Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 50 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed dissatisfaction with the product quality, noting that devices often stopped working shortly after purchase or warranty expiration, sometimes even arriving defective out of the box. People also found the pricing to be too high for the quality received, expecting better durability and longevity from such expensive items. The customer service was frequently criticized for being unhelpful, unresponsive, and for not offering solutions or support, especially when products failed outside the limited warranty period. Conversely, some people were satisfied with the products, praising their power and effectiveness, and highlighting the durability of older models that have lasted for years. A few other people also felt that the customer service was excellent and helpful.

Dead on arrival

After unpacking was completely dead. After overnight charge display indicated 100%. After removal from power adapter display indicated 0%. Completely unusable. Do you have any quality control at the factory? Going to replace it but with a different brand.

I ordered a theragun elite

I ordered a theragun elite. It arrived and I plugged it in to charge. After several hours it showed full charge so I unplugged it, it wouldn’t turn on…no charge. I plugged in and tried again…showed charge. Unplugged it, no charge. This was right out of the box. I contacted them…followed all directions about returning it. Several weeks pass…no refund. I contact them, person says yes I can confirm the return and will work on your refund! I followed every step…this is not a company I would recommend to anyone.

No warranty customer service fraud!

The plastic collar on my Theragun 4 cracked within the warranty period. They do not have a customer service number so I tried to leave a msg on their support line. No answer for a week now. Also tried chat. It says Miguel will be right with you and never is. I waited a hour on their chat before giving up. Do not buy from them. They must be going out of business

Absolutely shocking customer service…

Absolutely shocking customer service from Therabody. I ordered a Theragun but DPD left my parcel outside my front door in broad daylight and it was stolen. Therabody provided no option to sign for delivery or leave with a neighbour upon ordering. When I explained my situation to Therabody via their online chat (no customer service phone number as they're based in the USA), Therabody refused to offer a refund or send a replacement. I am now having to claim back through my credit card company which is bitterly disappointing as this is a lengthy process. I will be purchasing a MuscleGun Carbon instead - it won Men's Health "Best Massage Gun 2023" and is far more reasonably priced. Wouldn't go near Therabody with a barge pole.

Broke after three years

Broke after three years. Now a £500 brick. Therabody refuse to replace or repair it. Such an awful company and a lump of plastic that will survive for thousands of years.

Appaling Customer Service

I ordered the Elite model in Germany beginning of December as X-mas present and was promptly notified that the product is ready to be shipped. After a week or so, the status was still 'waiting to be picked up by carrier' and I contacted the support line a first time. A few email exchanges followed and when it became apparent that the product would not reach me before X-mas (status still 'Waiting to be picked up ...'), I contacted the hotline again to cancel the order. This was instantly confirmed. Next, I got an email confirmation that somebody had returned the package to the warehouse (sent to a wrong address?? - the help line denied but could not explain who the person is that returned it to the warehouse??) and it is now ready to be dispatched. I confirmed again by email that I had already cancelled. Next, the product arrived(??). From that moment, I sent no less than 30 emails between end of December 2022 to mid March 2023 to return this product and get my money back. Various explanations followed why this is not possible at the moment (email problems, system changes, what have you).
Mid-March I decided that I will keep the product as I'm afraid that once I give it our of my hands, I will still chase my money indefinitely.
I like the product, even though it is rather expensive. But I would NEVER buy from that company again. This kind of 'Customer Service' is just not acceptable.
I'm now praying that I have no quality issues with the product that I keep. I would rather forfeit the warranty than to deal with this support helpline again.

Don't buy from them

Don't buy from them. Luckily I ordered my power dots from current body. They stopped working within two days. Wouldn't connect to my phone via bluetooth. Finally got it to connect only for it then to say connect the cables which I had. Wouldn't charge. I sent them back to currentbody, but I had gone to the effort of trying to chat with therabody for about an hour and only getting a reply on live chat 15 minutes after I had sent every single message. Sent proof of purchase which included my work email (which i hadn't actually given them permission to use) and now they won't stop emailing it. I ordered new powerdots elsewhere and they are already (within a week) having issues connecting and I've had to disconnect and reconnect twice. Not great for a £300 product.

Never had a problem with my recovery air or prime though.

Customer service is just appalling. Avoid and purchase something elsewhere or at the very least pay with paypal or a credit card so you can get your money back easily.

Fraud - Do not purchase from this company

Do not purchase from this company. I purchased a Theragun last November, 2022. It's now March 2023 and still no product. I have been emailing their support channel for the last 3 months and only received a response this week...they were very pleasant, hoping I'm having a great day etc...then told me my claim was denied meanign no refund and no product...interesting business model; take a customers money, deliver nothing, then keep the cash. They seem to be repeat offenders...check their Instagram comments.

No More Therabody For My Family!

