Highly recommend!

We took The Village Midwife course in Old Dalby with Laura and cannot recommend it enough to any parents-to-be. We took so much away from the course. Laura was extremely approachable, welcomed questions and shared such a wealth of knowledge (both in the classes and extensive information and links were provided via email to refer back on as well). We are feeling so much more informed and prepared for the birth experience and arrival of our first baby. Thank you so much Laura!

I would like to thank Lisa (Worcester)…

I would like to thank Lisa (Worcester) for all the help and support I have received during my pregnancy and postpartum. He has always helped me and answered all my questions with great affection. He has great training and a lot of knowledge. With her you can feel safe as a mother and as a woman, she takes your opinions into account and you can be yourself, express your fears and achievements.
It is obvious that she really enjoys her work and helping others.
She is a great professional who supports you at all times.
She is very attentive, affectionate and has a lot of patience, she listens to everything you have to say and responds with a lot of love.
Thank you very much Lisa for everything I have received in these months, I don't know what I would have done without you and your experience.

Amazing antenatal with Kate

We had our antenatal course with Kate and it was amazing. Each session was very informative and prepared us well for birth and parenthood.
It was very homely, warm and caring during the sessions without any judgement and we felt very comfortable from the start.
Kate was absolutely amazing with her continuous support and guidance and we were lucky enough to have her support when baby was born too.
Her sessions helped us to be flexible and open minded to the challenges that birth presents!
We were drawn to the village midwife course as it was very personal and we definitely got our money’s worth compared to other courses available.

Thank you Kate for all your continued support with our little boy.

Invaluable knowledge

Not only was Kate incredibly lovely but her classes were very informative, evidence based and super helpful! Kate offers not biased opinions, evidence based knowledge and helpful tips, tricks and information which made such a big difference to my whole birth experience. With it being my first baby me and my partner had no idea what to expect when it came to giving birth and being a birth partner but we learnt invaluable information through this course from pre birth, during Labour and post birth. Kate was a big advocate for using your own voice and gaining all the information surrounding all options available to you so you can make well informed decisions. Kate even went above and beyond for me to help with a personal problem during my pregnancy.
I would whole heartedly recommend the village midwife (and Kate) to any pregnant women and their birth partners.

The Village Midwife is amazing!!

We did both the antenatal and postnatal course with Sophie (Great Missenden), and it was truly amazing. Sophie had popped up on my insta before I was pregnant and I absolutely loved her vibe. So of course I had to book onto the course when we found out I was expecting.

Sophie is amazing, her energy and love for midwifery is so apparent in her classes. No question was to silly, and there was no judgement on any choices that you had made. She genuinely just wanted you to have the best birth experience possible and know how to advocate for yourself in hospital. We left the antenatal course feeling so empowered with information, and grateful to have met so many like minded couples.

The postnatal course was equally brilliant, the sessions were so helpful postpartum touching on loads of subjects that were helpful.

Genuinely can't have imagined the end of my pregnancy and start to motherhood without Sophie's wisdom and guidance, will definitely miss seeing her weekly.

Informative and supportive classes

We found the Village Midwife antenatal classes SO helpful and informative. Kate was fantastic - so knowledgeable, non-judgmental and everything she covered felt very evidence based.
It was great to see certain things in person (like an epidural needle) so you can get a really good understanding of the processes you might go through in labour.

The classes helped me go from feeling nervous to feeling excited and prepared for labour. My partner also feels very prepared to support me.

I would recommend them to anyone!

We absolutely loved the village midwife…

We absolutely loved the village midwife course lead by Aimee in Leighton Buzzard. The course was so informative yet fun at the same time. It felt like a really safe space to ask any weird and wonderful questions. Aimee was super attentive and personable which made a new and very daunting time in our lives feel a lot more comfortable and enjoyable! There were also ample opportunities to socialise with the other parents. I’d 100% recommend the course to any expectant parents. Aimee continues to be incredibly supportive and for that I am so grateful for her and the course! Thank you!

