Lovely experience

Amazing venue. Amazing food! We visited and was thoroughly impressed!

For our anniversary, my wife and I recently visited Ely. We spent a lovely 4 nights at The Old Hall and can confirm its reputation as an idyllic family run hotel. The building itself is has been lovingly restored and sits in beautiful grounds, surrounded by country side. It is sited for easy travelling to various places on the visitors trail. Our en-suite room was delightful, with a clear view of Ely cathedral just 2 miles away. All the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. Breakfast choices were plentiful and of good quality. The Orangery restaurant is only open on certain days but we did enjoy a lovely dinner there on our last night. All in all we can highly recommend that you stay here on your visit to Ely. As an aside Oliver Cromwell’s mother was born here when it was a farm house.

I recently purchased an afternoon tea gift voucher online. This was a very easy procedure, but unfortunately a mistake of my own making occurred. l was interrupted while placing my order and didn't realise l had only ordered one instead of two. l rang the hall and explained what l had done and this was quickly sorted by a very pleasant and helpful young lady.

Liked the staff. Liked the way they sorted everyone so military like. Hated the price of their drinks. Captive market. No need to charge £9.00 for 1 pint and a glass of coke.£7.00 for a JD and coke. Disgusting.

I stayed at this Hotel and paid for my stay in the morning at 10.30 am. I was asked to leave the Hotel, I mean leave the premises. The reason given is that they had a wedding. The manager said to me if you don't leave, I will forcibly remove you from the premises. I was treated with disrespect, and the manager was particularly rude. I was not told that I would have to leave the hotel by 10.30/11.00 am the next morning, and I was shocked at the treatment. I recommend that you avoid this Hotel as they do not respect their paying customers.

I just stayed overnight and it was really pleasant indeed..from the staff,amenities,room,kitchen and location..it was all superb and safe.truly worth the price.

Overall, I highly recommend The Old Hall Ely as a wedding venue for any bride and groom who are looking for a truly unforgettable and romantic experience. The venue and its staff truly went above and beyond to make sure that every detail was taken care of and that the bride and groom had the perfect day. I had afternoon tea at the Old Hall and what a lovely experience! The food was delicious and the service was quick and professional. They even accommodated for my two year. I will definitely be booking again. 🥰

Afternoon Tea was superb and the setting in a beautiful garden that showcased both the Fenland surroundings and Ely Cathedral were very apt. A perfect location for an English experience.

beautiful setting and an amazing place to stay. views were great from the gardens, could see the cathedral.
room was just the ticket, bed, u need a ladder to climb into!! spacious bathroom but could do with bubble bath. didn't use shower just sunk into bath but still amazing. Food was to die for at dinner and breakfast was just as good. excellent value for money. staff treated us like friends.

Beautiful venue, with extremely professional and helpful staff. The owners are absolutely lovely too. Our wedding day ran so smoothly with their help. Also a great option to have the wedding party stay at the venue night of.

What a beautiful place The Old Hall Ely is, we stayed with our son and future daughter in law to experience the venue first hand before their wedding. The building is stunning, the gardens breathtaking, the bedrooms exceptional, the food divine, the staff charming nothing too much trouble.
I am confident to recommend it to anyone.

Amazing venue, had my daughters wedding at the old hall in March 2022. Venue was beautiful, but the staff are exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. The bedrooms are incredible and the views over ely and the country side are beautiful. 100% would recommend this venue

This is my fiancé and I's wedding venue and the ability to come to The Old Hall for meals, events and afternoon teas with friends and family before the big day is very special to us. We recently attended the Forks & Fawkes evening which was spectacular. An absolute dream in a gorgeous setting in the front courtyard with a water feature and beautiful lights entwined in the greenery, we had 'smores' kits to make up using the fire pits around us, the most divine mulled wine served to us on arrival, a charcuterie board with baked camembert, olives and other treats such as sparklers and colour changing thing's you put in the fire! Most definitely a night to remember.

I am taking my Mum for the festive afternoon tea next month and we cannot wait.
