Avoid this product like the plague. We thought we were being smart and kind to our future selves by buying this before the birth of our newborn. One less thing to think about. Well he is here and not even a week old this has broken. Followed the instructions to a tee and yet the base has warped and the heating element has gone brown and covering things in a rusty, brown coloured water. Took something that is supposed to help a new parent and instead made it infinitely more hassle. Do yourself and your baby a favour and opt for a microwave one or UV one.

The steriliser is not what I expected, especially when it comes to ease of use and quality. I have used it and you need precision in order to do it, especially with the top shelf not being a perfect fit and the lids that you can place on the sides preventing the steriliser to close (which is against the "24h sterilised products when lid is closed). Often having to start rearranging. After using it twice, the metal already has stains (bottled water used). Will have to replace with some other product. When the steriliser lid comes off, the counter is getting full of water, there's no space to let that water go. I would avoid unfortunately. I feel that I need something fast, that doesn't need a second or third look, perhaps a "click" system to know lid is on properly and a second shelf that does not need holding when adding items on it.
Im very disappointed with this steriliser. I had one for my first baby and had no issues but the one I bought for my second baby is needing de scaled every day. Even with using different de scaler solutions this is not removing the build up on the metal plate and is making my babys bottles smelling burnt and has constant brown stuff on them. I have had to buy a replacement as its unsafe to use for sterilising bottles
I purchased the Tommee Tippee steam steriliser for my first-born child after doing a lot of research and choosing a brand I believed I could trust. Unfortunately, I am extremely disappointed with this product. Despite following the instructions carefully and cleaning the steriliser the recommended number of times, the metal plate at the bottom consistently gives off a strong burning smell during use. This is deeply concerning, especially for a product designed for newborn feeding equipment. Even more worrying, the bottles have started to turn brown after repeated sterilising. As a parent, this makes me feel completely unsafe. I do not feel comfortable giving my child bottles that come out of a steriliser producing a burning smell and visible discolouration.
I am not quite sure when this steriliser was brought, possibly the start of the year. We've used it since July. It is now December. At first it wasn't so bad however maybe for the past month or so we are having to deep clean it every single time we use it with white vinegar. On the product descriptions it says how often to clean it, which means that it should not be getting dirty this quickly. I am extremely disappointed in this product. The photo which I have attached is after it had been deep cleaned this morning & bottles had been put in there to be cleaned. Upon taking it out this is what I'm greeted with. Again may I add this is every single time the steriliser is turned on.
I would say this and all other products of this brand are useless and faulty, they just have a good marketing team but a stupid research team who makes such a useless products , though being costly they still aren't worth better to go with a local brand I would say that would be much better ...never ever buy any of these eve if they are good looking
Okay after reading the reviews I was skeptical. The instructions for the product should be more detailed and specific. We have worked out the best way to use it so if you want to know the best care for this product please read below! We used it the first time and it got scaled immediately. You have to treat this machine like a glass kettle. DO NOT USE TAP WATER. (We live in Kent and our tap water is pure chalk) Use filtered water, you won’t have to descale it as often. And make sure you empty and dry the machine immediately. Don’t let the water sit there. Once we started using water from our simple water filter we now only descale it once every couple of weeks for maintenance. TO DESCALE: Get yourselves a big pack of oust descaler from Amazon. (Cheap and will last you ages) Add like a teaspoon of the descaler into the 80mls of water and run the machine a couple times. Then make sure you empty and dry the sterilser thoroughly. I will say that the product saying it takes just 5 minutes is misleading. Yes the sterilisation takes 5 minutes. Drying the bottles is also difficult especially when you’ve just sterilised the bottles and are trying not to contaminate them again. You need a clean, dry tea towel, if you leave them to drip dry it’ll take over an hour. You also need to empty and dry the machine straight away to avoid scaling. It’s finnicky business for new, tired parents. I wouldn’t recommend this product to busy parents. Where 5-30 minutes doesn’t sound like a long time, it is when you have a baby, let alone multiple. If you have the time and patience to have this machine then go for it. It’s like a mini dishwasher and as long as you look after it it’s super helpful. If you’re a single parent, got 2 under 2, have a busy life in general or simply just don’t have the time to keep the machine running then it’s way more effort than it’s worth. Just boil some water and clean your babies bottles the old fashioned way there’s nothing wrong with it! Hope this helps <3
I bought it 6 months back for new born with so much money why U guys make it applicable up to 260 ml bottles it should be 36ml at least now when I started the 360ml tommee tippee it is clumsy and shaky it bought it for 75£ on a offer I really regret it. For elder I used peigan one it is even working till now she is seven I gave it to my sister in law it was all good up to 460 ml tommee tippee with just 15£ seven years back it must be around 35£ now. Never recommended waste of so much money they should make it for all it it's bottle range
This is an edit to my earlier review on 25 September. I had a prompt response to contact them again to try and resolve the issue. After telling us to air dry the bottles which I pointed out was not documented they then tried to tell us we were using the wrong vinegar. After sending photos which shows the correct vinegar being used their next excuse was we were not descaling it long enough. We should have been doing it for 24 hours . There is no way you can have the unit out of action for 24 hours every week. They then asked for further photos. By this time my daughter couldn’t take anymore and said let’s leave it. I then remembered I bought it from John Lewis . We contacted them by email and within 12 hours they contacted us and said yes it was a manufacturing fault and to bring it back. Well done John Lewis . That’s is 5 star costumer service. I have tommee tile one star as you have to give them something. I would give it 0 if I could.
