It's a scam. Do not buy it

It's a scam. They will say that your phone is compatible on the website after you enter the IMEI, but once you buy the sim card and try it on your device, after you pay the plan online $40 it will say that your phone is not compatible anymore. It's horrible experience, such a shame. Why do companies do this kind of stuff to people just to earn money.

STAY AWAY WHATEVER YOU DO CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A NIGHTMARE!!!

Calling into their customer support and technical support team's suck. I hate calling into them. Also, when I have to make a payment that was due on automatic payment plan and it fails, I have tried going in and updating my card information and then my funds ALWAYS goes into the stupid "wallet" that they have started using this year. That payment is supposed to be for the current payment but isn't taken out until your following payment and it shuts the phone off. In order to fix this, you have to call customer service, and they have to go in and transfer the money from the wallet and then apply it to the balance due. THEN they have to deactivate your phone and reactivate your phone in order for your phone to work again. Then you have to do a shutdown of your phone and hope it's been reactivated. I spent more than 2 HOURS on the phone with the morons yesterday. I had had enough of it all and told them I didn't want to continue my service with them because they couldn't figure out what the first person did. I kept demanding a refund and demanding to speak with a manager. They just kept telling me that they could fix this and that there weren't any managers available I had to talk to 4 different people. Finally, 24 hours later my service had been restored but when I went to log in it said no devices was connected to this account. I had to call them again took another 45min just to resolve that issue. I told the representative that after all of this I should be getting a free month and all she could say was how sorry she was and she could understand. PLEASE!!!! I'm so sick of hearing that from all of them. I will be looking for another carrier next month. If I could give them NEGATIVE 10 stars I would.

Don’t even think about it !!

Had been using Total Wireless for years and just recently ordered a new phone from them for a family member. They were unable to get both the data and text working together after more than 25 calls and almost 5 hours on the phone with them. I could go on and on about that experience but not enough time. Finally told them I’m sending the phone back. Had to pay 25 dollars to ship it back and then never received another phone or a refund. Unbelievable!! Should hire a lawyer but just wanted to be done with it. Too much stress. Dont even think about using them.

Horrible/unprofessional

Horrible. Customer service reps are not empowered to do anything to help. I’ve set to autopay, and multiple times It did not pay and unknown to me I was left without service. Also, it has been 30 days and I am still waiting for a refund for a phone that I returned and didn’t use. They have no records of it and put everything on me as far as tracking and giving THEM info for one of their products. Like they literally have no record of a $300 phone they sent to me. So incredibly inept and incompetent. It is beyond insulting how they treat their customers.

Stellar Customer Service

On 11/3/25 I went to total located in Giddings, TX after I had gone to TMobile and Cricket. I was in a cellular emergency state. I was with Metro PC at the time. There's no Metro PC in Giddings. I can't remember the young man's name, but let me tell you...He went above and beyond! I'm talking about stellar customer service! Yessss. I am a new business woman in the town and he literally saved my professional life! Not to mention Total was 45% cheaper than TMobile and Cricket and could do what they couldn't. They are alright with me.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! I wish I would have read the previous reviews from all the other disgruntled customers. Everything they say is true, and worse.
I had a very simple transfer situation. Moved from Verizon (who, by the way, OWN Total Wireless), to a new phone and line from TW. I've changed carriers plenty of time in the past and it's usually a 5 minute process to activate the old number on the new device and carrier. Oh boy, was I wrong. I'm on day 7 now, and still nothing. I've made at least 15 calls (averaging close to an hour each), totaling over 13 hours of re-explaining, again and again. Add to this a few hours with their online chat support, and oh, a visit to my nearest TW store. Where I was basically shouted out of the store, 'because we don't deal with online purchased phones'.
The customer service staff are actually really friendly but have no clue how to fix simple issues. There's no real escalation process either, they just 'rinse and repeat' the same 'solutions' (which don't work). And every time you think you're nearly there, they tell you there's only one step left, which is the 'fourth department' (???), who will finalize the activation. Believe me, this '4th' department either does not exist, or has a back-log of a year. I've been put on hold for over an hour and a half, disconnected twice and then I decided to request a call back. After 6 hours of waiting, still nothing.
Then on my last call with the normal customer service team (which I'm still in right now as I'm foolishly and desperately still hopeful), it transpired they lost my entire account! Wait what now? I had to recreate my entire account again. Insane. Still no resolution of course.
So after 7 days of trying, I'm still phoneless. And at a real risk of losing my old number. Which nowadays is a real killer, especially with dual factor verification processes, where, in order to change your mobile number, you need to call all your providers (because they can't verify you anymore via SMS on your old number).
Final note: I wasn't even attracted by the so-called lower prices that TW offers (as mentioned in many reviews). In my experience they're not that much different from anyone else. Apart from a favorable very short contract (3 months), after which you're free to go. Which I will absolutely, 200% for sure, do. Although I'm pretty sure that process will be as nightmarish as trying to activate the line...

