Jonathan was very helpful, sorted out my flights after originally trying to book on line.

However be warned, whilst Jonathon was very helpful, he managed to book flights that were actually £200 cheaper if booked direct with the airline…

I bought a wowcher for a 3-night trip to Budapest. After sensing some red flags and then reading the 1 star reviews on here, I was concerned that I had been scammed and wasn't sure whether I would actually get my holiday. My experience of the company raised red flags, but ultimately they did deliver the holiday package I expected. Below are the red flags I encountered, but also positives about my experience (hopefully this gives a balanced, true indication of what you can expect):

Red flags:
- I rang twice to confirm holiday details and was promised a call back within a couple of hours, but did not receive one (to be fair, they did try to call me initially, but I missed the call)
- I sent a follow-up e-mail asking for a call back, but did not get a reply
- It does seem to be an Indian call centre where they use English names (using first names only)
- I was told that the assigned agent was "busy" and would call me back - I'm not convinced that a specific "agent" had been assigned to my booking, and that I was being palmed off
- The address of the company appears to be fake
- When I did eventually speak to an "agent", they did try to upsell

Positives
- The "agent" I eventually dealt with was polite and patient with me
- They did book my flights and hotel, which I have now verified are legit bookings, so it was not a complete scam (as I had feared)
- The confirmation e-mail I received was very detailed and helpful

Overall, I do feel that the customer experience is poor and did cause me stress. They do try to upsell, but it is not an all-out scam. I booked through wowcher to try and save money, but in future I will avoid because I would rather pay more and avoid the stress of a semi-reliable third party company.

SCAM!
We purchased a holiday through Wowcher on 24th September 2025 (Order Number: 50308137) for our holiday that was supposed to be in December, and it was auto redeemed. When it was auto redeemed, it did not allow me to fill in my personal information to be contacted. The booking went straight to the third party company, The Travel Makers, who we had to contact constantly to try and get any information. They reassured us that we had plenty of time, and we shouldn't worry to rush, yet after a month of numerous calls and being told to wait for our agent (Sonika) as she's very "busy". We then finally got into contact with the agent on WhatsApp, and she tried to upsell us on additional deals. Once we made it clear that we didn’t want to upgrade or pay more, the agent mysteriously stopped replying. It has now been two weeks since then, and a month and a half later, we still have no flight times, hotel names, or hotel dates. We called The Travel Makers multiple times (after being hung up on several occasions and receiving no replies to the emails I sent). When they finally answered, they told us that somehow our voucher had expired even though it had already been auto-redeemed, they told that we would need to contact Wowcher directly to get a refund. (We have this phone call recorded.)
Their delay for the voucher to be "expired" was entirely due to their lack of response, not ours.

We then tried contacting Wowcher’s WhatsApp customer support to request a refund, as the service we paid for has not been provided. However, they passed the case back to their third party, who (as already mentioned) told us to contact Wowcher. This has become a constant back and forth where neither side takes responsibility, so nothing gets resolved. Now, Wowcher’s WhatsApp support is no longer responding either.
At this point, we are left with no choice but to take legal action and involve the ombudsman. We have proof of all contact and phone recordings. What they have done is borderline illegal and goes directly against the Consumer Rights Act under UK law, as the service we paid for has not been fulfilled.

Absolutely awful!! Started off by giving us the wrong address of a hotel in Venice, forcing us to travel out of the area to a hotel nowhere near! Then in Florence, the hotel we were due to stay in was closed due to having no water and electricity. The Travel Makers did not inform us, we found out after calling the hotel to make sure it was where this company said it was after the Venice mess up. They made no effort to rectify this, so we had to find our own accommodation and had to pay extra. This holiday was a month ago and we have not received any refund or any communication from this company. This absolutely ruined our holiday. Strongly advise not to use The Travel Makers!!!!

I purchased a Wowcher holiday deal through The Travel Makers for Rome.
After payment, I was told the advertised hotel was “unavailable” and was asked to pay an extra £298 double the price.
After reluctantly paying, since then, I’ve had no booking confirmation.
Emails and calls go unanswered, even after involving Wowcher support still no response.
I checked the hotel and flights myself, and the same trip(Hotel and Flights) costs cheaper if I booked directly, compared to I’ve now paid.
I am now requesting a full refund as I believe I was mis-sold and overcharged.
It’s extremely disappointing and feels misleading.
After reading similar reviews here, it’s clear this is not an isolated issue.
Do not book through this company unless you want stress, overcharging, and silence after payment.

Purchased a holiday through Wowcher, these were the third party provider. Absolutely terrible customer service. I was told that The holiday I paid for was not available and was told I would need to pay further fees for an alternative. I asked for a refund and am still waiting. I have emailed and called numerous times and still nothing. I definitely think this company is scam! Do not use!!!!

Don't believe the price online . They ask about your card details then sent you booking request with note " Your e ticket will be issued shortly once your credit card verification has been completed " you can wait now long time and you don't get your confirmation. When you contact them they will say price is changed!!! And offer you much expensive tickets. This happened twice to me and to my friends. One big scam!!!