Bought this for my daughter in may. She gave birth beginning September and tried to breast feed but wasn’t working so went on to bottle and used the steriliser. She had used it for 1 week and was starting to give off a burning smell. She had followed all instructions, throughly cleaning bottles , rinsing them add to the steriliser . Put in 80 mls water and ran the programme . Wiped down all surfaces afterwards . She read the instructions and it said to descale with distilled vinegar . She used a food safe one but still smelt of burning. She reached out to Tommy tippee who didn’t want to know . Told her it was due to milk residue even though bottles had been thoroughly cleaned, wiped down after use and the steriliser had been descaled after one week . Do not touch this product . For the cost at £80 to get 6 uses out of it is disgusting . And the customer service trying to tell her it was her own fault and wasn’t using it correctly even though she had followed all instructions clearly. She was told she had to air dry the bottles before putting them into the steriliser. No where in their instructions does it say this
Don’t buy it stay away. Shame to the customers service let you think it’s your fault, when the reality the product is poor quality and dangerous for your baby. Stay away

Do not recommend. Heat plate has burned and constantly has a brown residue after each use despite regular cleaning and descaling as per instructions. Can hardly be sterilising baby items with rust or whatever. have been back and forth over a number of days with Tommee Tippee customer service who refuse to offer a repair or replacement. Looking at other reviews this is a well known and common problem with the product. AVOID!
We purchased this steriliser a month ago and it works perfectly! It does the job and the price you pay for it is reasonable as well.
The bottom tray cracked within less than a month of using, we assume the heating element was faulty.
AVOID at all costs! I brought this as part of a set and the bottom tray warped, and the heating element burnt. I used it for just over 48 hours and the result pointless emails and time wasted to be told that it was my fault and not an issue with the machine.. which I find strange considering that the bottles were washed ans rinsed prior to being put in to the machine.. obvisiously reading all the reviews means that every single user thats had the same issue is at fault. Will not recommend, however I really do recommended the Dr Browns steriliser funnily enough I have uses this for 48+hours using the same technique washing and rinsing the bottles and guess what. it hasnt warped not has the heating element burnt.. but obvisiously it's user error. not cheap manufacturing materials. AVOID At all costs. read and trust the reviews. shameful customer service Tommee Tippee! shameful and dangerous product AVOID.. I wait to hear of a house fire that has been caused by one of these..
Faulty machines made my baby sick and customer service is atrocious. Doesn’t allow me to add photos - convenient for tommee tippee - although mine is the same as the ones already posted. Wouldn’t even give this 1 star. Made my newborn baby very sick. Machines are completely faulty and tommee tippee refuse to take any accountability and make excuses. Faulty machines contaminate baby bottles. Tried 2 of these machines as the first one went completely brown on the plate after being used for a while. Instructions were followed perfectly. Ordered a second machine incase I had done something wrong with the first one (even though I know I didn’t and am very OCD with hygiene and things being clean as possible especially for my baby) but even from first sterilisation of the machine before it was even used the plate was completely scaled. The residue these machines make completely defeats the whole object of sterilising. The worst steriliser going and service when raising the issues is worse than terrible.
Anyone who’s steriliser is brown or full of limescale clearly hasn’t followed basic instructions and hygiene I’m now using mine for my second baby so the steriliser is 2 years old and still in perfect condition and still looks new, it tells you to descale regularly and how much water to add you should also be adding FRESH water each time you go to sterilise bottles looking threw these reviews a lot of people quite clearly don’t clean and dry the base after each use and descale regularly, I do mine once a week it’s really not hard to do. This is mine after just being on. People leaving 1 star reviews for their own mistake & laziness.
We have had the same problem as everyone else, the plate at the bottom has burnt. We have followed the instruction perfectly and made sure bottles are cleaned thoroughly before sterilising
I brought this roughly 2/3 months ago. My newborn is nearly 3 weeks and I’ve been using this everyday. The bottom is burnt and there’s an awful burning smell coming from it when it’s used.
Have used this steriliser for just over 3 weeks. The rack had warped and now I only have the base plate to store all bottles and teats on. There is no where to purchase a replacement rack either. It is quick to use but the baseplate is easily scaled/burned and cannot be cleaned easily. I am questioning how safe this product is to use
