Absolutely worst customer service…

Absolutely worst customer service experience i’ve ever had. They advertise 5G speed, but either do not support all of ATTs same 5G network or they cannot understand my issue. I live in the city of Denver which is covered in 5G on att’s network but when using my town broadband service only get LTE coverage. what a scam. literally hours and hundreds of dollars wastes on this service which isn’t as advertised. if you’re expecting 5G coverage on their network, look elsewhere for your service.

Edit to my review in repose to theirs below:

this is exactly the run around they’ve been giving me. when i use my att sim card in the SAME device in the SAME location, i connect to att’s 5G network. i’m in a major city that is COMPLETELY COVERED IN 5G. This has truly been infuriating to deal with.

Edit 2: since they don’t know when to stop, i’m going to make another response so that real consumers don’t end up with this terrible company if they’re looking for true 5G service on their hotspot. the website they continuously tell me to refer to for coverage is cellmapper.net. this website used crowd sourced information to represent their coverage. when you choose Att on this website there are two options. one called AT&T and another called AT&T mobility. why this website has this segregation in their filter, i don’t know, but if one chooses the At&t mobility option, it clearly shows that my address on file with town broadband has 5G coverage. when i use my AT&T sim card in my netgear nighthawk m6 pro device, i can see in the administrative menus that it connects to 5G bands and service. i then can put my town broadband SIM card in the device and the network type changes to 5Ge which is “enhanced LTE” on AT&Ts network. Checking in the same administrative menu, i can see that the bands being used fall back to LTE bands, even though my device FOR SURE supports these bands on AT&T’s network and this device FOR SURE connects to the appropriate 5G bands when my actual AT&T SIM is in the device.

secondly, i implore all prospective customers to check on ATT’s website for how they report their coverage. ATT shows that Denver is COMPLETELY COVERED IN 5G. to quote them and their response below, “THIS IS A FACT”

here’s another fact as well. the fact that these tech support agents are stating that there is no 5G tower near me is asinine. I can LITERALLY SEE THIS TOWER WITH MY EYES. i am in line of sight with the tower.

so yeah, please don’t let their company take your money unless you’re willing to compromise with LTE coverage on ATTs network. i’ve never had the displeasure of having to adamantly explain to someone i’m giving my money to how their technology is supposed to work.

and just FYI, i worked for AT&T for 3 years 2016-2019. i’m very familiar with their service and 5G roll out.

THIS IS NOT A RUN AROUND, YOU DON'T HAVE A 5G TOWER CLOSE BY, CHECK FOR YOURSELF ON CELLMAPPER.NET, THIS IS A FACT. I have checked your case and could see that we sent you an extended explanation regarding your concern, unfortunately your area doesn't have any 5G tower as per cellmapper.net. The technology logo you see next to the signal bars (3G, 4G or 5G) is sent by the carrier and they can customize it as they wish, when you see 5G on your screen doesn't mean you are really connected to a 5G network, with AT&T it just means you are connected to the next 4G LTE network generation, the only way to find out where 5G towers are available is by looking at the tower map in your proximity. At the moment 5G towers are still being deployed across the country. Our service works on the same AT&T network as any other device and offers access to the latest networks they have to offer in each location including 5G when available. I don't know how you don't understand…

I don't know how you don't understand that something isn't late until the day after the due date. My bill was paid on the due date but it was your company that charged an extra $15 because my credit card company denied your charge thinking you was a scam and trying to protect me.
Yes you reversed the charge but it's not the point. My bill was not late.

As stated in my last reply: the late fee is added automatically to all failed payments (regardless of reason) and the late fee is part of our terms and conditions to which you agreed upon placing your order. Also, as explained before we will reverse any late fee that were caused by card issuers incorrectly flagging payments as unauthorized like in your case. There is no scam if our payment policies are clearly stated in our TOS and we reversed the late fee when you contacted us. I think your opinion is unfounded and undeserved when we didn't do anything wrong and the error was caused by your card issuer.

Best internet for rural areas hands down!

I found out about this company through a friend that's been with them for a long time, after I moved to Homestead, my friend recommended them because they have shown to have good customer care and their internet service has worked very well for him. I am new to the area and the only internet service available for me was satellite internet which is not unlimited and costs a lot of money for a slow speed. Since my friend gave me a promo code that discounted my order $25 and they offer 7 day money back guarantee I decided to give it a try. I am getting consistently 60Mbs+ download and upload speed which is not perfect but it's much better and for less money than satellite. So far I like Town Broadband and I think I will stay with them until something else shows up for a better rate but for now count me in as a happy customer.

Scam. Stay away!

I doubt this company is legitimate. I ordered service and it took two weeks to get the hotspot. They charged me for the first month service and the hotspot the day I placed the order. So, I already lost 2 weeks. Now, I tested the speed of the service within a 20 mile radius of my house. Speeds never got above 2mbps. I called the to cancel the service and get a refund because this is useless at those speeds. Especially for $100 a month. They told me to fill out a ticket. I did and now they are arguing with me on email about troubleshooting. Which I already did all of that because the hardware wasn't working when I first got it. I called several times and they keep telling me they are "looking into it" regarding a refund. Now I probably have to eat the $350 and cancel my card for automatic billing. Stay away from this company!!! They are a scam! Every time you call they are in some other country and no clue as to how to reach someone in the USA.

We are sorry you had a bad experience with your order, we check every order against fraud to protect our busienss and customers, maybe your order had an issue and that's why it was delayed, but don't worry, while we investigate any possible problem your account is on hold and no service days are lost, we also offer a 7-day money back guarantee to make sure our service works fine in your area. On a different note, I searched for your name in our system and could not find any record so I can't help you further, I recommend contacting us directly either by chat or phone so we can look at your case and offer you assistance.

Go anywhere but here! Run!

I had this service for a year with no problems, then all of a sudden I get an email saying my service was being cancelled immediately due to data over usage (I had the unlimited plan) so please tell me in what world how I over used unlimited data?! I tried to get ahold of customer service, but surprise surprise their phones are out of service! Wow you guys are the scammiest company I ever heard of! I should have checked the BBB site before signing up because they are not accredited and there were so many bad reviews. Still haven’t received my refund for them canceling my service despite it literally just being renewed I got one month on my year payment give me back my money!
