I had purchased the book and the online bundles which I was happy to pay for a month ago. I have now been charged $152 and on top of that another $46 for a “monthly subscription”. Nearly $200 for 1 month!?! I was unaware of any subscriptions, I didn’t sign up for anything. I emailed the help centre and they claimed I signed up and are not giving me any refunds. I’ve changed my card now but definitely a SCAM!!!!

I purchased a book from Lasting Change with genuine enthusiasm, as the company presents itself as operating in the field of personal growth. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be deeply disappointing and, in my opinion, seriously unethical.
During the purchase process, the website presents a sequence of pages with additional offers and optional services. I consciously declined every extra. Despite this, I ended up with an app subscription that I never requested. The checkbox for activating the subscription was already pre-selected.
Below the app image, the word “FREE” appears, and just above it “1 month free trial,” without clearly or explicitly stating that once the trial period ends, the subscription automatically renews for a fee. The communication is ambiguous and structured in a way that easily misleads the customer.
The book itself arrived only after two months, as the company had entered an incorrect shipping address. Reading numerous reviews on Trustpilot, I discovered that many customers report identical issues: unauthorized subscriptions and incorrect addresses. This strongly suggests a recurring operational pattern rather than isolated incidents.
I contacted customer support multiple times, clearly stating that I was not requesting a refund for the book, but exclusively for the subscription that was never authorized. The company refused to refund the subscription, repeatedly hiding behind the Terms and Conditions and stating that digital products are non-refundable, without addressing the core issue of an unauthorized activation.
The final response I received was a generic: “Thank you for taking the time and sharing your feedback with us.”
A response that feels ironic and inappropriate after weeks of correspondence and a legitimate refund request being denied.
From a company that sells personal growth material, I would expect ethics, transparency, and accountability. What I experienced instead were aggressive commercial practices, unclear communication, and a complete refusal to take responsibility.
My trust has been entirely undermined.
I strongly advise anyone considering a purchase to pay close attention to every step of the checkout process.
In my experience, this represents a profoundly unfair commercial practice.

I just purchased the book, nothing else and I was charged $99.99 and $30.99 twice which I never authorized and there is no link to cancel “a Subscription I never authorized

They con you into a subscription to an app, then refuse to provide a refund. Beware.

Do NOT purchase from this company!! Even if you don’t sign up for their app, they still will charge your card and refuse to refund you for the unauthorized charge!

If you go to the Better Business Bureau you’ll find many bad reviews because they are indeed scamming many. People on here are correct. This company is stating they are selling a book but then you will be unknowingly charged 30.99 per month for an app you will not know anything about. They refuse to refund you. Thankfully PayPal gave me a credit/refund but please file a dispute if you paid through PayPal because they need to see your disputes and they can most likely put a stop to this before more people get scammed. Also, the FB page is based in Lithuania. People have commented to complain all over the page but you can’t see the comments (just that there are 10 total comments etc) but these scammers just delete all the comments.

I read the negative reviews on Trust Pilot and was sure I would not get caught by the hidden subscription fee, and yet it still happened to me. I reached out to their customer service on the same day I was charged (today), having never accessed the account I am apparently paying for, and they doubled down refusing to correct the error; having lost nothing. I find this very deceptive and it has left a bad taste in my mouth. I can’t even get excited about the $80 I had already spent on the hard copy book. It’s ironic that a company which advertises itself as helping its customers to make a positive change is basically trying to rip them off.

I’m sharing my experience so others don’t get caught off guard. Lasting Change offers what appears to be a “free month of membership,” but they hide the fact that they will begin charging you monthly many months afterward. Canceling is extremely difficult because the subscription isn’t set up through any normal or transparent subscription service.
I provided proof that I only purchased their book last January 2025–receipts and all. Despite that, they began charging me around $30 per month starting in September without my knowledge or consent. When I contacted them, they refused to refund any of the charges.
In my experience, this Lithuanian‑based company relies on aggressive advertising (put a LC book in your cart and see how low they will reduce the price if you don’t buy right away) and questionable business practices. I strongly recommend avoiding them so you don’t end up in the same situation.

I love the perfect flow of the process. The questions were straight to the heart with no fluffing about. I can't wait to begin.

If I could give zero stars I would. Awful experience with this company. It’s a scam, and the customer service is the worst I’ve ever dealt with. For the book I didn’t receive the preferences I signed up for, I received the preferences I made sure not to sign up for, therefore they don’t take time to personalize it for your experience, other than stamping your name on the cover.
Also, there is lack of transparency regaring recurring subscription payments. The app doesn’t give you a way to cancel the subscription before your renewal date. There is no cancel option anywhere. My trial renewed on a Monday and I tried to cancel the Friday before but couldn’t find the option. So I reached out to customer care but my message wouldn’t go through because they were closed for the weekend. They responded on Monday morning after the trial renewed and I was charged $30, but they won’t reverse the charge and won’t tell me how I was supposed to cancel when there is no cancel button and the office is closed all weekend.
I guess I was expected to know that they purposely left the option off of the app, and seems like they expected me to email them on Thursday which would mean that I only had 3 or 4 days to try the app and make a decision before the weekend.
Don’t waste your money on this scummy company

Absolute scam. DO NOT PURCHASE.
All comments are turned off on Instagram and Facebook, and they’ve so far taken almost $100 extra from my account before I realised and thankfully my bank contacted me.
I should have known when I was charged instantly after adding my card details before I’d even put in my address details. Taking money before I’d even officially confirmed a purchase.
Dodgy AF, will be reporting to the ACCC.

Hidden subscription fees that are NOT clearly outlined during purchase ( despite them pretending it is) making it incredibly hard to cancel and refuse refunds. I would NOT recommend this to anyone. It is a scam and they are just capitalizing on people seeking help. It is absolutely disgusting.

Hidden Subscription Fees
I was charged $30.99 12 minutes ago, immediately requested a refund and got a generic response declining the request. TOTAL SCAM
"As per our Terms and Conditions, which are presented during the checkout process, all sales of digital products and subscriptions are final and non-refundable unless there is a technical fault on our end. Missed cancellations or unwanted subscriptions do not qualify for a refund."
