To be honest I have shied away from any type of car warranty in the past as I did not have any confidence in them. After buying my most expensive car to date I relented and took out an RAC warranty just in case. I am so relieved I did. My car developed a fault after eight weeks so I called into a local RAC approved garage. The staff were amazing and looked at it there and then, correctly diagnosing the Issue. They dealt directly with the warranty people and booked me in a few days later for the repair to be carried out. The full cost of the repair was covered by the warranty and the process from beginning to end was completely stress free. Highly recommended.

This company wriggle out of anything. They don’t even believe their RAC approved garages, they identify faults from pictures even of leaks on our clutch, how they can see a leak beggars belief. Our car clutch slave cylinder cost £1800 and according to the garage agreed to pay £623, then only paid us £521, said the garage should have shopped around on the internet for spares. The whole experience has been a nightmare. Please don’t buy these so called warranties, they are just making money out of people and causing so much stress that we could do without.

Extremely poor.
I write this review in addition to that below. If you’re considering a purchase from the car shop of this policy think again, no proper mechanical review, no communication or response it’s a scam.
The company has previously responded to a related post on trust pilot in the public domain but failed to respond post this.
Very very poor do not buy

Wouldn’t pay out until we paid for repair to see if it fixed fault 😡

For the second time I had to battle for weeks to get paid. Their default position is not to pay. They use a very vague clause to deny a payment and their “engineers” hide behind the very polite call handlers who are often just as mystified as to why my claim was constantly denied until I explained some pretty basic facts via an official complaint. They did eventually pay. My advice is to put the equivalent of the premium in a separate account and use it for any sudden repair.

Really poor experience with TWG and the car shop. Our car suddenly broke down , went into limp mode over heating with coolant pouring out onto the floor. The car shop stated they couldn’t look at it for 4 weeks ! Managed to tow it to another recommended garage who deal with TWG. That car has now been in the garage for 4 weeks , leaving my wife unable to work. TWG have denied the claim twice without any explanation and have created delays by responding to the wrong email for the garage. We have now appointed representation to challenge the decision making with the repair bill already up to £1250. Unfortunately it’s the age old tale of warranty companies doing everything they can not to pay out.

Don't take out a RAC warranty not worth the paper it's written on my car broke down 6 weeks after I bought it after 7 weeks the car was fixed by an approved rac garage only for the same repair to go again less than 18 months later I rang the original garage it was only a 12 month guarantee so I rang rac to be met with we don't repair the same problem. So basically I'm stuck without a car I have got a gold warranty cover which I can't use because it has already been repaired on a previous claim £1000 down the drain

The approved RAC garage overcharged and RAC approved just a part of the invoice. I had to pay extra. I called RAC after to ask what happened, and they told me that for my problem only one hour was approved although the garage stated 2 were needed. I feel I've been scammed literally. Also, when I talked with the RAC representative, she hung up the phone when I was asked for explanations as to why they approved less and why I was scammed by their approved garage.

one our customers brought their car in for repair we rang for authority and it was authorised straight which was fine we ordered the parts and the car was repaired the next day we emailed the invoice to available cars warranty company a week later the invoice as not been paid. in my opinion the invoice should be paid as soon as the job is completed

After an incident involving a part covered by warranty, the warranty company initially tried to get out of paying. I then had to refer the matter to the garage and eventually the warranty company paid out, albeit less than I had been led to believe they would cover.
In summary I would say that it is better to have a warranty than not, but that the natural inclination of the warranty provider is to deny and delay. But they all do it!

According to the BMW main dealer report, there is a malfunctioning sensor in the petrol tank. To address this issue, BMW needs to disconnect the hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) battery. When Assurant requested cost details for this procedure, they declined to cover the expenses for disconnecting and reconnecting the HEV battery. Assurant's rationale behind this decision is that the HEV battery is not included in their policy coverage. However, it's important to note that the repair required has no direct connection to the HEV battery; it's simply necessary to access the faulty part. This information was not disclosed beforehand, and this conduct seems unjust. They also have longer processes to reply to customers at least in my case

Read the reviews and do not buy!!! Almost 3 weeks on and I am yet to receive final payment. This was after taking my car to a RAC Approved garage for urgent repairs and the mechanic refusing to work unless I paid up front. Not even their own mechanics trust them to pay.

My Van recently broke down and was under RAC Warranty, I also have brake down cover from the RAC, the van was taken to a RAC approved garage and was repaired very quickly, the warranty covered all costs, I was very impressed with the professionalism all round from brake down to repair, would not hesitate in recommending the RAC

Quite impressed with RAC warranty. Easy to deal with over the phone although very long wait for call to be answered. Agreed my claim, and settled in 7 days from them receiving the garage bill

This is for a phone insurance, my claim was resolved satisfactory, but it took about 3 weeks and a lot of phone calls from me, still even though it was a bit of a pain, I still am happy that the insurance covered my phone.

When the covered amount is for £1,000. Its a LIE even the garage that I was guided to warned me that RAC NEVER pay the full claim and the customer has to fork out for not only the diagnostic time. Eg £120 per hour. When RAC said that this particular garage charges between £40 and £60 per hour !!!! Thats notthr case we were told they would only pay £334.00 towards the air con condenser replacement which was going to be just under £700.00 The garage asked us to settle the invoice as the RAC take so long. They wouldn't actually release our car back to us until this was done.. RAC warranty is not worth having they dont meet the costs of the repair only what they deem is the value. Even when well in the maximum limit. Poor poor experience and a bad company. Tim from Tunbridge Wells
