Great customer service - very helpful, informative and honest. Got the car I wanted at the price I wanted.
From the first call through the whole process, Adam was really helpful. I like the confidence with which he talks about his cars. he sure knows what he is doing. Nice, thorough and understanding guy. I totally recommend.
Reading the previous report, it sounds horrendous, however I bought a 2012 BMW 520d from there at a good price, got a 6 month warranty which is just coming to an end, and the car has been faultless. I could not be more pleased, it has not missed a beat. So can only speak as I find, but my transaction was friendly and courteous. What more can I say.
Touchwood Motors is a small single person business who sells sub standard cars from a small backstreet plot on a view by appointment basis. The owner who calls himself Adam (NOT his real name) sold my daughter a Mazda CX-5 with numerous faults. Within weeks of driving it away it developed serious mechanical issues. It was taken to a nearby garage who carried out a cursory inspection, confirmed the head gasket had failed and even condemned the brakes which were seized. Touchwood after weeks of discussions finally recovered the vehicle, held it for several weeks and returned it in a condition which made it even more unsafe to drive.
A further inspection and data check by two independent garages revealed that 3 of the ABS sensors were faulty, a major turbo oil feed pipe had been badly repaired with plastic metal, the cabin was filling with exhaust fumes, water was leaking from the turbo gate area and there was a serious issue with the steering. We therefore rejected the car on the grounds that it was unroadworthy, not fit for purpose and actually unsafe.
Despite this Adam (NOT his real name) refused to accept the rejection and only after EIGHT months of emails, calls, and finally an interjection by the finance company legal team did we manage to get part of the monies which we had paid for the car. So, in a nutshell I would very strongly advise you AVOID Touchwood Motors at all costs. He sells cars which may not be mechanically sound and in fact could be very dangerous. He then denies all responsibility and will do everything he can to delay and frustrate a legal rejection of the car.
I strongly “suspect” he simply buys cars from an auction, gives them a clean and then sells them in any condition and without any credible mechanical inspection without a conscience, in this case to a single mother with small children.
Touchwood motors in my opinion epitomises and actually confirms the stereotypical view of a backstreet car dealer who’s only intention is to make money from selling substandard cars.