Buyer be ware

Buyer be ware. I moved from another carrier cause Total promised great prices and coverage. Prices are slightly better, but coverage is miserable. Could no longer get service in my vack yard!
The issue with me are the lies from customer service. One phone number, no higher supervision or even a finance department to go over payments or refinds......there are NO REFUNDS. My phones will be unlocked on 03 Dec. My payment date is 01 Dec.....and guess what, when I transfer the service out of Total Wireless on the 3rd, I do not get a prorated refund. I have to pay up front and they keep the whole amount. DO NOT FALL INTO THIS TRAP!! Avoid Total's slightly lower prices. Make sure you ask about refunds, coverage, arbitration, etc.
Better yet, just stay away from Total entirely.....

Disney Plus Activation with Card Does Not Work!

We purchased the 5G card that included 6 months of Disney plus. When trying to activate the subscription, there is an error from the Total Wireless webpage, and the link texted to me from 611611 never works. I've spent at least 6 hours on the phone with them, trying to get it activated and have been told that help tickets were submitted and that it was fixed. I just had to wait an hour for their system to reset. It is still not working and it is extremely frustrating. Beware buyers!!!

Their verification process is bullshit

Their verification process is bullshit. 4 hours counting trying to validate account which should be a 123 process. At this point it looks as if I have to abandon my phone number because they have the most ridiculous validation methods that are simply not feasible. Tried 3 different ways and none worked. How is an account holder unable to verify his own account? That's a good question. That blows my mind. After setting up my new phone on wifi, I was able to access cash app, cryptocurrency accounts of mine, uber account, my banking and like 5 or 6 other accounts thru proper validation. Only total wireless has the biggest pos bureaucratic process that will keep you out

Where you get lies but no supervisors…

Salesperson lied about phone being unlocked. They will not give me a receipt. Called 3 times. 1. Told salespeople are on commission and they will say whatever they have to to make a sale. I will have to wait for active service for 60 days. Call dropped.
2. Since first payment is due on the 1st, not 30 days as I was told, I paid $60 for the first 3 weeks, then $40 for the next month, and now a full $40 for the 7 days left to have the phone active. Waited for supervisor over an hour. Not on hold, but the service rep claiming he has to walk over to the supervisor and she knows I was waiting. He then told me that he can schedule a callback from the supervisor. I fell for it.
3. They are telling me that I activated the phone in July but have only made one payment. Holding again. 55 minutes.

All of this and I never signed any agreements.

Don't trust them

I got a $200 phone from them which they said they would pay me back for with 10, $20 credits starting at the third month.
Now, at the third month, no credit. Customer service said they could only help if I provided a link to the long expired promotion.
Verizon knows their rates are only competitive with incentives. They just take your money and could care less.

I'm actually really upset with this company Total wireless if your phone glitches or anything they will not send you your new phone until you send the old one back and sometimes people don't have anything to back it up so I'm actually really not happy. And I will not be going back to this company I will be transferring over to a different company by the end of this month and I will not have this phone anymore which really sucks cuz I really like it.
