Paid, No Delivery, No Response – Beware!

Total scam. No email acknowledgment after placing the online order, which is already suspicious. No SIM card received after three weeks (despite their claim that delivery takes 7–12 business days).

Called the first time— the representative asked for my email and said she would send me an email, but I never received one. Called a second time— the representative asked for my phone number and said she would call me back, but I never received a call. Called a third time— no answer. Emailed the company— no response.

Avoid this company at all costs.

Cannot use text or make phone calls…

Cannot use text or make phone calls from Japan. Bot a physical SIM card and data plan from Transatel after a referral from Ubigi because I have a Galaxy A-13 phone. I have attempted to call Transatel and have emailed them
with no response. A total waste of
time and money.

The card worked eventually but it did…

The card worked eventually but it did not activate automatically and I had to contact support for help which they managed to sort out eventually. Disapointing experience as the card works over the Digicel Network and their spec says it works in those places. Also the Digicel network was available when I tried to connect. The Transatel App doesn't work when connected to 3g/4G - just displays the Transatel front screen. Would not recommend this card. More trouble than it's worth.

I purchased the sim card for an Italian trip.

I purchased the sim card for an overseas trip, to be used in a mifi unit. There are no instructions for use in a mifi unit - only for apple, Android and Microsoft software. As I purchased an Italian data bundle, I guess I cannot test it in Auatralia before leaving. So, I guess we take a chance and hope it works in Italy. The lack of certainty is why I have given it the midrange score.

Do not use. Complete con

If I could give this no stars I would. Ordered a 1gb data sim for the carribbean in January for February departure. Did not activate the sim until the day before use. Found the sim was empty and no answer on the phone when trying to ring. Complete con. Thought I might have been protected by using PayPal but they found in thecsellers favour as it had been over 30 days since purchase

We bought two cards for Caribbean…

We bought two cards for Caribbean cruise and followed instructions to install and initial whilst at location. of course, at this stage (if things don't work as intended) it is virtually impossible (without wifi) to contact the supplier for a fix. And so it turned out to be! My card never worked (in fact showed 1gb consumed without me ever using it), my wife's worked for about 1 day and was then shown as fully consumed . Bearing in mind that at home we use about 1.5 gb / month. So not sure how much data you actually get with these 1gb cards. Probably best to avoid

Disappointing

I have been using Transatel for 3 years and their service has always been impeccable.

This year the sim was sent to the wrong address and in spite of it being rectified and re-sent a week ago I have still not received it. I have in effect been without a sim for the last 12 days which has inconvenienced me greatly

1Gb Data Sim

I bought a 1Gb data sim for my Caribbean cruise.
The card connected to the local network easily but I had the message saying there was no data.
I have tried to call customer services several times but it does not connect.
The email I sent a week ago has not been answered.
This SIM card is useless and a waste of money.
Do not buy!

Don't use this site

Don't use this site. We never received the Sim card. Tried to call them, it was wrong numbers. Hopeless..we were desperate until the ladt day before cruising and couldn't contact them.
No sim card from when we bought on 24/Oct until today 10/Nov.

SIM never worked properly in my laptop

SIM never worked properly in my laptop. Had some basic access but most sites wouldn't load at all. Tech Support was not helpful. Tested the SIM in my iPad and it worked fine, and tested another company's SIMs in my laptop and it worked fine, so there is just something about this service that is not working for laptops.

Misleading web page, slow contact to customer service

I wanted the card for Zimbabwe, which is advertised on their web page. When it arrived and I could active the according app, it turned out that Zimbabwe was not on offer any more (but still is on the web page). Also, tariffs in the app are partly higher than advertised on the web page.
I tried to reach the customer service, but never got a reaction. At the end I spent the money for nothing - luckily, not to much.
Also, after reception of the card, they send along a paper requesting ID and proof, threatening to disable the card after two weeks, if not received. I've no problem with that in general (might be a legal requirement in France), but, as well, you don't get this information before buying. Strangely, their companion eSim (Ubigi brand) does not require this type of proof.

Addendum: after publication of this review, instantly my payment was refunded, for which reason I raise the rating by one star; though, I find it a bit sad, that it had to be this way.
Nevertheless, there should by more transparency before purchase. Also, the web page should reflect the actual tariffs, as one apparently can't use the app (with the true tariffs) before having installed the Sim card. Our the app behavior should be changed.

Data SIM for Nokia 110 4G

I bought this to use with my Nokia 110 4G. This is not a smartphone and there seems to be a problem with obtaining the internet, despite the fact that the phone stated that it was OK. I had some help from Customer Service but, alas, life is too short and so I have given up on it and written the data SIM off as a bad job. I think Transatel should have identified the problem immediately. However, I have given three stars because they did reply promptly and did initially attempt to solve the problem.

Caribbean cruise through 6 ports

We travelled through the Caribbean on a 10 day cruise with 6 stops. I inserted the Sim card into our phone when we arrived at our first port of Tortola (BVI) and the phone started up and worked perfectly. We had full data service throughout the Island. The card worked in 4 of the 6 islands on our tour. It worked great in St Kitts, Antigua, and Grand Turks as well. It did not work in St Maarten nor did it work in St Thomas (US virgin islands) which I assume the last port is a US territory therefore under US service. I was surprised it did not work in St Maarten as it is independent or so we thought. I could see St Thomas being no service. We are from Canada and did not have a phone with a US service plan.