Lisa The Village Midwife Worcester

We have just finished our last session with Lisa in Worcester and can safely say we feel much more prepared for the arrival of our little one. Lisa very kindly accommodated us fairly last minute as our originally booked antenatal course was cancelled and her Worcester class was full, so we were lucky enough to have one to one sessions in the comfort of our own home.

The sessions were so informative, Lisa covered everything from the labour and birth options, pain relief options, induction, c section and navigating making your own decisions. We covered what to expect in the post natal period, and lots of very handy information on babycare (as well as practicing with dolls).

Each session was also followed up with an email for where to research further and helpful videos too.

Lisa was very knowledgeable and informative, friendly and approachable, would definitely recommend thanks Lisa!

Myself and my husband attended the July antental course in Bicester with Clara which we thoroughly enjoyed. Clara had a wealth of knowledge for pregnancy, Labour and the fourth trimester and it left me feeling so much more prepared for birth and my husband also. The WhatsApp group with the other mums has been great now our little ones are all here to offer advice and Clara has been so handy on WhatsApp now our little bundle of joy is here to offer advice and support. Would highly recommend the course and thanks to Clara for all her help :)

We recently attended the course in Worcester with Lisa, she was very informative and helpful, she gave us lots of useful information exploring all different aspects of childbirth and postnatal care, while reminding us that everything was our choice. She really made us feel at ease and we ended the course filled with confidence going into the next chapter of our lives.

Great support from Lisa in Worcester

Just finished our antenatal course with Lisa and it was super helpful and informative. Lisa is very approachable and I feel supported going forward with all the knowledge gained.
I struggled to find any local courses for parents of twins so booked in with Lisa and she made sure to give us extra information about how my twin delivery may differ etc. Also during a baby wearing/sling session she made sure me and my partner were not only able to use a stretch wrap for 1 baby but how to use it for 2!

Thank you so much Lisa, see you for the postnatal sessions when the twins arrive!

The village midwife ante natal course…

The village midwife ante natal course run by Laura Collins in Melton was fantastic. The pre course communication was great and we were all clear on what to bring and what to expect.

The course content was thorough and bias free, and we were encouraged to learn about, thoroughly understand and advocate for ourselves for the birth that we want, whilst also making other plans so that we are not taken by surprise if our birth does not 'go to plan'.

Laura was very friendly and encouraged questions and interaction, this made the course feel really welcoming, non-judgemental and we all had a good laugh too.

The nice thing about this course was that it wasn't just focused on baby stuff (feeding, nappies etc), there was also a large focus on the well-being and needs of mum and dad, pre and post natally.

Laura made it clear that following on from the course she is available to answer questions via whatsapp for as long as we need her for, which is very reassuring. Having access to a midwife in this way is a huge benefit, especially when pre natal appointments have quite a long time between them.

I feel much more prepared for everything after doing this course and there is a huge amount of resources and reading materials that Laura has sign posted us to, which I'll be working my way through link by link as the countdown commences.

Thanks Laura!

The Village Midwife - Worcester

We have recently had our daughter and I honestly don’t think our birth would have been the beautiful experience it was if it hadn’t been for Lisa and the Worcester Village Midwife course. My husband and I learned so much about the birth experience and the options available to us, which left us feeling confident in all of the choices we made.

The course itself was delivered in a beautifully relaxed environment and we felt able to ask any questions we had, no matter how big or small.

The support we have received from Lisa following the end of the course and the subsequent birth has also been invaluable. She did an awful lot of research for us as we were booked in with an out of area hospital which, again, made us feel confident when the time came to make the journey into parenthood.

We can’t thank Lisa enough and will be recommending her to all of our friends.

Can't recommend Mel in Gt Yarmouth area enough

Can't recommend Mel enough! We opted for the 1-1 course where Mel came to our house over 3 sessions to fit around our work schedules.

