Simple easy transaction, great communication

Initial internet order suffered a glitch on payment (accepted by bank, but amazingly rejected by their own SagePay system - minor discrepancy on billing address resulted in rejected order - we should all be grateful for the additional security!) quickly and very courteously dealt with - their telephone query line is an object lesson in customer service: charming, courteous and knowledgable. Re-ordered but out of stock - still arrived within 3 days, so they must get very quick re-stocking from Garmin. Overall very pleased with the service and the price.

Unfortunately, someone sent out the wrong Sat Nav, which was really annoying as it was a birthday present. However, after emails and phone calls, Thurbo pulled out all the stops. We found the right model on our return from London, so the birthday boy actually got his Sat Nav, tho' not with all his friends present. Looking at the thing philosophically, things can go wrong, but with the right attitude and effort, the wrong was righted. I now await a refund on the post for the returned incorrect item. As Shakespeare wrote, 'All's well that ends well'.

I ordered a Garmin Satnav from the Global GPS website where it was described as new. I then received an e-mail from them to the effect that delivery would be delayed but I will receive a 'new unit with the most up to date technology'.
I was very disappointed and angry when I opened the parcel to find the product in a plain 'Garmin' box with a label clearly indicating that it was a 'Refurbished Unit'. As this was intended to be a present for an imminent birthday I had relied on the description 'new' as I would feel extremely uncomfortable handing over a gift marked 'Refurbished'.
Global GPS's response over the telephone was that it was a 'newly overhauled device' and was therefore new. Whilst they said I could return the device and receive a refund I then had insufficient time available to source and order a replacement.
In my opinion this company is trading dishonestly. I have told them both verbally and by e-mail that if I do not receive a new unit I shall report them to the regulatory authorities.

Ordered something in stock to be then told it wasn't but they could order it. They took payment straight away knowing it wasn't it stock and they would have to order it from the manufacturer. One woman said they had to order it and another chap said it was in the warehouse. I cancelled my order.

I ordered a Garmin Approach S1 in white as a Birthday present for my wife - cost c£90.00. Imagine my reaction upon receiving a "refurbished" item - I was not impressed. Why would I pay £90.00 for a refurbished item When i could get a brand new one from Amazon for £79.00?
Repeat order - I don't think so!

Was nervous about buying from an unknown to me, but I was kept up to date via email, on order/delay/and delivery, well done, keep it up. Will use this company again

Booked SatNav weeks in advance. When I checked on its progress 4 days before departure I was told it hadn't been processed properly, but that it would be posted the next morning. I sat in all day today waiting for delivery and finally phoned to see what was happening only to find out it hadn't even been posted! No explanation only apologies.

Purchased a satnav for motorbike. Best on price at time of purchase and delivered in 3 days as quoted. Very pleased

Received within a week, which was brilliant as no other company could supply the cable within that time scale.

Order went through. System couldn't process payment twice. No help. Cancelled. Went elsewhere. Useless. Got item immediately elsewhere.

Ordered a GPS and they delivered a Jetwash! Ok, mistakes happen, but then they insisted I had pay for another GPS before sending one out or wait until they found the one that they'd lost before sending my replacement one.

Shocking service, if you make a mistake, out it right, don't expect the customer to pay twice to cover your errors.

As the title suggests the item was not in stock but they took my money before finding that out , however they did keep me informed and although a little later than expected the item arrived as promised I would use them again but would check the stock level before payment was made!

The cheapest place to buy the Garmin S2 and delivered within the time given, only 2 working days.
however I did try to contact them several times by phone to ask when it was likely to be delivered but no one answered the phone.
But all in all delivered quickly so no problems.

I first ordered our satnav a week before we were due to travel. I had a phone message 2 days later asking me to phone them back. I did but they didn't know why they'd phoned me. I then had a call 2 days before we were due to travel to ask if we wanted to proceed with our order! They sent it immediately and it arrived in 24 hours.

A rather tatty but functioning Garmin.

Whilst in France I received 2 further calls asking if we wanted to proceed with our order. They were somewhat surprised when I told them we were in France with one of their satnavs!

After we returned the satnav I received an email telling me it was being replaced and did I want to buy it for £65. You can buy a NEW Garmin satnav for £67!

On top of all this, there were a lot of mistakes on the maps, both in France and the UK. Most were irrelevant, just an extra exit on a roundabout, but one, in Birmingham, sent us the wrong way up a motorway!

This was our first time using a satnav and it proved invaluable. However, it has shown us one thing - DON'T HIRE ONE. You can buy one for not much more than the hire cost and you get to keep it.
