I have to say that communication in quote stage was a little sparce, however the mandarin interpreters that were provided for our event - James and Jane - were fantastic. They were very professional and with changes that we had onsite, they were able to adapt with ease.I would definitely recommend the services of the Language Room again!

Every father knows that one day his daughter will find a partner, fly the nest, and get married. Every father also wishes his daughter the best of luck and worries about her finding the right man, one that will make her happy, and look after her.
In my daughter’s case she chose to marry a Frenchman. That meant that apart from preparing my Father of the Bride speech and tackling all other related responsibilities (and expenses), I had to consider how my speech and those of our French guests would be understood by a crowd of approximately 150 people, the vast majority of whom were not bilingual in French and English.
I therefore took a calculated risk and decided that rather than subject our guests to lengthy dual language speeches (and my wonderful schoolboy French), I would try and find somebody who could help us with a simultaneous translation service to make life easy for everyone’s ears and comprehension on this very special day.

Whilst such simultaneous translation services are traditional used at business and government conferences, providing such a service at a Scottish wedding is rare.

My search for a suitable service provider led me to The Language Room, who could not have been more helpful and supportive in taking up the wedding challenge. Thanks to the tremendous planning support from Elodie and the most outstanding translation service provided on the day by Océane Couchez and her supporting A.V. technician Derek, the wedding speeches and their reception by our guests were a roaring success.

I would have no hesitation in recommending The Language Room for translation services and would strongly encourage any families planning an international wedding, where English may not be the common language understood by all, to seriously consider simultaneous translation to make their special day all the more special for everyone attending.

Our day would not have been as successful as it was were it not for the help and support received from The Language Room. I can honestly say, it was the best wedding I have ever attended, but then again, as Father of the Bride, I have the right to be biased!
