Easy to organise
We've been lucky enough to have never needed to make a claim, so I can only comment on the process of organising the policy. We travel quite a lot and always use TID, it's easy to organise and laid out in simple terms online.

Quick and easy insurance
The easiest app for all your travel insurance needs. Very competitive rates including motorcycle insurance for riding overseas in the standard policy, for licensed riders only. An Australian company which should make it easier should the need arise when making a claim. 👍

Thank you very much to the TID team with all your help when my daughter became ill in Bali. From the first call to the 24hr emergency help line-who directed us to the BIMC hospital in Kuta to all the follow up calls to see how we were going our family can not thank enough to all who assisted us to help in our situation. And to make things less stressfull the speed in which our claim was processed was fantastic.
Since we have been back talking to friends about our experience with TID I can not recommend you highly enough.

Great cover with easy claims process
I had to make a claim for medical treatment while away. The process was simple and my claim was quickly approved. By far the simplest experience I've had dealing with an insurance company.

Great Communication
I was impressed with TID's regular email communications before my holiday. I was fortunate to have an incident free holiday so no claim was necessary. Travellers beware! PDS wording means that they will find any method to not help you
The cost of Travel Insurance Direct was the first thing that I noticed being quite cheap and offering good coverage. I had used them twice before having any issues.
On my most recent coverage with TID, I had the unfortunately experience of having my notebook computer stolen. Checkout is in the morning as usual so I had my luggage and bags stored in my hostel's secured and locked holding area. My laptop was unfortunately stolen out of my bag so I made a claim with TID and their insurance company (Cerebus Claims).
After providing all t he information they opted not to award the claim in favour. The reasoning was that because the hostel is a public area and hostel patrons have access to the secured and locked room as well. This is unfortunate because a hostel is a communal residence with shared bathrooms, bedrooms etc. Therefore using their PDS and wording, they are covered for anything that is stolen if you are staying in a hostel.
Summary: Do not use TID if you plan to stay in a hostel.

As I have not made a claim and can not comment on this side but have had the insurance numerous times I find the process and people on the other end of the phone so easy to get on with it makes it a pleasure to use TID.

Tops All Others
I have used Travel Insurance Direct for many years for domestic and international travel. It is good value, easy to get a quote and pay online and to make a claim. One time I realised I was covered by insurance many months after arriving home and they accepted my claim without hesitation. Having travel insurance with no excess is also not too expensive.

Quick and friendly
I had a positive experience with TID. My claim was processed fairly quickly and, once they received all the requested information, I received a reimbursement for the lost item. Generally happy and would definitely use again.
