Excellant service very helpful and friendly
Once I actually got to speak to a staff member they were very helpful. However reaching that member was very frustrating. It is not made clear which of the many phone numbers should be used for what, and when you ring any number there is a lengthy blurb to listen to before you get through and find out if you have the right department. If not, you go through the whole thing again.
My companion had a suspected heart attack and so cannot travel and staff kept me informed on progress to being able to take someone else instead. This took over a week but the delay was caused by suppliers not your staff.

My partner and I went on a holiday to Japan and South Korea with Saga holidays, It was truly amazing, so well organised, fascinating and such interesting and wonderful places and people.
The tour was well organised with a English tour manager and a Japanese / Korean local guide, which made the tours run like clock work.
I would recommend this holiday to anyone who anyone who wants a nice easy holiday without the hassle of having to organise everything them selves.
Great value and very professional with top quality hotels.

Adriatic Coastal Explorer, MV Amorena. The tour was absolutely brilliant. Organization was faultless; the ship was immaculate; the crew was fantastic; and our tour manager, Bobby, was exceptional in every respect. This was our first experience on a small-ships cruise, and it exceeded all our expectations. Saga even managed to arrange sun for every day. Highly recommended!

It was a very good trip for 20 days and headed up by saga tour manager Sarah who was really good she made everything work for us. We met her at Heathrow and she came with us all the way to Hong Kong where we waited for our flight to Japan. Couldn’t fault her in anyway. And then off to South Korea where we also had a good time visit in Temple and palaces. We really enjoyed it and if anyone is thinking of going, I would recommend it.

We had a week on the Adriatic Coastal explorer, sailing on the 4 star Amorena to a good variety of places. I chose this tour because it went to the Krka national Park. The waterfalls and the colours of the pools of water did not disappoint. Every day brought new places to explore and a variety of history, nature and lots of attractive and interesting towns and villages. The MV Amorena is a beautiful sailing boat and although sailing was usually using the engine we did have a spell where the crew put up the sails and we moved serenely through the water. The boat takes about 32 passengers so it's easy to mingle and get to know everyone. We were impressed with all the crew who managed the balancing act of great professional service with a friendly sense that nothing is too much trouble. Particular mention should go to the 2 chefs who produced a variety of great food in a tiny gally kitchen. Our guide Bobby deserved a gold star, was always available, happy to answer questions including good ideas of where to eat or to go in free time. We would highly recommend the Amorena, it's crew, Bobby our guide and this tour.

Adriatic cruise on beautiful MV Amorena - well appointed and in pristine condition. Wonderful helpful staff. Very good food. Outstanding knowledgeable tour guide who went the extra mile to make holiday perfect and whose positivity and humour created a great atmosphere. Dalmatian coast is glorious and our captain’s expertise was much appreciated. Interesting ports and places of outstanding natural beauty. Would thoroughly recommend.

The Saga representative on booking the holiday was extremely helpful and took the time to explain all my questions.

The website was glitching so we called. Shanel provided us with a first class service, was helpful, knowledgeable and very polite. Would highly recommend.

Fabulous country with really interesting excursions with well informed guides. Being on board a sailing ship was a great - and different - experience, especially when the crew put up the sails for a while. The ship itself was immaculate thanks to the work of the crew.
The crew were very good indeed - helpful, welcoming, good humoured, and always happy to assist with anything, and the chef produced some exceptional food, even catering for special dietary needs (like mine) from a tiny galley.
To top off this wonderful experience, Bobby our tour manager was exceptional - full of fun, friendly, well informed, caring, but also well organised, clear in his communication of daily events, and calm if things didn't go quite to plan. Above all he clearly loves his country and his job.

Graham was very friendly and explained everything well. Paying by phone was a little difficult but we got there in the end. Good experience in feeling good about spending money!

