WORST EXPERIENCE EVER with these…
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER with these trains. I can’t believe they are so expensive and the service is the worst!!! There’s no air conditioning in many trains which are crowded and temperatures are too high. Also, they sell you tickets connections that then they get delayed and you can’t even pick the following train. I hate them!!!!
Obb puts wrong time on ticket and refuses to refund or accommodate
I took a night train with OBB, for which I paid more than 500 euros. On the ticket they sent me, one day before departure, the train was scheduled to leave at 19. When I arrived at the station at 1840, the train left before my eyes. Obb doesn't want to give me any refund, apologies or voucher, because they maintain that the time on the ticket is superseded by the fact that they sent me a text message 2 months before departure (!) that stated the schedule was updated. Note that the ticket was sent to me ONE DAY before departure, and stated a departure time of 24 minutes later.
Very bad trip from zurich to Utrecht
Very bad trip from zurich to Utrecht. O no we ended in Frankfurt am main 01.00 o clock at night. And that's it. We also booked 1e class and now we see that was not possible! A little late information.
We asked 1e class! We get very bad trains. They didn't inform us.🐷🐷🐷

OBB train customer service SHAMEFUL

If you are traveling to Austria from here possibly do not travel the OBB train company from this station. I had the worst experience at their customer service desk at OBB office horribly rude woman we felt unsafe and unjust.
What a shame
What a shame, the worst train company in Europe. Very expensive, no comfort, many standing and laying people on the walking ways, the toilets out of work and of course always delay. For this price this is more, than disgusting.
If you travel interrail and activate…
If you travel interrail and activate even a minute after the train leaves they fine you 50€, that includes a late train.
Nightmare staff and service
Nightmare staff and service
As a foreigner, I was being very much humiliated and insulted 99% of the time I interacted with them. Very unprofessional set of rules and service providers, to the extent it seems a fraud company, no dignity could be expected from them. The staff is very rude, and it almost feels like an attack when they unnecessarily judge or suspect you, it seems they disdain or are being racist with a foreigner, very bad behavior. Never they are sorry for tangibly and obviously harming their client, arrogant staff, not humble enough to be sorry even on their clear faults. Worst possible, nonsense practices only causing problems to clients and perhaps only benefitting themselves, they gain pleasure by hurting and tormenting and harming their client, they do not deserve your hard-earned money, it is a curse that I had to be their client
I'd rather put minus 5 stars
I had to learn through the news paper that all trains on the Berlin-Paris lines were canceled, because of work done on the rails.
OBB never contacted me to inform that my pre-fully-paid booking was no longer valid. I had to call a toll telephone line to have confirmation of the cancellation.
OBB never contacted me to proceed to the reimbursement of the fee I paid for the ticket. I called the toll line and learned It was impossible to be reimbursed through that service cause I bought my ticket on line on the official OBB website.
I have had to ask a reimbursement for a train that have been cancelled through a form asking all the information OBB already knows!
I don't hold grudge for the cancellation: I don't think OBB had any power in the source pb.
But the customer information and service after that is absolute BS.
Be sure I won't ever be a client of them and I'll find any occasion to make my experience publicly know. (I'd figured their national patrons must already know how much they suck; but since OBB does connections in other countries, there's a lot of EU citizen who have to be warned.)
Avoid at any cost!
Travelled Vienna to Prague first class sauna
Travelled Vienna to Prague supposedly first class. Journey was in two legs and air conditioning was switched off in the first class carriage on both trains. Apparently broken both times, but coincidently only in first class both times.... hard to tell if down to lack of maintenance and laziness / incompetence in sorting it out or just a nasty trick the staff like to pull but either way never again with these clowns!!
Avoid like a plague
It's the worst customer service I've ever seen. I rightfully applied for a refund and tried to contact them several times - no response
Sometimes I use the Railjet Express…
Sometimes I use the Railjet Express between Budapest and Zürich.
I can tell you, the service gets worse year-by-year.
Issues with the service, having tried all classes:
- Toilets are often out of operation.
- Wifi does not work, with exceptions.
- There is no space for trash.
- Fridges often brake down, therefore you cannot order meals while traveling.
- The quiet zone is everything, but quiet. The coffee machines are behind the quiet zone, you can imagine how loud those machines are.
- Still, a lot of passengers do not have seat reservations, leading to conflicts.
- The business class seats are far away from comfortable.
