Despite the many positive reviews this company is untrustworthy

Despite the many positive reviews, you may have read. I have to say dealing with this company is an been an absolute nightmare, they go back on agreed promises they do not deliver.
They have an item in stock posted both on their website and Reverb, but when you purchase it and promptly pay for it, they come back saying ohh it’s not in stock.
Then after you say why isn’t it available, they say oh it is currently with an engineer (this was in originally November 25)with first enquiry.
Finally, after purchasing it in Dec as apparently now in stock, I was awaiting tracking info (no info supplied) The Rock Inn took time to reply to my emails saying that it was not in stock and was being checked by engineer (for your information an engineer would taken max 20 mins to see if a four knob stop box goes on and off and knobs function)
I asked when it would arrive given it was a xmas present and they then said oh apparently their engineers are one and a half hours away from the shop, that he’s now off on holiday for two weeks and it wouldn’t be possible before Christmas.
They then cancelled my order against my direct written wishes, stating in writing they would contact me early in the January when the item was back in stock.
When I asked early in the new year for an update, they purposely ghosted me.
This is the most dis-honest guitar shop I the misfortune to deal with in 20 years of buying musical equipment.
I’ve been forced to contact Consumer Protection Australia who will be investigating this company for sharp practice and dishonesty.
Please be aware before thinking of buying anything from this company (The Rock Inn) Perth.
This is the first time I have ever had to make a formal complaint against any music store i.e The Rock Inn.
Buyer Beware !!

Firstly, I would like to apologize for your experience. You are correct, we certainly got it wrong advertising an item for sale before it had arrived back from our technician (we're human and it happens sometimes).

I was hopeful that once I spotted this and notified you that you would understand the situation and, whilst it's less than ideal and below the level of service we strive to provide, we could get the situation sorted for you, but it seems that this isn't the case and for that, once again, I am sorry.

In regards to the technician's time frame for servicing, I can totally understand your frustration at the wait time for what is seemingly a quick fix, however that does not take into account the queue of work that our technician is trying to get through. He's just one guy and there's lots of amps and pedals needing serviced, not to mention that this all regrettably occurred over the Christmas period when many small businesses like our repairer shut down for an extended period.

I acknowledge that this is not ideal but it's just an unfortunate series of events rather than a campaign to mislead you. I've kept you updated the whole way, as the timeline of your original post here points out.

I mentioned that I was hopeful the pedal would be back early Jan but I wasn't sure exactly, so I issued you a refund so that you would not be without your money whilst waiting given that I didn't have a concrete ETA for you. I'm sorry that this upset you, I was just trying to be helpful and did not mean to cause you such distress.

Again, I only ever want to provide transparent and honest communication with our customers.

Despite all of this, I can assure you that once the pedal is available for sale, you will be the first person I reach out to. We don't always get it right, but in the rare occurrence we do get it wrong, we're happy to own it and try to do what's right by you. This case is no different. I hope to be in touch with an update ASAP!

Guitar shipped without protection

Do not buy a used guitar from them !
They double boxed it which is great but ... there was nothing to avoid the inner box to move. Worst part is there were only 3 small things inside the box. So the guitar, which was not even with bubble wrap, was moving freely inside the box.
I never saw that. How can you ship a guitar like that ?

Wonderful customer focus business

This is the 3rd time i have purchased a guitar from this business. The most recent was for a used one. I keep coming back to them even if they are across the other side of the continent. The reason why is their website with actual photos of the stock you are purchasing and the quality of their customer service. Highly recommend this business if your in the market for a guitar or more.

Fender purchase from The Rock Inn…

I purchased a used Fender that The Rock Inn shipped from Australia to the Philippines. When it arrived I opened the case and found it was in brand new condition. It arrived in perfect condition. I'm very happy with how easy it was to purchase and receive my guitar from The Rock Inn.

My payment was flagged as potentially fraudulent, but the team down there made sure to get into contact immediately, made it easy for me to prove my identity, and got my package on the way as soon as possible.

All good though

The delivery was fine, but the guitar was unplayable. The strings were turned down loose. The brass saddle was laying in the case. I tried to place the saddle and string it up. It has a bad buzz. I will take it to my music shop tomarrow. Will get it checked out. Did not see any visible damage and was going to get a set up done on it anyway. Well had the guitar checked out at Blue Angel Music. The luthier assested the condition of the guitar. the nut was not original and the wrong size, The bridge had been reglued and not done well and the saddle was too low. The truss rod adjustment would not turn and it has some fret issues and also had a slight bow in the top. He said it was not worth spending the money on. trying to repair. Not very happy about this. It would seem someone should have seen some of these issues and not listed this in good condition. Not a good deal for $700.00.

Hey Paul,

Thanks for leaving the review and I'm sorry to hear of your disappointment with this particular guitar. We tune down the strings on guitars for delivery as it helps relieve tension on the neck and reduces the likelihood of damage in transit. Sometimes when a guitar travels a long way, like this one has to you in the USA, it can be in need of a small tweak to the truss rod to get it back playing optimally as it travels by air in lots of varying climates. As for the saddle coming loose, I'm sorry about that, it should just pop back into the slot on the bridge there nice and easy. I'd be more than happy to talk you through any adjustments required to get your guitar playing perfectly for you - just give me an email or a call at the shop and I'll happily assist.
