My son has the original Ollie the owl which is amazing and we still use this for calm at 3 years old. I bought the deluxe for my new baby thinking the product would be better but they have infact made it worse. With the deluxe you have to cycle through all the sounds every time....rather than using the hands and feet so my baby wakes everytime with the change of noises. You are also unable to change the volume without opening up the back and taking out the sensor. With the old model you press the hands and feet to do this. Really disappointed with the changes to the product will return and see if I can source an old model

It is really bad not loud atall is it ment to be like that Ellie the owl
I very rarely leave reviews for products but felt I should with this one. Whilst the crysensor technology is fantastic and has really helped to settle my girl on multiple occassions, I can’t help but think it could certainly be improved. Its not very user friendly, especially in the dark in the middle of the night. Fumbling with the velcro is a nightmare and its not easy to get the device back inside the teddy! For the Crysensor to work, you have to let it run once, no just ‘switching on’ and being good to go. Not helpful if baby is already asleep and is woken up by it! In reality, you could get away with just using the device and being rid of the teddy itself. The night light feature is not worth buying it for if thats a selling point for you. Its barely visible. Invest in a stand alone night light.
I wanted to post an honest review after having used both the original Ollie the Owl and the newer one with our second born. The original hands down is better than the newer version and hope some of this helps other shoppers/future produces. All controls on the original, volume, sound change are accessible from the outside. Even my toddler learnt how to do it himself by the time he was 2. The sound when on cry sensor also starts off quieter and gradually increases. Both of these features are lost on the newer model. Volume control is on the inside of the newer owl, so you have to get through the back velcro to access. If you're like me and turn the white noise or lullabies down a bit in the night as it's too loud when room sharing, the velcro on the back is very loud, when you're trying to be quiet around a sleeping baby. The velcro strap to attach the owl to the cot is also just not as strong as the original and has been knocked off and into the cot many times in the night but this never happened with the original which we still have and use. Finally as I mentioned the sounds have no gradual increase in volume on the newer model, so when turned on with the cry sensor, it can startle. We've used both Owls every night with both our children (3yo & 9month old) but I would always suggest purchasing the original over the newer one.
Looks nice, but the sound quality is awful - especially the heartbeat which is the sound we wanted to use. We have the old model Ollie the Owl which we love and expected the panda to sound the same. Bought in May and only just charged it in time for the baby arriving next week to now find out the sound is not good enough to use and it’s too late to return it.
Lovely, soft appearance and design but very poor quality sounds and music, horrible tone and sound quality. We have had Bennie the Bear in the old design for our older child and much prefer the sounds and music used for that one. We also prefer the function of pressing his hands and feet for music/light/sounds than the new design of pressing the tummy.
Really great but the owl makes a really annoying “Ooh Oooh” every few seconds whilst playing the white noise. Would be so much better without!
This was purchased for our second child, with the first we used an alternative brand but I so wish this was available then too! It’s beautiful, the light isn’t too bright, it gives off a nice glow and I LOVE how the unit is rechargeable - goodbye 1001 batteries! My eldest now wants one so I’ll be purchasing another

A real game changer. It was so difficult to get my 8 week old to sleep anywhere but on me now with Ollie the owl deluxe she goes in her crib and sleeps soundly only waking for feeds. A real life saver!!!