We booked our holiday in Spain because it was the only option that provided a daytime flight from an airport that we could reach comfortably. The day before the Easter holiday we were told by email that British Airways had cancelled our flight and the replacement flight meant we would have to leave home at 4 o'clock in the morning. We were not able to do this as my husband is 78, still recovering from a stroke with fatigue, and needs regular sleep to allow him to function properly. When we tried to explain this problem to Saga representatives we were treated with a take it or leave it attitude and we would not be refunded the costs. We have been on several Saga cruises and thought that as a company they understood the needs of older people. We are extremely disappointed and will not be using the company again.

We went on the Saga Cairo, Alexandria and The Nile experience, April 16-27 2026. We’d done some research in advance so were aware of the frequent early starts - 6am wake-up calls and, on one occasion, 3.15am for the visit to Abu Simbel. Many fellow travellers found this a bit of a shock, but it enabled our party to get to major sites ahead of the crowds and before the temperature got uncomfortably high. The hotel in Cairo was excellent as was our river Cruiser the MS Nile Plaza. The boat was a little dated but perfectly acceptable. The food was great and extremely plentiful. All the crew were happy and welcoming. Our Saga rep - Ayman - and our Egyptologist - Mr Ahmed - went out of their way to ensure we got the most out of our visit to the historic sites of ancient Egypt with Ayman, in particular, dealing efficiently with minor hiccups such as missing suitcases! My only real criticism of the holiday would be that the trip to Alexandria - three hours each way on a coach - seemed a little unnecessary. The museum and the amphitheatre were interesting, but the hour-long visit to the new city library was pretty dull and pointless. As regular Saga customers we were also a little taken aback to discover there were several young children on board our river cruiser for most of our trip on the Nile - not what we would expect on a Saga- organised holiday. They weren’t particularly badly behaved although they did make quite a lot of noise and treated the cabin corridors as a racetrack! For that reason - and that reason alone - we are unable to award 5 stars to Saga on this occasion. As a couple in their 60s we thoroughly enjoyed our Egypt adventure. However, some of our older fellow travellers found the early starts, the extensive walking - often on uneven ground - and the heat something of a trial.

We have just returned from 13 days on the Essence of Japan tour, and it was just that. We really felt like we did get the essence of this beautiful country. This was mostly due to our excellent guide Tam Tam and the tour manager Guilia, both were so knowledgeable and helpful. The tour is quite fast paced, a lot was packed into those 13 days, temples, Shrines, castles, bullet trains and two amazing days when we saw Fujisan in all her glory!
We called and booked this tour by phone and were offered a night in a Ryokan - another amazing experience. We were the only ones in our party that did this as everyone else booked online and this option didn’t come up, I know some people were disappointed to miss out. So, top tip, phone to book and ask about optional extras!
All hotels were of a good standard, with a couple being excellent. The chauffeur to and from Heathrow worked well, such a bonus not to feel that airport parking stress.
We would say this tour really did exceed expectations. If you are thinking about booking this trip, don’t hesitate, it was worth every penny.

Just returned from a really wonderful holiday. The Essence of Japan escorted tour, 6th April to 19th April 2026. My first Saga holiday, really enjoyed chauffeur pick up and return home journeys. The drivers were both very good. Our tour Manager, Giulia from Rome and local guide Tam Tam were excellent, friendly welcoming, caring and so experienced. Everything went smoothly. Comfortable hotels and so many different modes of transport. A really great group of people too. I was a solo traveller but didn't feel like it.The holiday flew by.
A BIG thank you

I haven’t even left for my holiday and it is indeed a saga. Had to send travel documents in three times and flights update turned into now flying out of one airport and back into another airport. Extremely tight connections to get from Heathrow terminal 3 to terminal 5 and not convinced I am going to make them. Puts a worry on the holiday before it’s even started. Not impressed at all with SAGA.

The lady was very helpful. We were amending our booking so it took a bit to sort out with the deposit for the cancelled holiday being transferred to this. With only a £40 cancellation charge we felt this was very good and felt very pleased that it was possible to change bookings just because we had changed our minds. It takes the fear out of booking early. Thank you Saga.
