IDK WHAT IS WORSE QBB OR DB

Imagine going to work with a train... Imagine being on time! Never EVER have the train been on time. 1 star is too much, 000000 minus 1 star is even to much. Like why do yoi even offer train service? To make people angry? To make them miss the connection? Waiting for 1 hour on the train ON THE STATION! Sweating because there is absolutely no air on the train, no free drinks offered for making us WAIT, WHILE I COULD HAVE GRAB SOMETHING TO EAT AFTER TRAVELING FOR 18 HOURS! GET A GRIP AND TAKE NOTES FROM THE NETHERLANDS, TRASH SERVICE AND TRAINS!

Stuck on a train in Slovakia to Vienna…

Stuck on a train in Slovakia to Vienna without air con or water with no explanation. Fellow passenger found out police were looking for someone in the area. Getting going again over an hour later only to stop again - told we had to switch trains. 2+ hours late. No communication or apologies or refunds offered. Going through process of claiming a refund now but no compensation for the lost evening.

Don't. Just take other means of transportation

The night jet Amsterdam - Vienna is a disgrace.

Filthy, stinks like pee and cigarettes, very unprofessional and rude staff ( that is if you can find any), no blackout curtains, almost 1h late departure, 2h late arrival, no working WC's (the very few ones working dead filthy and stinky, no soap), no individual plugs/charging outlets, no WiFi, cannot catch any sleep due to the light and noise.

It is an expensive, uncomfortable and nasty way to travel.
Never again OBB.

OBB Nightjet from Amsterdam to Zurich

We took the OBB Nightjet sleepr car from Amsterdam to Zurich in September 2023 and it was a terrible experience. It was 90 degrees (30C) in Amsterdam and our car had no working air conditioning. We sweated thru the night and barely slept. The top bunk was unbearable for sleeping. Further none of the WCs worked in the first 2 cars and the nearest one that did work had no soap or paper towels. The trains are not well maintained. I would not recommend.

They don't care about the customers.

This company does not want to improve at all.
They don't care about the customers.
They rate themselves with 97% punctuality, which is a total BS.
They are expensive!
If possible avoid them !!!!

If I could rate with -5

If I could rate with -5, I would, Nigh Jet, 1 hour late, after that, two people got stuck in a cabin, we tried to help them, there was no crew to be found, no hotline available till 6 am, I call at 6 am, the call support agent couldn't reach anyone, there is no such thing as panic button or emergency button, to contact someone, we strayed with the couple to offer comfort in the situation, they were panicked, I search the train multiple times hopping to find someone.. after 1 hour we told them we're going to take our seats and keep trying to reach the öbb crew. As we got to our seats, well surprise, someone just occupied them, and didn't want to move, I specifically booked those seats. " the train is not full, go search for other seats", that was the reply I get after saying nicely, "hello you're sitting in our seats". After a while I get a call from the call support agent from obb, still didn't reach anyone, I was put on hold, and after 10 minutes, one of the couple came thanking us for our help, in the end someone from the crew passed by, (by chance) and opened the door. How is it possible not to reach the crew? How is it possible not to have a emergency button to reach the crew as a passenger in distress?! How is it possible to choose your seat and not be able to sit there because someone takes them and refuses to move.
After the door was unblocked, the support agent called to inform me, that they reached a crew member, and help is on the way...these people were stuck in a cabin since we took the train, it took 1 hour and 15 minutes for the agent to reach a crew member...imagine being locked in a small cabin, people passing by, not stopping or stopping for a moment to assure you that they'll get help and leave, and imagine not speaking the language... it's a scary feeling.
They were grateful that we stopped and stayed with them, trying to open the door, and call ÖBB.
Horrible experience, people with no empathy, education and lack of responsibility.

No automatic seat allocation

When buying a ticket, which btw is already pricey compared to other European countries, there is no seat allocation! An extra fee is charged for a seat number. Some passengers have seats and some don’t which results in constant upheaval and movement in the carriages. I mean it’s logical that a passenger needs a seat when traveling on the train so why isn’t it automatically allocated ? Very badly organized and poor service. The ÖBB Management team should learn from other companies such as RENFE train in Spain where the service is excellent!!!

Horrible service

Horrible service, even worse connection. They are not even waiting on you when your running for your life to get the train. It’s just 100% lacking in all, back to the car that is. Caring about the earth has its limits!

Train cancelled

Train cancelled , no notification given and when asked multiple representatives were given different trains to board and differing platforms When finally got on train and tried to discuss how connections may work to accomodate their delays found this person to be exceptionally rude as were all those ÖBB representatives at Salzburg. My suggestion is be prepared to be stuffed around and not gain any assistance from their customer service team.

Absolute disaster and nightmare

ÖBB train is an absolute disaster. Early in the morning the train was already delayed by 30 mins. No announcement or anything except some announcement in the local language, which more than half the people waiting don’t understand because we are tourists? Then the train finally came and we realised that it was so overly crowded and having paid quite expensively for this ticket I really wasn’t expecting this. So we ended up standing and sitting along the corridors, and mind you each time we have to stand up if people needs to go to the washroom or when we reach a stop.

3 stops later the ultimate nightmare happened - some guy came on the train and rudely expressed some things to a lady beside who obviously couldn’t understand, and then he finally said “everyone get off next stop in 15 mins”. No announcement nothing, and everyone was just made to get off. We then have to ask around ourselves to realise the next train is 2hrs later! No special arrangements, nothing to ensure that the passengers were taken care of. Is it that hard to prepare a replacement train?

Overall disastrous experience for the tickets paid and the way they treat their passengers. We are just like trash. Pay more for an air ticket, and just stop taking this useless train line that I wish one day will close down for the benefit of everyone.

Expensive & awful

Their trains do not live up to the price of their tickets (e.g. 50 euros for a economy class ticket from Budapest to Vienna)

Uncomfortable, dirty, no individual phone charging socket or USB per seat... Disgraceful

The most unreliable service

This might be the worst public transport I’ve ever used. The trains either get canceled, are late, change the end stations or change directions. Can only make you nervous and angry traveling with ÖBB!
