A mouse in the lounge

A mouse in the lounge!

I go to the lounge at The Stratford on a weekly basis as it’s a great place to meet clients and have always loved it. Today whilst meeting with a colleague there was a mouse in the lounge and after it darted around for some time decided to run up my leg.
I along with a number of other people reported it to staff but there seemed to be no reaction, they clearly were not phased by it at all.

Charged for rooms that they didn't have.

Checked in with 2 children at 8.30pm to find out there's no room for us. Waited in the bar because we got told they would sort it. 1hr30 later when we go to ask we are told they dont have a room to offer but we won't be refunded for atleast 5 working days.
Probably the worst experience I have had with my kids in any hotel.

Just amazing

We had the manhattan suite amazing room, amazing staff on reception especially torien and Daniele at the bar such great people, food is truly delicious especially the chicken burger in a pancake bun, the crayfish salad is sooo nice too x

We love coming to this local hotel - Pawel exceptional manager

We love coming to this local hotel - it a a gem in the area and the service is second to none, especially our friend Pawel who goes out his way to make our stay special even if we just pop in for a coffee in the lovely lounge and terrace. Love the interiors, drinks and music. The rooms are luxury and modern . Fully recommend for everything!

Went for a treat yesterday

Went for a treat yesterday. Food and drink were fine. Asked for the dessert menu. Gave up after 10 mins. No condiments on table. Shame as it used to be pretty good. Second time running it was poor service.

Brilliant Hotel and Staff!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Stratford Hotel. We had planned a trip to watch Peter Kay at the O2 and decided the Stratford Hotel was the perfect venue for us to stop over for the weekend. After staying there, I can confirm it was the right choice, and I wanted to take a moment to share how exceptional my experience was. From the moment I arrived, the service was outstanding. A special thank you to Ashley Shaw, the General Manager, who went above and beyond to make our stay truly memorable. His attention to detail and the genuine care he took made us feel right at home. Ashley ensured everything was perfect, from check-in to check-out, and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I can’t recommend this hotel enough, and I’m grateful for Ashley’s excellent hospitality. Thank you for such a wonderful experience, and I look forward to returning!

5 Stars - Exceptional Service and Facilities!

This was our third time staying at The Stratford Hotel, this time with friends for the Peter Kay show at the O2, and once again, it didn’t disappoint. From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch. The general manager, Ashley Shaw, truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us. He greeted us on arrival and checked in with us throughout our stay to ensure all our needs were met that level of attention really sets this place apart.

The facilities are stunning the hotel is modern, clean, and comfortable. The bar is a great spot to unwind before heading out, and we also appreciated how easy it was to hop on a train to central London, with Westfield shopping centre just a short walk away.

The staff and the overall experience make this hotel stand out. I can’t recommend it enough and we will definitely be returning. If you’re looking for a convenient, comfortable, and welcoming place to stay in Stratford, look no further!

This is my current situation with the Stratford. What a shame.

‘Hello Sara and Ashley

I am sad and frustrated to be writing this email.

2 phone calls and 3 emails and you still have my £50 room deposit from nearly 4 weeks ago even though you refunded onto my card at the time. I have since discussed this at length with your staff and you explained the error was on your side. You asked me to provide my bank details over email which I did nearly 2 weeks.

I was your first ever guest in Nov 2019 and one of the first people to review the Stratford Hotel on Tripadvisor. I know some of the staff there, stay regularly and have recommended your hotel to countless people.

Can you explain to me this appalling customer service, when I can expect to have the money that your company is now illegally witholding.

Why are not all hotels like this!

Hi this hotel is amazing, we have been for lunch 3 or 4 times and breakfast for the first time yesterday. I have to say the food is amazing coupled with great service from all the staff. Breakfast yesterday was busy but no issue for from the staff or chef, food is a very high standard on every level!
Whoever is managing this should be an advisor to other hotels!

We had a very bad experience at reception

The person at reception was cold and unwelcoming the night of our arrival. They confused the rooms giving my parents the smaller bed room when it should of been the other way around, and we did ask about it, and not realized until later, and if you want filtered water you need to ask for a bottle at the bar every time, which is a bit annoying and makes 0 sense. Also, I never got an answer from their digital concierge service.

Amazing Hotel

Booked this hotel via the ABBA Voyage website as a recommended hotel .
From first impressions OMG , we were allowed in our rooms earlier which was nice.
Both bedroom were very nice and tidy and welcoming .
The hotel deal for bookingthe ABB concert was , bedroom upgrade , breakfast , taxi to and from the concert .
Reason for picking this hotel was it was my daughter 16th birthday surprise and I had never been to London before so the fact that the hotel was adding the taxi was a bonus.
Hotel was very welcoming and staff were very helpful and polite .
Time to the ABBA concert from the hotel was only about10 minutes.

Second time to stay here and I felt…

Second time to stay here and I felt standards had dropped. The general atmosphere in the hotel was sullen, staff don’t smile much and dj hardly audible. Furniture in lounge and hotel has become worn. Food breakfast and dinner in e20 is average not 5 star, especially the prawn linguine which actually tasted awful. Club sandwich was burned on one side. Cocktails are served in extra small glasses. Lack of water in rooms is disgraceful for a five star. You shouldn’t have to ask daily for this. First time staying in 2022 was a real treat this time 2024 not so much will not return.

Overcharged for stay... rude and patronising staff

Overcharged, called up to sort out the issue and was greated by rude and patronising staff who raised his voice and spoke over me and simply repeated what do you want me to do about it, then complained when I got aggravated back after 15 minutes of petulance.

Rooms were lovely

Rooms were lovely, nice and clean, as was the bathroom. Dressing gowns, slippers and towels all supplied, fresh and clean. Toiletries also supplied.
Was apparently given an upgrade from a standard room to a medium room, only problem it looked over train tracks and no windows that would open….not what I would call an upgrade, also the coffee machine didn’t work.
Hotel itself was lovely and clean and staff were very friendly and polite.
On-site restaurant kitchen E20 was clean and great friendly staff, always asking if everything is ok. Food was great, although chips are to thick, should be slim (but that’s just my preference) and not enough choice on the menu.
Breakfast not so good, fried eggs where really undercooked, mushrooms where cold, bacon looked days old, but sausages where nice.
All in all I would recommend staying here.

DO NOT stay here!

I would give the stratford 0 stars if I had a choice! They took £160 deposit off me at the time of check in and on check out returned it to me. After 24hours they then randomly charged my card £100, this was without any authorisation or contact explaining why, when I called to query this charge, it was supposedly due to "wall damage " which I never did. Asked for proof and nothing was sent over nor did the manager call to speak to me! I suspect foul play and strictly recommend that you DO NOT stay at this hotel! I will now be taking legal action against them. Do yourself a favour and save the time/stress/hassle/money and stay at another hotel! This was on top of some rude staff at the hotel and no water pressure in the showers and there was a limit to how much soap/shampoo we could dispense from the bottles, you had to pump loads for a tiny amout, seriously they are not worth a single penny!
