Brought a mincer for $200 upon using for the first time it had clear issues and while putting though meat, it had horrific sounds and died after load.
Brought it back in store to have it looked at after we emailed back and forth and I sent a video of mince being put through it showing the issue and them telling me that “the piece of meat is too big” even though it was only a small amount of mince in the video, didn’t hear anything back over a week so called up and they told us the gear box and casing was damaged and that’s due to “overload” from us so now that means it I not under warranty, when we asked for them to show how it could be our fault they were quick to say no about that..
If we want the mincer back we have to pay to have it back aswell as we have paid for the mincer with no refund when it was CLEAR it was not our fault
Knowing very well they can rebuild it and sell it to someone else at our expense. Never dealing with these people again, at the end of the day they sure know how to take peoples money and not refund due to their faulty terrible products.

Bought a couple of quite expensive…
Bought a couple of quite expensive items on line as they didn’t have them in store, upon receiving them, I quickly realised I had bought the wrong ones and contacted the Hornby store to swap then for the correct ones when they had then in stock, which wasn’t a problem. They contacted me on Thursday last week to say they had them in stock now so on Monday went to swap them over. And wouldn’t swap them over because of a 15 day return policy! I explained the situation- it took 7 days to arrive to me, the items are brand new and have never left the boxes, and they didn’t have it in stock until Thursday last week but because it was 22 days since I placed the order online they couldn’t do a thing about it. Absolutely hopeless!

Wow I've been reading so many bad reviews , they should go to the Hamilton store the staff in their are so friendly and helpful If I had an issue with anything it was replaced no questions asked. My only problem is no cash so I have to put money in the bank before I go shopping 🙄the people that are complaining probably gave staff bad attitude so they got it back be respectful to staff and they are happy to help
Topmaqs dodgy review system
Brought the nordic 350nm impact wrench skin as I already had batteries I thought I'd give it a go. Was dubious when I was looking at it in the store as the lower rated impact wrench was larger in size. Then looking at the impact driver that had the exact sane body was also curious if it was exactly the same internally with just the different head on the end. Bit the bullet anyway, how bad could it possibly be.
Had a test at home to do with it to test it's limitations to see if it would actually do what it was rated for.
Tried undoing my rear axle nut on my motorbike, done up to 250nm with a torque wrench. Wouldn't budge it. I undone it with a breaker bar and then started tightening it up in 10nm increments until the impact wrench wouldn't touch it. Got a consistent 180-190nm.
Same tightening and loosening torque with the impact wrench.
Wrote a review on the website on the tool. When it finally went online on the topmaq website they had modified my review.
I put 2 stars, they changes it to 3 stars, I wrote 180-190nm n maybe 200 if you held it onthere for awhile. They changed it to 280-290nm n 300nm if you held it on for awhile. I was suspicious about the review system as there was no negative reviews on the tools.
I wouldn't be surprised if they've put positive reviews on here to bump up the overall star rating. I've emailed them telling them how disappointing it is to have them modify my review and that we all have the right to make honest reviews. Will see what they come back with

Bought a Nordic 18v drill. I have quite a few tools in this range so was surprised at the poor performance of this drill. Very weak and wouldn't drill through anything without binding up. Maybe ok if you're drilling a hole once in a blue moon but not ok for regular use. I emailed and asked if I could return it and then upgrade to the brushless version, had to muck about providing a video and email comms went on and on with Topmaq lecturing me about how great everyone thinks this drill is and denying it is not fit for purpose. So, they lost a sale on a more expensive drill and lost me as a customer. A product has to be fit for purpose and of reasonable quality under the Consumer Guarantees Act. Topmaq think they're above the law.