I have always enjoyed therabody, I have purchased several items in the past. A recent purchase needed to be returned and had never been opened. It took 4 different tries to reach customer service, which can only be done thru chat, they do not respond to email, and their online order return system does not work. It took over 25 minutes on chat only to be told my request for a return would be evaluated and they would let me know in 3-5 business days. I was returning one item out of a order that included several items. I will not buy from them again, God forbid I have a problem with one of the more expensive items, they would never take care of it and make it right.

I used to love Therabody

I used to love Therabody. I currently own 2 Theraguns, a RecoveryAirPro (Gen 2) compression sleeves, and a TheraFace product. They are all wonderful products. Recently though, I have had a problem with my RecoveryAir charger and just need a new cord. I have been trying to contact them since January 2023, no help what so ever. Chatting, no help. Email, no help. Via email, they ask me for order information, etc and I give them all the needed information, (Serial number, order date, email). No response other than a return email that says “we finished you claim rate our customer service.” The claim was NEVER FINISHED. Unfortunately, whatever is happening to this company’s customer service, it is killing their brand. Singed,

STAY AWAY: Incompetent at best, thieves at worst.

Everything about this company is wrong!

I wanted the Theragun PRO and it was out of stock, so I ordered the Theragun Elite and a charger. The charger did not work, and the PRO was back in stock 2 days after I placed my order.

I attempted to communicate with Customer service to initiate a return. They are only available via email, and their responses were inconsistent, confusing and irrelevant. Out of pure frustration I returned both products at my own expense. They confirmed receipt of the return, and I have ‘Proof of Delivery’ from UPS. I am owed a $507 credit which they outright refuse to issue.

I alerted my bank who credited my account for the charge, and initiated an investigation against Therabody. Their Customer Service seems there to issue intermittent ‘lip service’, while the company refuses to issue a credit for the retuned products.

Outrageous and infuriating.

Faulty Theragun still not replaced after nearly 5 weeks waiting.

I bought my Theragun Prime directly from Therabody in November 2022. I was happy with the product and used it extensively for 3 months until it started shutting off without warning despite not having long been fully charged. I contacted Customer Support via the online chat service where I was told that it sounded like the battery was faulty and not holding its charge properly. I was told that they would send out a returns label for me to return it to them for examination and replacement. I received a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) form and shipping label by email a few days later on 1st February this year.
I duly packed up my Theragun and sent it off and received confirmation that they received it on 6th February. This is now nearly 5 weeks ago and in that time I have contacted the company via the online chat service twice and received 3 generic email messages:
"We apologize for our system migration taking longer than expected and causing delays on your [replacement]. Once the system is restored we will gladly give priority to your case. For this reason, we try to send an update every few hours (24-72) to show that you are aware of this."
Then again:
"Thank you for taking the time to contact us. I am more than happy to address any questions or concerns you may have about your replacement.

We know perfectly well that this process was very frustrating due to the system migration, but I can assure you that your replacement has already been requested. Please allow me to send you updates every 24-72. I will be taking care of your case personally."

This is all extremely frustrating given that they have given no estimates of when I can expect my replacement, I have now all but given up and will be seeking a refund which if not immediately forthcoming (as I fully expect) will have to be under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 claiming the money back from the credit card company.
My recommendation is to NOT under any circumstances buy ANYTHING from Therabody direct.

Never buy from them! Item broke after a month

Never buy from them. I bought therface and it stopped working after a month. Thankfully I registered the product and sent it for replacement. It’s been over ) weeks since I’ve mailed the product, and still do not have the replacement.
You would think customer service would be excellent for a product that is expensive.
Don’t buy!

Worst cs experience ever

Theragun is nice, however it is the worst customer service experience ever. I just recommend to anyone to use PayPal as payment method, so in case od a dispute, PayPal can handle resolution and process the refund. Therabody customer service is non-existant.

Poor Customer Service

The customer service team is very unorganised. I have reached out to them about charger attachment (UK plug) and they have agreed to send me a new one. They have asked for my details and ghosted me. Me being confused sent follow up messages, no reply. Then received an email saying I have not responded back. Which was also confusing as I had a conversation with a team member about sending me a new one. After responding back, and waiting, another member messages me saying low stock and discontinued stock, they sent me in useful information on what to buy as a replacement. Also, the other member was dealing with me do not response back to any of my email which makes me think I have given my detail to a scammer.

The customer service is so poor, please save your effort and buy from a different supplier as there are many great ones on the market. I see from other people’s reviews they have experience the same.

Terrible company - avoid

I wish I had read these reviews before buying direct from Therabody; the product might be okay, but as it hasn't arrived I have no idea. Their customer service (as pointed out in other reviews) doesn't exist. The 'chat' is way understaffed, be prepared to wait hours - I waited an hour and then got cut off at no 11 in the queue. Nor do they answers emails. They do however take your money. Just avoid them, I 100% wish I had.
