Even with a medical note from a doctor…
Even with a medical note from a doctor they still denied our claim. No reasoning or representative to assist whatsoever! Will never use included travel insurance with a company again. Will make sure I do my due diligence and pick my own travel insurance!
Stay away!
I had similar issues as previous reviews for an Oceania cruise in May 2022. It took them 6 months to request additional information to process our claim... I've dealt with a number of travel insurance companies over the years and AON is by far the worst.
Never use AON Travel Insurance!!!
We bought AON travel insurance for an NCL cruise in May of 2022. We tested positive for Covid and were unable to fly home on our scheduled flight. We had to rebook and pay out of pocket. It has been 9 months since I filed this claim and have gotten nowhere. Every time I call or email I receive the same response. They have a high volume of claims or they need another 30 days to process my claim. At least once a month I check and still the same response. Never will I recommend or use this insurance again. Unfortunately they are the company that many of the cruise lines use. Avoid them at all costs!!
My frustrating experience with AON Affinity Travel Insurance
My experience with AON Affinity Travel Insurance has been very frustrating to say the least. On June 28, 2022 I canceled a cruise with Norwegian Cruise Lines. On July 7, 2022, I filed all the required documentation with AON Affinity for a refund. That was 8 months ago. I have emailed and called them numerous times and have been told the same thing each time... "We are experiencing an unusually high volume of travel claims. We do not need any further documentation from you at this time. Please allow 30 days for the processing of your claim." In eight months I have not been able to talk to anyone at AON who could give me any accurate information about the settlement of my travel claim. Today I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I'm hoping this action will ultimately resolve my claim with AON.
This company is a scam
This company is a scam! Very sad that the “ insurance” is offered through Princess Cruises. We have been waiting 90 days for a trip that was canceled due to a flight cancellation. When I think of the money I wasted for years buying this “ insurance “ it makes me sick. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. You lost me as a customer jerks.
We have been waiting for a claim to…cover travel delays
We have been waiting for a claim to process for 6 months. Lately it’s always 1 more month…..never use this company.
We have been trying to get our…
We have been trying to get our insurance claim refund for over 6 months! Only response has been "we are working on it". We finally got a response asking for more info. God help us if this ever gets resolved!
Worst Insurance Scam in the USA
Took almost 9 months to get our refund, never will I ever deal with this piece of 💩company! After I threatened to go to court they finally responded.
AON has been a nightmare
AON has been a nightmare. Documentation submitted and yet the company kept telling to submit documentation. It is now going on four months with AON still saying, "We are working on it." I kept submitting information needed, which shows us how competent the company is. I would avoid this travel insurance company like the plaque and get insurance with a company that does not get 1 out of five star ratings.
Never received claim forms after 3 months
My travel client opened a claim case with a case# then waited for 3 months, still not yet received the claim form. Called five times requesting the claim form to be emailed ASAP. Every phone representative said that your request of claim form by email will be processed by the back-end office which could take 7-10 business days. After 15 days, my client still hasn't received the claim form. Called again today reuqesting to speak to a supervisor. The call is being held for 70 minutes for s supervisor to pick up. This is a horrible company, deserving no star at all. Avoid, avoid AON insurance!
Horrible people
Horrible people. We provided all of the documentation. It has been seven months. They said on the phone that once it went to final review they would not be asking for any more documentation. It went to final review, and now they are asking for documentation, i.e. a letter from an airline carrier, that they know perfectly well we will never receive. Anything to not pay it and it’s only $600.
This company is terrible
This company is terrible! NEVER buy insurance from these folks. They can't even seem to issue me Future Cruise Credits without giving me the runaround. Don't waste your time or money with AON.
Avoid Avoid Avoid
Terrible. Submitted all documentation for a missed cruise due to flight cancellation. 2 months later still arguing with Aon for refund. Everytime I contact them, same message, "Give us 30 days to review your claim". They have a script that they do not deviate from. No way to talk to a person with any real authority. The insurance was expensive and was recommended by the cruise company. It appears they are trying everything to try to get out of paying out. Buy cancellation insurance from ANY OTHER COMPANY. I wish I had seen these reviews first before purchasing.
