stuck in a foreign city for 2 days

I was stuck in a foreign city for 2 days due a flight cancellation, during a trip I had covered with Tin Leg insurance. I made a claim for about $50 to cover my expenses there, comparable to what I paid for the insurance in the first place. However, they refused to even cover that small claim. This insurance is completely worthless.

TinLeg. Big Disappointment.

It was a big disappointment to buy a TinLeg Gold Policy to get covered during my trip through Europe and Turkey.
I have had two situations. A flight delay for about 5 hours and I got sick in Europe needing to return home before the programmed day.
Claims department requested documentation that I provided promptly. However, in three different emails, they continued to request more documentation besides the 16 documents I already submitted. I didn’t have more!
They stated that some of the documentation I provided does not suffice for what is needed for my claim.
There was not clear intention from their side to make an easy process so I decided to withdraw my claim which was accepted and processed immediately. Big disappointment :(

Easy to compare but not straightforward

Easy to compare policies side by side , BUT the pricing strategy is not straightforward. There is no way to get everything you might want among the choices. Either opt for better medical and medical evacuation or better "smaller item" coverage for trip delay, baggage delay, etc.

They never get back to my claim, it's a complete scam.

My flight was canceled, so I had to change my flight and delay my trip. I filed my claim once I got back, Tin Leg sent me an acknowledgement email, but they NEVER get back to me again. It has already been two years. This company is a total scam.

Disturbing lack of accountability - should be avoided

Our travel plans changed, and we immediately requested to either amend the policy or cancel it for a refund. The company took over two weeks to respond—an inexcusable delay that signals not just poor service, but a complete disregard for the customer. The absence of real-time support and the rigid, unhelpful response point to a business model built on inflexibility and indifference. After reading other similar complaints—which I now regret not seeing sooner—it’s clear this isn’t a one-off but a pattern. This company operates with a disturbing lack of accountability and should be avoided.

Extremely difficult to work with. Not worth the money.

Their process is very complicated and they expect an extreme amount of work for such a small amount of money. Definitely not worth it. They cost more than some other travel insurance companies I have used in the past yet they are so much more difficult to work with. I purchased this insurance just in case of emergency, and I think having my husband pass away is an emergency. They are requiring I have each one of the doctors involved in his care fill out a form, include medical documentation and then email them directly. No doctor is going to waste time doing that when they are already swamped. I sent in letters from the doctors and proof that he had actually died but that wasn’t good enough. I am guessing they do this (make it extremely difficult) so you give up and move on. I am about to do that. My time right now is worth much more than a few hundred dollars.
