did our best to find common ground between yourself and the local operator.

At the beginning of the charter the local operator as assigned you a skipper, upon your request, for half a day to train you and show you certain things that are important to know about.

On your arrival at the island Murter you have reported that the batteries and the wind indicator were not good.
The local operator has immediately organized a service for you at the Hramina marina and both batteries were replaced, although they were still under warranty.

You were given a manual wind indicator, so you did not have to wait, which was completely satisfactory according to the base.
During heavy rain, which happens only once every four weeks, the mattress in the aft cabin was wet – and it is what you have reported to The operator ASC Gomar.

The local operator wanted to come to Skradin to handle the issue, but you have reported that it was not necessary and that you will continue to sail.
You have also informed the operator that the radio station is not working properly and the operator had organized a service check in Rogoznica, but the info we got from the base is that you’ve notified them that you do not have the time for that. Radio station is working.
The operator has reported that the Autopilot too is working, but it's on the steering wheel and moves a bit.
The operator has informed us that for each time when they were informed about assistance, they have we immediately reached out and solved it or wanted to resolve it.

Upon your arrival back to the base the operator informed that you have indeed asked for a 25% discount which was not approved by the base.
However, the base has also informed you and GlobeSailor about a 2.000 EUR in damage caused due to inexperience and poor handling of the yacht and the engine that is only two years old, had to be repaired. You have indicated that there is no proof of this, please note that we have asked for the invoice for the repair made and we have sent you the invoice, we kindly ask you to check your recent emails.

The contract the governs the terms and conditions (including the ones that talk about refunds) of your charter was the one signed with the local operator. Again, we have tried to help to find a common ground where and when it was in our power.
I need to remind you that you have booked a boat that is 18 years old, therefore it is not to be expected that the boat will be in an immaculate condition, and the fact it is an older boat but still a seaworthy vessel is also reflected in the price you have paid for this charter. A discount was provided by GlobeSailor to make this charter happen for you, as well.

After your claim was rejected by the operator, and because we value you as our client, GlobeSailor has offered you a commercial gesture, and offered a store credit for your next sailing holiday, which you have declined.
We would like to point out that your statement about having spent extra money for this charter because you booked via GlobeSailor agency is simply not true. In fact, we initially provided you with a special GlobeSailor discount to ensure your sailing holiday could take place.