This is a scam
This is a scam. Everyone speaks with an accent akin to Indian if not Indian itself. You can never speak to anyone who will go off script when you call to inquire about status. If they owe the claim which in my case they most definitely do they will send e-mail once every three months requesting additional information. It is going on a year now since I filed the claim and still no indication of why they are not paying it. Do not under any circumstances purchase travel insurance from this outfit. An absolute disgrace.
Worst company to deal with
Worst company to deal with. My claim was filed on September 1, 2022 - FIVE MONTHS ago. Same robots when you call reading a script. Please give us more time and call back in 30 days. No one has reached out - no one can answer any questions. They are sitting on our money. Horrible horrible company - is there a negative option of minus stars….
AON refused to consult and pay our…
AON refused to consult and pay our claim. They refused to assist in anyway. Do not use Norewegain and AON. When you contact one company they blame events on the other. The Norwegian / AON banner page states "Cancel for any Reason". Well the airlines shutdown. Our flights were cancelled, ( we allowed 2 extra days to arrive) ...nothing. The airlines refunded Norwegian so they credited our account the airfare, ~$1,000. AON refused to pay anything...DO NOT USE......0 stars if available, out $5000.
Worst Travel Insurance Experience Ever
I used AON Travel Protection as part of a Road Scholar trip since that was the company they contracted with. We had to leave our trip early due to testing positive for COVID and I promptly filed a claim the day after we returned in mid July. In the claim I explained that once we tested positive via self test, neither Canadian medical providers nor our US health insurance would let us get another supervised test because of concerns over exposing others. When I filed the claim I provided that explanation along with a dated photo of the self test result. In September I saw a notice on the AON website that the claim was completed and I would receive a letter, which never came. I called AON to inquire and they said the claim was not actually completed and was still in process. About a month later I got a request to upload COVID test results from our medical provider, so I again explained it was not possible. About 2 weeks later I got a denial letter with no clear reason, so I called and was told to file an appeal, which I did (again explaining why we had no test result from a medical provider) in December (now 4.5 months..). Every time I called to inquire I was told I could not talk to a supervisor or claims examiner and it was in process still. So I filed a complaint with the California Dept of Insurance. That apparently did the trick, because finally in late January I received letters stating that checks were being sent out within two days (the check's in the mail...) covering all of our submitted claims. So it took more than 5 months and a lot of letters and calls to resolve the claim. This left such a bad taste in our mouths that we will likely never again take a trip with Road Scholar if they continue to use AON for travel protection insurance.
If I could give them a 0 star I would
If I could give them a 0 star I would! They have strung us along for 5 months. When you submit your information the keep asking for more. They just want you to give up so they don't have to pay out!
I booked an 11 Day Baltic Sea cruise…
I booked an 11 Day Baltic Sea cruise July 28, 2023 and due to Delta airline having air traffic control problems we miss our connecting flight. Filed a claim with Aon travel insurance for hotel, clothes and misc. on Aug 12, 2022 and today is Jan 24, 2023 and they are still processing my claim. Three times when I contacted them for status they wanted to know if they could cancel my claim. I will never use them in the future.
DO NOT BE FOOLED!
I am going to write a TERRIBLE review for this trash company on every platform available to me. I'm out $3000 because of this SCAM. I booked a trip to Disney the beginning of 2022 for October of 2022. WDW's own company website uses this GARBAGE insurance company in the event you need to cancel. I had to cancel my reservations the day before due to family emergency. My mother, who I care for, was in a respite facility and was being neglected by staff. Her health and safety were in jeopardy and this stupid company responded (after making me jump through hoops to verify she has medical conditions. She has both MS and ALS and is unable to care for herself in any capacity) by saying "while we sympathize (Ha yeah right, you're rubbing your grubby hands together like an evil villain), my situation does not constitue an emergency. Yeah, sure. Next time I'll let my mother rot. So, be ware if you ever plan on trying to book a trip, especially if this is your first time off in 12 years and you sunk all your hard earned saved money, DO NOT BUY INTO THEM. They're scammers 10000%.
They charge you for this service, so since they don't do what they are paid for, I feel like legal action would be a smart move.