I purchased a trip to Rome on the 5th October through Wowcher and The Travel Makers were stated as the merchant provider. I contacted the company several times and after 9 days, the merchant contacted me about my trip, despite the voucher saying they will be in contact within 2 working days. It has been almost 3 weeks, and after 22 calls and 8 emails later, messages through their website enquiry form and WhatsApp, I am no closer to getting my trip confirmed or my refund.

After speaking to them on the 15th requesting a refund, The Travel Makers said I would receive an email within 24 hours. however I did not hear from them until the 21st to say the refund had been rejected by Wowcher. I received no explanation for this or communication during this time. I have contacted Wowcher who have put me back in contact with The Travel Makers as the voucher was purchased through them as a third party.

The communication and entire process has been terrible and has left me feeling stressed and worried as this trip is for a loved ones birthday.

Edit: 26/10- I have emailed them as requests and contacted them several times since, it’s been 3 weeks since I’ve purchased the voucher and 10 days since I requested a refund and I am still no closer to knowing if I am getting a refund.

Jonathan was very good - thorough and pleasant. I was a bit scared to use this site as some of the reviews were calling the company scammers. All in all the booking process was painless.

I spoke with Sanika and she made it a seamless experience, she was very kind and patient, allowing me to verify details as much as necessary. I would definitely love to deal with someone like Sanika every time as it would make for a much better experience. Thank you!

Do not use this company they take your money then do not send any confirmation of any holiday booking and make you pay extra at the start by stating your flight is not available! I booked through wowcher and was speaking to a man called Clarke which proberly was not his real name once they had my money they were not interested and wouldn't answer my calls and laughed down the phone when I asked them if it was a scam I have all the calls recorded and will be taking this to the newspapers and which and bbc as they were on there before ! DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND SCAM YOU!!

Extremely Disappointed – Unreliable Service and No Refund

I had a terrible experience with this company. I booked a holiday through their website, but they changed both my flight and hotel . The replacement hotel they provided was far below standard — it wasn’t even a one-star quality. I had no choice but to book another hotel myself.

I sent them all the evidence and receipts multiple times, and they kept saying that they would issue a refund, but it’s been weeks and nothing has been done. Their customer service is extremely poor — slow responses, no accountability, and empty promises.

I would not recommend this company to anyone. Be very careful before booking anything through them — once they have your money, you’re completely on your own.

Our travel agent was very patient and honestly did her best to give us all options available to us. She made the hassle of booking a holiday very easy on our side

Avoid at all cost . They tried to change our flight then your hotel . We are out off pocket because after booking flights they didn't give us the hotel they promised when we started the booking . We now can't go.

They should be called trouble makers not the Travelmakers.
I bought a voucher for what was supposed to be a holiday to Venice and Lake Como . The hotel is a 45 minutes drive from the lakes and the hotel isn’t even in Venice , it’s miles away in Mestre !
This is false advertising and unfair terms.
They pressure you into redeeming the voucher within 48 hours . Unfair terms.
When you try to get any refund they just reply with the same message on WhatsApp . This is what I got after 16 messages sent to them. I haven’t even actually entered into any contract or booked the flights or hotels as , in addition to false advertising and unfair terms , they have a really bad reputation for scamming people into paying for a holiday that wasn’t what was advertised and charging more money!!! It’s daylight corruption and extortion and this should be stopped by ATOL and the FCA !!!
All I get as a reply on WhatsApp is

They said they could only ring me after 11am !! What sort of a business is this ?

No satisfactory reply or outcome. I’ve been chasing them for a refund for weeks.

25/09/25 to date , almost 3 weeks and they still haven’t issued me my refund !
They just do not care what stress they cause people.
Stay away from this and other companies they go by the name of.

Their company records on Companies house show very few holidays have been sold for such an allegedly big firm with so many different names . Don’t believe any positive reviews they are very likely to be false!

Don't believe these positive reviews. It's probably the staff that have written them. Useless company, provided my contact details at point of booking, they said they had no details for me which is a lie. Tried emailing, WhatsApp heard absolutely nothing. Called 20 times for my call to be ignored, hung up on, transferred through to another customer twice! Noone wanted to help with the call, they told me I wasn't entitled to a refund. They wanted to charge me additional fees for the trip I booked when I did finally speak to someone. It took a total of 20 calls to try and get anywhere. Good luck to anyone trying to use this company. I will never be booking with them again.

UPDATE:

I have emailed countless times again and reached out over WhatsApp to confirm who the flights are with and AGAIN no response, I had to confirm with the hotel if a booking had even been made as I had no faith.. honestly save yourself the stress and don't book. I was advised that a manager was going to call me back, still waiting for that call.. AVOID AVOID AVOID
Ps. They've also tried to get this review down as defamatory and trust pilot agreed it wasn't..
