I called 1800-228-9792 before I purchase for my wife and I travel ins to Italy, I don't know which is right Insurance to us. sales rep-Frank he was very helpful and explain all the benefit of travel insurance. Nice things I'm talking to person in US not other country agent or machine answer.

We have used Travelex multiple times…
We have used Travelex multiple times and never had to make a claim. Insurance is easy to purchase though there needs to be more information accessible about traveling to multiple locations! That should be part of the online form. At least ask if there are multiple locations and then explain. I had to call the 800 number to find out what to do.

A last minute decision on travel plans…
A last minute decision on travel plans had me scurrying to get travel insurance. I had heard that last minute insurance coverage would be either non-existent or prohibitively expensive. Travelex set up my insurance within minutes of completing the on-line application for insurance and the cost was reasonable for the peace of mind the coverage provided me.

I do not recomend Travelex.
I bought Travelex insurance for an upcoming trip. My husband has ALS and we thought he would still be able to travel so we had a positive attitude and booked the trip. Unfortunately his mobility took a turn and we decided that the trip would be too much. I canceled sending in all the appropriate paperwork from Dartmouth Hitchcock and my claim was denied. Because he was diagnosed in November and the trip was not until May, Travelex considered that a preexisting condition. I explained to them that yes he was diagnosed in November but his condition worsened. I asked them to reconsider and they reconsidered with another denial. So fair warning to all purchasers. Their inability to be flexible is disheartening. Maybe after my husband fell down yesterday, I should have wished that he would have broken his arm. I wonder if they would deny that too since all ALS patients are subject to falls.

I have used Allianz Insurance for…
I have used Allianz Insurance for several years via Delta Airlines or American Express. This trip was booked via Citibank Rewards Travel & Air Canada (terrible experience with Citibank, their computer system dreadful). I know Travelex from trips to Europe. I know Zurich Insurance as I purchased 2 Subaru cars, and I purchased "Dent, Ding, Tire" insurance twice. Reputable company. The price for this insurance was 50% less than Allianz and I'm watching total cost for this small upcoming trip. I'm pleased to buy insurance.
