Scam artists

Scam artists. Arrived to a show in Leeds which had been cancelled due to high winds - fair enough I had missed the email though unfortunate i’d travelled from a different town.

We could either transfer our ticket to the following day for the next event or one in york. Neither were suitable date wise so we were told to ring up the box office for a refund. I gave rang the box office 14 times. No one ever answers and then there is a siren sound and the call disconnects.

I have also emailed their company with no reply. Clearly don’t want to lose money with refunds and re ignoring me. Will never buy tickets again and will make sure to comment on their social media indefinitely about my experience.

Waste of money at £45 pp

Waste of money at £45 pp, go to London theatre instead!
Uncomfortable seats and hot tent.
Average acting, case was boring, seemed like a budget high school production. Would not recommend !

An immersive experience

An immersive experience, the set up of the venue and the stage space were immaculate and the staff were approachable and helpful.

DON’T MISS THIS

Went to the matinee show yesterday in Sutton Coldfield travelling up from Bristol. It was certainly worth the journey. The actors and whole team are superb, professional and welcoming. We had a a great afternoon. The trial is authentic and the experience unique and fun. Enjoyed every minute. Will definitely book for next year in Bristol.
The only negative was the cost of parking, £15, which we pre-paid, only to find there was plenty of free parking available.

Tips:Entertaining but needs polish

Tips:
High tea isn't worth anywhere near the cost - take your own snacks.

It's a long show so definitely take cushions for the hard blue plastic fold-up chairs.

Drinks are average show prices.

Defence barrister convincing, amusing and professionally acted - the judge was weak, the prosecution barrister hammed it up too much and the defendant's performance was delivered without enthusiasm and in the guise of a very bored football manager during a post-match interview.

Don't pay £11 for parking when streets nearby are free.

Wear sensible shoes ! It’s in a field in a tent ! I’m giving this a generous 3 stars…

I’m giving this a generous 3 stars because I did enjoy the “high tea”

However I was expecting a proper building so imagine my surprise upon arrival at a field wearing my party dress and 4 inch heels. To navigate the terrain I ended up walking bare foot. Because the venue is a blow up tent with signs advising uneven floor - yet not one email (among the 9 I’d received after booking advising me of the £15 car parking fee !) not once was the uneven floor mentioned.

I feel duped I was led to believe it was at a rugby club not a blow up tent in the middle of a field. Tickets were £70 this included the high tea which I did enjoy. The tables were 4 foot by 2 foot (so made for 4 people) and had 12 people crammed around them.

It’s not something I would do again as I found it really boring (but that’s my issue as my friend really got into it and loved the trial part)

Nothing can beat the genuine feeling this gives

Brilliant acting by the barristers, witnesses and accused. This has given me a realistic feeling of being in a courtroom overseeing a genuine case. After being chosen to be my tables jury foreperson, I honestly have developed a passion to learning about jury work and would 100% recommend this extraordinary and amazingly unique event to others all across the nation

Very disappointing

Very disappointing, could definitely have been better. The tickets stated that the event started at 18.00, but it was over an hour before it actually started.
We were warned that taking a cushion was advisable so we did, but they were still very uncomfortable especially as we had to wait so long for the start, not ideal for those with bad backs to knees.
Having portaloos - fine, it’s difficult to get plumbing in a blow up arena but they could have ensured that the loos were clean and had water to wash hands.
The prices were definitely inflated for what we got. We paid £30 for our seats and the view was fine, no different to anyone else’s just further back, not a problem. I don’t think the front seats were worth £60!
As for it being a ‘fully immersive and interactive’ event - it’s not. The ‘trial’ was basic and had potential but was somewhat lacking. ‘Deliberation’ took about 10 minutes because there wasn’t much to deliberate.

I think the concept is really good and the cast/crew were great, friendly and helpful, it was just, overall, unsatisfactory and really not worth the £30.

Good idea and experience but issues need addressing

This is such a great idea and, indeed, experience, however it would benefit from some tweaking. The actors and trial itself are excellent, the characters great and the trial suitably shocking. The ‘arena’ that is used is huge (I appreciate they need bums on seats) but noisy, making it impossible to ‘deliberate’ with the other 11 people on your table, only the person next to you. The food is so-so, an overpriced and underwhelming afternoon tea, okay for the matinee I suppose but unsuitable for the evening. We attended the matinee at Lincoln/Newark which, when we booked, was advertised as Lincoln (the main reason we booked, we could have got a lift to and from Lincoln)- after all, Lincoln and Newark are 2 separate places.

Fantastic experience!

What a different, but enjoyable experience! Booked The Murder Trial Live early in 2024. Didn't know what to expect but both me and my daughter had a great time. The actors were very good and the whole day was so much fun, the reason I have given 4 stars rather than 5 is we arrived for the scheduled time of 12pm and were sat around for an hour waiting for the start. Obviously a lot of people who had been before knew this as they didn't arrive until nearer to 1pm, it would have been better if this was made clear on the booking.

Enjoyable Night but beware car park charges

I enjoyed the event, it was well set out and worked well
The drinks were reasonably priced
It did show how difficult it must be for Juries to reach a verdict as on our table we all heard the same evidence but we were almost 50:50
On the negative side, the portaloos were smelly and I felt it was a rip off charging £10 to park there. It was only after buying my ticket did I find this out with an email saying there was no on street parking nearby. In fact there was a car park opposite. For the ticket price I felt asking for another £10 wasn’t fair

Don’t be put off by negative reviews

After reading some of the past negative reviews, I was extremely apprehensive about going at all, but was very pleasantly surprised. The acting was flawless and believable, the staff helpful and obliging. Portaloos were fine, not “disgusting” as previously reported. You do need a cushion, as the chairs are hard plastic and as previously reported it’s all VERY cramped and dark. I don’t know why smoke was being pumped out of the spot lights, it did nothing positive. The ‘High Tea’ was quite expensive for what it was, but nicely presented and good quality including Fortnum and Mason tea bags. We had booked for Friday which was cancelled at very short notice due to the local storm. In the cancellation email we were offered a refund or attending on another date. Also we were given a £20 bar tab each as an apology, which was cheerfully honoured at the bar by showing our cancelled tickets. There were no queues at the bar. The drinks are marked up by at twice their usual bar prices, so take a water bottle in your pocket. We really enjoyed the experience, it was entertaining, thought provoking and educational. We would definitely go again. Thank you

Such a good night! Very VERY talented actors - big fan of Mr Reynolds, extremely convincing. And there’s an opportunity to be foreperson (can it be me please?)

Leeds Matinee

My son and I attended the matinee performance in Leeds today and we had an amazing time. The show was fantastic, really engaging and insightful.

I am disabled and attending the show today was my first time using my wheelchair in public. My son was pushing me and Mark saw my chair and straight away helped us to our seats, moving empty chairs and asking people if they wouldn't mind tucking in to give me room to get through and saw us to our seats. After the show he came straight over to us and said he would help us out of the arena. He asked if we would like our pictures taken with the judge. I was able to walk the short distance but he put his arm out for me to hold on to and walked me over to the judge for pictures. He stayed with us until we had finished and then helped me back into my chair.

He was such a lovely man and made my first outing as a wheelchair user as easy as it could be.

Thank you Mark for all your help today, you made our visit such a positive experience.
