In our busy day-to-day lives, more people are finding it difficult to take time off to see their GP or have to wait on average up to 10 working days to see a GP. We at The GP service provide an Online Doctor service to help diagnose and treat common conditions using our on-line consultation platform. Our aim is to provide a safe, discreet and easy journey for patients who are looking for private medical treatment at their convenience and at a cost that people can afford. Our system allows patients to consult with qualified Doctors with a consultation via online assessment questionnaires or through secure video chat. They can then choose to collect their treatment from any Pharmacy registered with our service. The service also allows Doctors at their sole discretion to provide prescriptions where appropriate as well as referral letters and fit notes. For full details and charges, please refer to our Terms and Conditions on this site.

Complete fraud. Once you put in your card details, they withdraw more than the amount quoted. The website doesn’t work and you can’t get through to the doctor. No chance for refund if that’s the case.

Took my payment but no doctor turned up.Have been waiting on the phone for 12 minutes so far but no one answers. This outfit may well be a scam.
The medication that I was prescribed was not for the condition that I had been diagnosed with during the consultation. I didn't know this until I had collected and paid for it and then looked up what it was suitable for. In fact, one of the side effects was that it can cause the illness that I had, so was completely wrong.
I then had to wait another 2 days to get an appointment with my own GP to get the correct medication and pay for another prescription.
I have written to the GP Service to complain but have had no response so will refer to the GMC.
Excellent Service
Quick and very Thorough
Dr Eddie was thorough and professional throughout my consultation. I am very happy either way The GP Service.
Thank You

I used this service earlier this year as I needed to be seen by a GP and was satisfied with the service at the time. However, my recent experience (October 2025) was very disappointing. The booking site clearly stated “Talk to a Doctor” and “See a Doctor,” so it was reasonable to expect a consultation with a qualified GP. However, the person I saw was not a GP - I was informed after the consultation had ended and I queried the notes provided that the person that I saw was a a clinical team member. I booked an appointment with a GP, not a clinical team member or prescriber.
The website’s claims that all doctors are registered with the UK GMC make this particularly misleading, and the booking process should clearly indicate who patients will actually be consulting with.
Also, the consultation notes they provided contained no actionable advice or follow-up plan, merely restating what I had already mentioned. I was expecting medical guidance and next steps, as I had this from them earlier in the year, but not this time! Service has gone downhill!
To make matters worse, the company has not replied to my follow-up/complaint emails for nearly two weeks. I have since used another online GP service that provided a much higher standard of care and ensured that consultations were conducted by registered doctors.
Offered same advice as a pharmacist and advised me to see my GP (which I didnt do as I needed an urgent response). Told me to take painkillers (which Im already doing)!!

Very polite. Helpful. Listen to your own symptoms and happy to look into the medication you’re happy taking.

Very poor systems. They didn’t even know which of their partner pharmacies sent my first prescription which created problems on their portal.

Extended time between obtaining medical consent/issuing prescription and receiving delivery. Lack of full transparency as to the cause. Prescription only partially delivered

Updated Review
I’ve decided to update my original review. My first post was written out of anger and disappointment, and while this updated version still reflects some of that disappointment, I’ve now had the chance to properly investigate what went wrong and what was (and wasn’t) within the company’s control.
After looking into the delivery of my prescription, I learned that it goes through a third-party pharmacy, which in turn uses Royal Mail 24-hour tracked delivery. This is disappointing, as I would expect a premium private prescription service to use a courier option, but since this decision is made by the pharmacy and not the GP service itself, I can’t fairly criticise the GP side for the delivery method.
Where my main concerns now lie is with the support system. In my experience, the initial process of signing up, diagnosis, and getting medication prescribed was very smooth and fast. However, once something goes wrong, support becomes much harder to access. Responses via WhatsApp or email typically take 24 hours, which is far from ideal if an issue arises with something as important as prescription medication.
Unfortunately, in my case, there was also an error with my address. Part of the address kept disappearing from their system, which caused problems with my delivery. Despite trying to update it myself, the system kept reverting it back. I would have expected better infrastructure and a higher level of accuracy for a service at this price point.
On the cost side, my prescription was around £170 for two medications (for PTSD and anxiety). While this is cheaper than some of my other private prescriptions (for example, ADHD medication at around £120 for just one item), the expectation for premium customer service is understandably higher when paying these kinds of prices.
I also experienced some confusion when two different doctors gave contradictory advice about the same prescription. While this comes down to medical judgement and may vary from doctor to doctor, it did add to my sense of uncertainty.
To be fair, the doctors and nursing staff I interacted with were professional and supportive. The core medical service itself is strong. My disappointment is mainly with the support and administration side, where errors, delays, and lack of clarity can cause unnecessary stress.
In summary:
• The initial sign-up and prescribing process is fast and efficient.
• Delivery is handled by the pharmacy, not the GP service. Currently, it is Royal Mail 24-hour, which I feel is not ideal for high-value, controlled medications.
• Support is slow to respond once you’re past the initial setup, and administrative errors (such as address details) can cause real problems.
• The medical team itself is good, but the support system needs improvement.
I do need to apologise for my initial review, which was harsher and less informed. This updated version reflects a more factual and balanced perspective.
Update:
Yes, you are correct—this is a Treat-It service. However, it was billed to me through the GP service, which is yours. When the Trustpilot review option appeared, it also came via your link and branding. This indicates an administrative issue: although my treatment is with Treat-It Clinic, everything is being processed through The Gp Service , including billing and review requests. That suggests there’s a deeper structural problem within your company’s systems.
