My family and I travelled to Karesuando in Finland, flying direct from Cardiff with Polish airline Enter Air, and staying at the Davii Arctic Lodge in one of their Fell Houses.
The holiday delivered on all counts and was extremely well organised. In three days, we had a whirlwind taste of life in the frozen North, saw the Northern Lights and were stunned by the art carvings in the Ice Hotel (optional trip, 2hrs' drive each way into Sweden).
Luxury this was not, but it was clean, warm, comfortable and food was hearty and plentiful. Two of us are veggie, and they catered for us with no problem.
Tiny issues with the accommodation were resolved at first request and with good humour. The young guides were always about but not officious.

I would recommend this trip without hesitation.
(I am 70+, so maybe staying in the main hotel rather than with a 5-minute uphill walk to everything would have been better in hindsight, but I managed.)

Myself and my 30 year old daughter have just returned from 4 night Northern Lights tour at Davvi Arctic Lodge staying in one of the cabins. What an amazing holiday from checking in at airport to leaving Finland all Transun staff were excellent, organisation and safety on all the tours and activities was 100% included activities were excellent and also option of adding on extras if you choose, we added on trip to the Ice Hotel and evening husky ride both were great value and again amazing experiences. Accommodation was basic but clean and had everything that we needed. Hotel and food was excellent more than enough to eat and a varied choice. The suits and boots provided kept us very warm and dry throughout our stay. Transun staff always on hand to answer any questions. I can honestly say neither my daughter or myself could find one single fault with this holiday it was one of our top holidays superb value for money overall a fantastic experience 100% recommend Transun

This was our 2nd trip with Transun to search for the Northern Lights, and it was as fabulous as last year. The quality of the activities and the Davvi Arctic Lodge (the rooms, the staff and the food) along with the overall experience was superb. For what you get, it really is amazing value for money.

Had an amazing holiday with Transun at Davvi Arctic Lodge. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children and did the 4 night trip.

We stayed in Fell House which had 2 bedrooms and a living area. Lovely and warm with a porch area to dry your snow suits and boots. A short walk up to the hotel for all your meals which were good. 3 choices for lunch and evening meal and we enjoyed all the food. Breakfast is a choice of cooked, cereals, porridge, yoghurt and fruit.

Really well organised timetable of activities that were included in the package we booked plus extras you could book on arrival. We chose to have some downtime instead of booking extra and sledged, walked over to Sweden and walked the trails around the site.

We did snow shoeing, snow mobiling, husky sledding, a reindeer farm visit with a ride and a forest trek. Each activity was great and our favourites were the huskies and snow mobiles. All the instructors were great with so much knowledge and experience and super friendly too.

We were lucky enough to see the northern lights for 2 nights as well as star gaze. The stars are so bright because there’s very little light pollution.

Totally wonderful, magical holiday that we’ll always remember!

Fantastic 5 day lapland finland northen lights trip.
We were looked after very well from friendly reps, great hotel staff. Hotel food excellent. Organised trips we did were well organised and fun. Even saw northen lights 3 nights out of four.

Brilliantly organised trip. Helpful and kind staff at all times. Wonderful accommodation at the Davvi Lodge - we stayed in the Fell House which was spacious and comfortable.
The excursions far exceeded our expectations. The husky sled for example was incredible. The snowmobiles were brand new and the staff were incredible instructors as well as being great people. Nothing was too much trouble. There was plenty of food to eat and an itinerary arranged that suited us perfectly. Can’t recommend the trip highly enough. I would say it was the best holiday of my life (so far!).

We have just come back off the Northern Lights Arctic Adventure. It was absolutely amazing from start to finish. After reading some reviews, I was a bit worried. My advice is to take no notice. The activities were well organised. Hotel and the rep Lisa was lovely. I would definitely recommend and looking forward to going back.

Lapland 4 nights 12th Feb 2023. This did not disappoint. The most magical and amazing experience. I tried things I never thought I would, husky trek, reindeer sleigh, snow mobiles in pitch darkness with northern light hunting….. my favourite, snow shoe trekking across a frozen lake and up into woodlands, free time to walk through trails and just spend time in the snow. Wandering through woods and snow laden fields in the dead of night watching for the light. Tobogganing adults….. Extremely knowledgeable and approachable Transun staff. Hotel was in the perfect position. Just book it and enjoy. I would go again tomorrow. I’m 61, don’t let age stop you for this experience. Thank you to everyone

We took the Northern Lights 4 day trip staying at the Davvi Lodge Hotel which was cosy and warm and served us great warming comfort foods. What an amazing experience from beginning to end . All the Transun tour guides from the airport to all excursions were wonderful , the hotel staff were so friendly and there to help for anything .We loved seeing the lights which change for every photo you take and the husky dog sledding was just amazing . I have travelled a lot in my life but this is up there with the best I have ever done . Well done Transun and Davvi Lodge .

We have just come back from a fantastic time and saw the Northern Lights every night we where there. Staff and hotel manager are fantastic and very helpful, but the only problem we had was the snow suits. We where told my wife would not fit into a provided suit, so we spent over £150 on equipment for her only to find out from the staff at the hotel that the do suits for larger ladies and they would of been able to fit sizes over 22 ladies.
So we where out of pocket before we left the UK, but the activities are professionally run and the food at the Davvi Arctic Lodge was amazing.
All in all I would highly rate this trip but do your research before you go.
Also you get a day where you have a lot of free time and a activity in the evening but you can hire snowmobiles from the local petrol garage for 175 euros for 12hrs.
Next time we go we will be going of exploring more of this beautiful place.