The course was in depth and eliminated any fear/nerves I had around labour and birth. knowledge really is power and we gained so much confidence from the info that Mel gave us. We were taught things we had NO idea about and it was so interesting!

We felt so comfortable to ask as many questions that we could think of during the sessions. We were also really happy with the follow up emails with links to videos, podcasts and further information for us to read up on.

If you're thinking of doing an antenatal course - choose this one! It was clear how knowledgeable experienced and professional Mel is. We really felt like this course gave us all the tools we needed to bring our little one earthside and jump in to parenting with confidence.

Thank you Mel! xxx

Great class!

My husband and I recently completed the village midwife course with Kate. All of our friends have children and we have learnt a lot from them over the years but we still felt like we had a lot of questions and had a lot still to learn. Kate’s classes were very informative in a causal environment. The village midwife has given us confidence with our early parenting choices and has given us new informed knowledge to take into hospital. Kate was able to answer all of our questions and provided us with detailed explanations. We came away from the classes feeling like we had the medical information and research to help us to inform our choices. Kate showed us practical techniques and was able to discuss our local hospital practices in detail to help us feel confident and informed. Thank you.

We love The Village Midwife!

My husband and I booked onto both the antenatal and postnatal courses earlier this spring, both were amazing! I honestly don’t know where we’d be without Sophie’s knowledge, wisdom and kindness. I was particularly very anxious throughout pregnancy and approaching labour but The Village Midwife antenatal course helped me gain confidence and a better understanding of what to expect before and after birth. It also helped me connect with other mothers-to-be in the area, our group WhatsApp chat has been such a lifeline and great company during maternity leave! Sophie is absolutely amazing and I’d recommend doing any courses with her if you can to help you prepare for the mega gear shift ahead. We genuinely miss seeing her every week!!

The best antenatal course!

I cannot express enough how fantastic The Village Midwife antenatal course was! We feel so so luckly to have had Sophie teach us all about pregnancy, birth and postnatal care. We feel as armed as we can be for our journey, and have Sophie's handout book packed in our hospital bag so that we can refresh our memory if we need to. Sophie is knowledgeable, incredibly down to earth, funny, honest, inclusive and has fantastic communication skills. If we could have Sophie in the labour room - we would! She is fantastic, and has developed a business to support pregnant women and birth partners across Bucks - she is nothing short of amazing!

Highly recommended antenatal course

My husband and I attended the June/July '23 antenatal course with Sophie in Great Missenden and would highly recommend. As first time soon-to-be parents, we started the classes pretty clueless but have come away feeling far more confident for our parenthood journey ahead. Sophie excellently delivers her incredible midwifery and parental knowledge with an unbiased approach and creates a safe place for all expectant parents to share their worries and openly ask (many) questions. We enjoyed the course so much that we have also signed up to the postnatal course and are very much looking forward to it.

Absolutely recommend

I cannot recommend the courses and Sophie any more highly. If you are expecting I honestly think it is the best thing you can do for yourself, your partner and your baby. I’d seen the course and followed Sophie online whilst trying to conceive and planned to do the antenatal course once I fell pregnant. We’d read lots of books and listened to lots of podcasts beforehand but still found the antenatal course really informative. Sophie has a really enthusiastic, non-judgmental, passionate way of presenting that made the course really enjoyable. My husband and I read through the book Sophie has put together many times before our baby arrived and would often refer back to it once he was with us, it’s so helpful. Sophie kindly gave us lots of personalised advice about our birth and breastfeeding and without it we wouldn’t have had the great experiences that we did. I originally booked the postnatal course as I thought it might be useful but actually it has been one of the highlights of early maternity leave. It gave us a safe and judgement free place to come where I didn’t have to worry if he cried or needed feeding or changing and gave me a reason to get dressed and out of the house in those early weeks of parenthood. I really looked forward to each session. Thanks to doing both courses I now have lots of Mum friends that I’ve been meeting up with which has been invaluable.
