Ordered a record over a month ago. Not only is it not even shipped, but they refuse to give me any updates regarding the status. Even though my name is on the order and the shipping address and credit card they are saying the order is not in my name. They were happy to take the money, though. I will probably have to report them for fraud to my credit card company to get the money back and then order from somewhere else. Never mind that this birthday present is now very, very late.

Ordered records on jan 3rd and still waiting for them on feb 6th. Every email is scripted to say fhey are looking into it. I've previously made a half dozen or so orders with very few issues.
Update: it's march 10th and they still are giving me the run around. They are blaming their supplier now.

I recently purchased from The Sound of Vinyl and overall, I had a good experience. They have a great selection, and my order arrived quickly and in excellent condition, well-packaged to avoid any damage. There were some hiccups with customer service as communication could be clearer and resolving issues seemed to take more effort than expected, which was a bit disappointing. However, the quality of their products is impressive, and I would recommend them for their professionalism and authentic vinyl offerings. A solid 4-star experience!

Orderen a vinyl little bit than a month ago. At first, they wrote, than they will sent a vinyl in a week. Then, i did not get a shipping code and wrote to them. They said, than they will ship in about 3 weeks. After 3 weeks - no shipping code. Wrote to them again, asked if they have a vinyl and if not - i want a refund. Wrote to me back, that, apparently, they do not ship to my location (europe) and will sent me a refund. I do not understand HOW they approved my order and did not see that they dont ship to my location. Writing after few days of the incident and waiting for a refund.

Bought a vinyl on the 3rd of December, 2024 and the eta was Jan 2025. In January I get an email saying there had been a delay and the order will ship before or on the 7th of Feb due to the delay. On the 6th of Feb I get an email stating the order can no longer be fulfilled. They basically got a free loan from me for 2 months. I mean surely it doesn’t take until the last day of the updated ETA to tell me the order cannot be fulfilled. Wouldn’t use this store in Australia

Unable to ship order to mainland Europe without triggering custom fees (more expensive than the order itself). Still waiting for a refund. Don’t buy from here, it’s Universal hidden under a fancy indie name.

I paid for two records on the 15th December 2024.
On two separate occasions, I was informed that the order had shipped, yet when I check the tracking number, I find that Royal Mail have never received it.
I contacted Customer Services and was assured that the order would be "resent".
Another 2 weeks have now passed, and still no order has been received.
To make matters worse, Customer Services would now appear to be ignoring the issue (and any further email correspondence I send them).
Really disappointed, because I've had no issues with other orders from them.
I’ve now had a full refund for this order, and I’ve had no problems with orders made after this one.
So, I felt it only fair to update my review, and add a couple of stars.

I ordered 3 records for Christmas presents and they stayed to me they forgot to ship them and now they are out of stock. They took forever to respond to any email and now 2 months after I ordered they still haven’t given my a full refund.

I have ordered from them multiple times and they have the best sales on good quality vinyls. They have very helpful customer service and they replaced a full box set free of charge just because I got a duplicate vinyl and was missing one. Shipping sometimes takes a while, but the deals and customer service are worth it. My go to for ordering vinyls online.

Update - The vinyls are coming but they are coming in waves. Their communication isn't the best and the time it takes for your product to arrive is sporadic and uncertain. I can handle the wait time but if you need something by a certain time, you'll have some concerns.
I'd order again but tailor my delivery expectations.
I bought 8 vinyl records from their website on January 1st. After getting the order confirmation it was crickets for three weeks - no update, no shipping confirmation, no order delayed, nothing.
I decide to email them because so much time has passed and they've already taken my money.
I get an email a few days later that SEVEN out of the EIGHT items are out of stock and that I'll be refunded. I dont mind items being out of order, I get that. What I don't get is that there was ZERO communication for three full weeks and I only get an update after I email them for it. Based on the reviews, I'm not the only one with this kind of experience.
Definitely bad business. Won't order from them again. I'll need to double check the vinyl record that did arrive to make sure that it is in good condition. I'll also need to make sure they refund me correctly.

I ordered a vinyl the bringing of Dec for a Christmas present and it did not turn up in time. I was informed on the 20th January that it would ship on the 31st Jan and found that unacceptable.
No explanation and no offer for a refund on the shipping. Won’t be using them again.

Placed an order Jan 1st that was supposed to ship out Jan 6th. Emailed them Jan 7th and received a reply from “Cristyl” saying “ Thanks for reaching out to us!

I received a preshipment label creation notification on Jan 10th. Today is Jan 16th and nothing has changed. They have not replied to an email sent on the 14th. They send the preshipment tracking so you can’t get a refund. Now I have to dispute the transaction.

This company sells vinyls they don't have in stock, is inconsistent with customer service, and takes way longer than they claim to send shipments.
My order was supposed to ship 3 weeks ago, but they canceled 2/4 items (conveniently, it was the two most popular items in my cart that I had bought on 50% sale) and it still hasn't shipped. My communications with their customer service were spotty at best.

I wouldn’t buy from them, they keep items on their website that are out of stock/they can’t fulfill, just to get people to browse/shop. I ordered 6 vinyls and 3 ended up being back-ordered with no estimate on when it would be back in stock. Out of curiosity I went to see if that was reflected on their site and the items were still showing as available for purchase with a new ship date. This is incredibly disgusting and kind of misleading business practice. I was told my items would ship 4 days after purchase and when they didn’t I sent an email asking for an update. A day later, they finally sent the tracking information and informed me about my back ordered products. However, since receiving the tracking information they still haven’t shipped my order and it has been almost two weeks. All it shows is USPS is awaiting items and when I emailed again to 1. ask about the items and 2. cancel my back ordered part of the order; I have yet to received a reply to either and it’s been about a week on that. I’ve ordered from smaller websites and businesses who were not misleading, quick, and communicated well. It’s crazy to me that a $44 billion dollar music company cannot handle a vinyl website. Don’t bother, spend your money elsewhere !

DO NOT ORDER. I placed my order with SOV almost three weeks ago. The items were supposed to ship on 1/1/25. However, I have not received them, or even an update on shipping. But, my biggest complaint is that SOV is not responding to my inquiries. I’ve reached out multiple times and have basically been ignored. They have my money, so I’ll likely have to get the credit card charges reversed. I’m surprised that Universal Music Group is jeopardizing their reputation with such TERRIBLE customer service. Buyer beware.

I purchased some records on Dec 27th and still have not received them (writing on Jan 15th). I've emailed multiple times, was advised that 2 of the records were shipping, however, the USPS tracking says that the label was created but has not shipped. I've reached out for an update but still have not received a reply. Not sure if this is normal but so far my experience has been awful. Normally I would have canceled the order by now, but the records were a good deal, if they ship.....

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. Horrible customer experience, despite having to talk to ~10 different customer service agents via email I didn’t once get the feeling that they actually cared, most likely because these agents can’t actually do anything to help you with your order so it’s pointless.
I ordered 4 albums on their Black Friday promotion. I had to wait another month before they actually shipped. By the time they were out for delivery, somehow a USPS address validation occurred and they had to be returned to sender. I’ve not once had this address issue with any other order I’ve placed, and checked the logs to confirm I input my address correctly and the same way I do for any other order.
They couldn’t do anything about the return to sender, so add on another 8 days to this ordeal. This was supposed to be a Xmas gift ordered a month before the holiday, they didn’t even come close to delivering. To top it all off, they then said that 3 of my albums were now “out of stock”. Even though my original order was returned to sender due to their address error, I’m shit outta luck because they gave them away to someone else I guess.