This is one of the most special trips I have ever taken. It was fabulous from start to finish. Flights were good, hotel was good, basic, but extremely clean and the food was fabulous, couldn't fault it. All the excursions were so well operated, everything ran smoothly from start to finish. The trip itself was amazing value for money absolutely brilliant. Must also mention Lisa our Transun rep who was an absolute star, nothing was too much trouble for her. Icing on the cake was seeing the Northern Lights on 2 out of 3 nights. Would absolutely 100% recommend this trip for anyone looking to make magical memories.

Just returned from taking a group of clients to Lapland with Transun and everything went like clockwork. We all had a really fantastic experience and would highly recommend. Great excursions, we loved the hotel, and all the staff and Transun team were very friendly and welcoming. Nothing negative to report!! Amazing memories made and already planning a trip back next year.

We had to postpone this trip twice due to covid. The first was due to the travel ban and the second was border restrictions, and although we were offered alternative accommodation we decided we wanted to stick with the Davvi Artic Lodge. This turned out to be the best decision and well worth the wait. We'd never been on a winter break before and this was going to be a once in a lifetime experience, however we will definitely be back. The Transun team were great and the welcome meeting was really informative. The hotel was nice and cosy, and the staff couldn't do enough for us. The restaurant was really nice and served a good selection of food. I'd definitely take your own drinks for your room as the bar is very expensive. They also have a lounge with a nice big real fire and plenty of space to play cards /games etc. The activities were really well organised and the instructors were very knowledgable. All in all this was an amazing holiday, made even better by the great team of people who worked hard to make our stay as easy and carefree as possible.

Went to Karesuvanto, Finland for 7 days staying at Davvi Arctic Lodge in a delux cabin which was spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and luxury bathroom with sauna. The Transun reps was so friendly and helpful and the chefs made sure my dietary requirements were met at every meal time so I had no worries about food. It was always tasty and there was plenty of it. The logistics of organising all the groups was amazing and ran so smoothly, even when the huskies ride had to be rearranged when the temperature dropped to minus 37C which is too cold for the huskies to run as the air would freeze in their lungs. It has to be minus 34C or warmer for them to run! The reps made sure no-one missed out. The other experiences were all really well organised too - snowmobiles, reindeer sledges, snowshoes were all brilliant but still left time to relax or walk in the forest or to the local café for a hot chocolate (with marshmallows and cream - yummy) , the gift shop and mini-market just at the bottom of the hill or for a longer walk over the bridge to Karesuando in Sweden (about 15 minutes), a small town with a couple more cafes, supermarket and a beautiful church (very warm inside). There is a tourist information centre but it was closed when we were there. Back at the hotel, I would highly recommend the massage as an optional extra. We were exceptionally lucky to see the northern lights every night, the best being the dancing aurora one morning at 1am lying flat on our backs in deep snow with no-one else around. Truly magical. I highly recommend this holiday from Transun.

What a fabulous holiday. Luckily the Northern Lights were out every night. Huskies, snowmobiles and snowshoe trek experiences were amazing. Hotel and restaurant staff lovely, very helpful. The experience guides were exceptional. Altogether a great holiday with wonderful people who made the experience memorable. Thank you.

We booked to go in 2020, however due to covid our trip was postponed twice, but we were very lucky we didn't have to pay any more than the original booking price. Our flight out was delayed but we still managed to do all the activities which were originally planned. Experience was lovely and even though our children were 2 years older than when we were originally going to go, we all still had a fantastic time. Unfortunately, we were delayed going home, which meant we had to stay overnight. Transun staff were helpful and provided us with overnight accommodation, we didn't get to bed until 4am, however Transun staff did the best they could with such short notice to arrange it all. I have to admit the airline were not good. Complete lack of communication their end, they wouldn't give us a genuine reason as to why we were delayed, either blamed Transun or mumbled something which noone could understand. I found the staff of Enterair very rude. My daughter is vegetarian, and they gave all vegetarian meals away to the people sat towards the front, and gave her a tuna and sweetcorn sandwich as a replacement!!!! She had to eat it otherwise she would have gone hungry. Would travel with Transun again, but not Enterair.

Our family went to Lapland we had the most amazing time. best holiday ever !! The staff were grate the Rangers were brilliant and the restaurant staff were wonderful especially Carlos we didn’t want to come home the only problem there was the Airline was rubbish (enterair) from Humberside airport there was quite a lot of things wrong with them.

Incredible Experience. What a 3 day trip, incredible activities, got lucky and saw the Northern Lights twice. The staff were all really friendly and very helpful. The hotel was lovely and a real treat having a sauna in our room.
Couldn't fault any of it (maybe except for the moody unfriendly airline staff on Enter Air but that's nothing to do with Transun.)

Amazing Northern Lights 3 night break with Transun, we were a group of 12 that travelled from Manchester and from start to finish we couldnt fault it. Everything was well organised, the cabin we stayed in had its very own sauna which we used several times. The food is buffet style and always had 3 hot options and was plentiful and piping hot. All the staff were friendly and couldn't do enough to help and were very knowledgeable. The icing on the cake was seeing the northern lights on every single night we were there. We especially loved the snowmobile safari and the husky dogs. All in all I would absolutely recommend this trip.
