Applying online was fast and easy. Calling the 800 number about questions on policies were answered by Anna. I then called back and Sara answered another question. They both spoke perfect English and understood my concerns/questions.

I bought travel insurance for the first time in 2025, for a trip to Italy. After just 30 hours in Italy, I slipped and broke my ankle so badly that I needed surgery. I chose to return to the US for surgery. I called Travelex from the gurney in the ER. They took care of everything to get me home -- the flight (business class, because of the splint I was in), with a nurse (because I had traveled alone), ground transportation in Rome and Raleigh. It was an awful situation, but would have been a lot worse if I'd had to figure out getting home alone, and out-of-pocket, in that condition. Plus, Travelex reimbursed most of the tour, making it possible for me to go back to Italy in 2026 -- with Travelex Insurance, of course.

I purchased this travel insurance for my recent trip and, fortunately, I didn’t end up needing to file a claim. However, simply knowing I was covered allowed me to be much more relaxed throughout the journey.
The process was very user-friendly; having the contract readily available in PDF format made it incredibly easy to share the details with my travel companions. While I can’t fully evaluate the claims process since I didn't have to use it, the accessibility of the information was excellent.
Given the value this provides, I would definitely use this service for future trips—especially if there is a competitive quote or member discount available. It’s a great safety net to have.

This is the first time I have purchased travel insurance and also needed to file a claim.
On February 23, 2026, a blizzard in MA prevented us from reaching our destination by our original mode of transportation. The roads were closed with a no driving band , and we were unable to get to the airport because our local ferry service (Steamship) was not operating that morning. No flights were available to rebook to.
We have provided multiple screenshots, including proof of the ferry cancellations from the Steamship website, along with the original receipt and documentation showing the refund and cancellation.
However, we continue to be asked to provide additional documentation, specifically cancellation paperwork from the airline and hotel.
Our hotel stay in Orlando was only for one night, and the cancellation charge reflects the cost of that single night. Regarding the airline, the cost to rebook the flights with rebooking fees would have exceeded the original ticket price, so we did not proceed with rebooking.
We are not requesting a large reimbursement—less than $900—but for our family of four, this is a significant amount. We had been saving for this trip and simply hope to recover our losses ( or at least partially) so we can plan it again.
If additional documentation is required, please clearly specify what is needed. We have provided all available records related to this claim. Clearly they just want paperwork that shows cancellations. It feels like an endless cycle and when you call I’m told to just look for an email response. No one will talk to me on the phone thus far about my claim .
Print out the medical forms required from their website when you need a claim just incase and have with you so it can make your process to claim easier.
I know this policy is underwritten by Zurich but it seems there’s really bad reviews and this link from your website goes to this location.

I’m in the loop of being asked to provide more and more information from the dentist I went to for emergency crown repair in Mexico. The original paperwork said “emergency crown tooth 30:”
Now I’m being asked to have rhe dentist supply notes. Just another hoop to jump through so you don’t have to fulfill your obligation to reimburse the$500.

We had two simple problems on our recent cruise, for which we paid Travelex$1521 for an Advantage policy. 1) My husband left his carry-on bag in the taxi on the way to the airport, and the driver was not able to return with it in time to make our flight. We put a claim in $235.52 to cover a clinic visit in Singapore and prescriptions so that he would have his daily life-saving medications for the trip. Later in the trip, my husband caught a flu/cold and remained in our ship cabin two dates, preventing him from attended pre-booked, non-refundable excursions, for which we put a claim in for $366. For the first claim we provided the medical file, prescription receipts and a note from the taxi driver confirming the bag was left behind. For the second claim we provided unused excursion tickets, receipts and a letter from the cruiseship confirming my husband's illness an absence from the excursion. After two months of back-and-forth, multiple requests for additional information, and more than a dozen phone calls, Travelex declined both claims. I cannot image what they would put you through with a more complicated claim. Avoid Travelex.