With regards to RJX162, the line between Budapest and Zürich, the train stops at absolutely unnecessary stations, where only a very few people take and off (Mosonmagyaróvár in HUN, at least 2-3 Austrian stations between Salzburg and Buchs, CH).
If we put these into context, the service is way too expensive.
rude customer service and non english…
rude customer service and non english customer call
What a joke
What a joke. We are en route from Zurich to Budapest. Sleeper we paid for unavailable. Staff super rude. No idea when we'll get there. We've travelled better for 25x less in Malaysia and Botswana. What is Austria actually still able to deliver? Other than crusty old history of no relevance to the present?
Stranded in Mannheim
Attempted to travel by NightJet from Salzburg to Paris on Friday 7th / Saturday 8th June in a duoble sleeper. We were woken up around 6am by the train alarm, and told to alight immediately, as our train was terminating in Mannheim.
OEBB staff were unhelpful, and did not provide advice about onward travel to Paris, or compensation. I ended up having to speak to DB customer service, from whom I ascertained I was entitled to use a DB service to Paris, which as a result of stranded OEBB passengers was standing room only for all 3 hours from Mannheim to Paris.
I applied for compensation online and have so far only received 50% of the fare I paid in compensation. This seems very stingy relative to the extremely poor customer experience, given that we arrived three hours later than planned in Paris, having had a disturbed night's sleep, and having had to stand for three hours.
Bed bugs
Got bitten by bed bugs on my train ride from Amsterdam to Munich, after getting in touch with customer support (super quick response!) I got a refund.
probably the worst passenger transport I've dealt with
I can't say anything about their train service in Austria but the nightet is the Ryan air of trains, but then expensive. It's a pity they get to treat their customers like s@#£& because they know they are the only ones in Europe. I booked an actual bed on the night train but now sitting on a chair, because the sleeper train is 'defect', I don't buy it. I'm saying this with pain in my heart but I will fly next time, this is just not holidays and it's really a pity Europe doesn't have anything better than this for train travel between countries.
Do not book with this company
Do not book with this company! Yesterday they had an hour long delay for the train from Budapest to Vienna, when we finally boarded the direct train I booked had 6 stops till we got to vienna! The trip took 3.5 hours instead of 2.5 - absolutely ridiculous.
But it doesn't end there! This morning we wanted to take the train to the airport, we bought tickets through the machines, went to the monitors to find out the tickets we were just sold had been canceled. The audacity to sell tickets to a canceled train is absolutely ridiculous. Do not book with them.
Cancelled train no refund
Our train from Munich to Bolzano on March 8 was cancelled due to a baggage handlers strike in Munich . It was difficult to get a reply regarding the refund process but finally got through one month later on april 10 and my refund was approved on April 16. It is now Jun 18 and I have still not received the refund. Their excuse my refund is still being processed, their overloaded with work because of route closures, strikes and storms. I'm pretty sure they have no intention of refunding me. I cannot recommend travelling with this train company and will not do so in the future. We were able to rebook our journey from Munich to Bolzano with Flixbus which was just as fast as the train and much more comfortable seats.
bad customer service and rude entitled employees in the train staff, specifically in the s-bahn
What I did not like about it is that the app is confusing. And their conductors will not let you buy a ticket from them directly. They will fine you if you get the wrong ticket and will treat you like you are up to no good. I had a terrible experience with them. I ended up being penalized for €105. I tried to ask for a refund but did not succeed. They apologized but I did not get my refund. Try to buy the tickets well in advance and be extra careful with choosing the discount subcategories in the app. It’s a trap!!
Worst experience I've ever had
Worst experience I've ever had! I booked a seater space and wanted to upgrade. On the website it says you have to do that at the station by asking one of the staff. When the train arrived I asked the conductor on the platform who was rude, impatient and not helpful at all. He proceeded to tell me that it can't be done and I should have done this before I got to the station. For a foreigner who's unfimiliar with the system I expected the staff employed by the company to at least be able to help you. Once on the train there was no space for my bag as the other passengers already occupied all the spaces. I asked the same conductor if there was anywhere else I could stow them. He proceeded to just scan my ticket and walk on. Suffice it to say I got off at the next station because what am I supposed to do for 12 hours with my bag in the passage. For anyone else wanting to do the trip from hell, this is for you. Not only will you be booked in a cramped space locking knees with strangers but you get to have a hard seat, zero sleep and tons of noise. Would definitely not recommend the nightjet or OBB to anyone.
