Avoid buying from this website!

Ordered a record as a birthday present, got an email to say my order was on the way over a month ago. Have tried 3 email addresses, only one replied and they couldn’t help me. Tried calling and it says it’s busy every time. Left messages and comments on instagram and no answers there either. Literally impossible to get a hold of somebody who can help. Avoid buying from this website at all costs.

Sold us a warped record

Sold us a warped record . Purchased as a gift, recipient (myself) was unable to open it until return home in February 2025. After the initial contact, in which I was assured of a replacement; follow-up stated a replacement was out of the question. Many emails to customer service, all with same response, "Sorry, notification beyond the 30 Day return window". Absolutely no consideration given to the fact that I was not able to receive my gift until February, nor the fact that, regardless of notification, THE RECORD WAS WARPED when sealed and sold as a damaged product. Save yourself the hassle - shop elsewhere for your vinyl - unless you enjoy constant dissatisfaction and warped records.

Your response is worth nothing. You failed at providing an undamaged product and cling to your non-compromising return policy when it was clearly stated that, as a GIFT, it was not presented to me for playing until 2 months after my daughter bought it for me. I will never shop with The Sound of Vinyl US, nor will anyone I have described this issue to. Furthermore, the cover was in excellent condition, meaning that the warped record was knowingly packaged and sealed as damaged. I stress that anyone considering purchasing from The Sound of Vinyl US read their on-line reviews here and elsewhere. i am not alone in my dissatisfaction.

Ummm...then why are you, a customer service rep at The Sound of Vinyl UK dealing with my review? Where is the response from your US counterpart, hmmm?

2 months and still no shipment

I placed an order over 2 months ago. The order still has not shipped even though I have several emails claiming it was getting ready to ship. Now I am just getting the run around and the latest execute us a “production delay”. They are unwilling to explain what this even means and the 3 records I ordered have been available in their site ever since I ordered them.

After purchasing on their UK storefront the confirmation e-mail led me to a completely different (shopify) store and a fraudulent e-mail. It’s been weeks and my order has still not been shipped. Great dropshipping operation these guys have going but I will be disputing the charges.

What a joke

What a joke. I've bought from them in the past and besides a long wait I received my records. In December they had the 50% off sale so I bought a bunch records. They continued to cancel items but I still had quite a few waiting to ship at a great deal. I continued to wait. Followed up by email and kept getting there was a technical glitch with my order. After two plus months I just wanted my money back. I had to go through the credit card company. If you order from them be prepared to not get your records. There's no numbers to call so you'll get an AI generated response with absolutely no help.

Fails to accept cost of their Dispatch errors

This company is part of the Universal Music Group. However this company provided terrible service via their U.K. store They have a reputation of dispatching the wrong record and then refuse to pay return shipping for their mistake. I recently paid more for shipping than their record I purchased. Yes, I received my purchase money back, but not the postage cost for their mistake. I am not aware of any other record seller refusing to pay shipping costs for a genuine error made by the Seller. Totally understand there policy as per their Web Site. But for their mistake - it is not fair. Even refused to offer a credit for a future purchase. Reputation and Customer Service is not as important to "The Sound of Vinyl". Then ensuring increases in Profit.

I placed and paid for two orders during…

I placed and paid for two orders during the half off sale at the end of last year of 82 items on one order and 33 items on the other for a vinyl group. I have not received any of the items. Not one! I have been told for over 2 months there was a technical issue and that they would update me as soon as they knew something. Basically just a canned non-response every week for over 2 months. It is highly doubtful at this point that they could fill even half of the orders. As a lot of the items are currently out of stock. It is impossible to get any direct communication from this company. Myself and the members of our group are very serious vinyl collectors and really wanted to like and continue to purchase from the Sound of Vinyl. At this point it almost seems somewhat like this company made false promises or inaccurate claims and is holding captive almost $2,000 for over 2 months. At the very least they are incorporating incompetent business practices. Buyer Beware!

Disappointed

On a couple occasions I where I had pre ordered records I was told on the day I was expecting delivery that they had run out of stock..I should have been told at the time of ordering that I was unfortunate that time.

Buyer beware

Buyer beware! I ordered 3 records back in mid Dec 2024 and 3 more end of Dec 2024. The order at the end of 2024 was recieved, the mid December order I still have not received. I email the company and all I get is we are looking into it and we will notify you when we figure it out... it's been over 3 months.
They won't give any answers as to why it is taking so long or why I cannot get my ordered filled. You are taking a gamble ordering from this company. You have been warned.

Awful service. Goods never delivered, now out of stock

Awful service.
Ordered in December with quite a big order, order never arrived, and after months of chasing and being told my order would be delivered, I've now been told its all out of stock. They took my money and completely failed to deliver the goods. Very hard to get in contact with them and get different answers each time. Have been a customer for a while, I won't be any more.

Had a separate order where the good arrived with damaged sleeves. Was offered a discount. They never made good on that either.

Avoid at all costs. Shocking

Post response below: I have reached out to um support. I have been reaching out since December. I was told they would be dispatched, then nothing. Then slowly I have been told each item is now out of stock. I got offered a poor discount on my next order.. sorry but it's really bad all round especially as some of the items were for gifts. I have ordered a number of times before, not had any issues. But this has been shocking.

Second update: just do better , don't sell a product if it's not isn't stock. Don't refund then add postage. And offer your customers somthing for this awful service.

Third update: They have some of the items I ordered in stock now on the website but they are now way more expensive.
Paint by numbers customer service.
Avoid.

Horrible Shipping

Ordered 5 vinyls and after a month none were shipped out / updated. I had to email every week, only receiving one at a time, and letting them know I’m still waiting for another. Nothing would be updated/ no time estimates given. I don't understand how their shipping / inventory system can be this messed up. I was excited to receive vinyls on sale but that all gets canceled out by the long wait times. If you want to gift someone a vinyl, I advise you to pay full price and walk into a store, because shipping times are outrageous. If they could just fulfill sending an order fully then maybe it would be worth it.

I had a horrible experience with them.

I had a horrible experience with them.
I ordered 3 vinyls at the end of December. In the next month I got 2/3 I didn’t have any problems with that except that it took a while to ship.The third vinyl however they told me they sold more than they had so I had to wait till 2/17 which is 2 months from the date that I ordered it. I emailed them again on said date because I heard nothing from the for months. They tell me that the item is out of stock,here is a refund. I’ve been waiting for 2 months for something they didn’t even have. And they would’ve never sent me an email about it I could’ve waited forever.Horrible experience

Terrible experience not good

Sent me the wrong item which was also damaged I have to say. Replied to my query once then have ignored me since. I'll have to raise some sort of dispute through my bank to try and get a refund.
Items have since been sent back and a refund given.
