I had the best experience
All of the small details were perfect, things like coming back to camp and having the tents already set up for us was a big hit! Jamal was such a lovely guide and took the time to get to know us all individually which made it all the more personal. The food was amazing and as someone who was concerned with intolerances I was really well looked after! Also everywhere that we stayed felt really safe and friendly. It was really nice to be able to stop off on our journey too when traveling to the desert and everyone's wishes and needs were taken into account, it also made the journey feel a lot shorter by experiencing new things such as visiting the pottery place ect... and each were really intresting and fun. I had the best experience and cannot recommend Travelteer highly enough!! Thank you for making the adventure so magical!
Everything about this tip was organised…
Everything about this tip was organised perfectly from pick up at the airport to drop off! The food was the most surprising, being amazing every meal! Jamal and the team were all extremely knowledgeable and made you feel 100% safe every step of the way! The hotels were great and clean, the camp was alway set up and laid out perfectly. I woukd highly recommend!! And thank you!!
Truly the most memorable & fulfilling…
Truly the most memorable & fulfilling experience of a lifetime. Doing the trek for the Rosie May Foundation with a group of amazing women, is an experience I’ll treasure for the rest of my life! The whole trip was so thought out from start to finish.
Fantastic trip
Fantastic trip, everything was organised extremely well and went smoothly. All round a wonderful experience which couldn’t have been achieved without the amazing Jamal!!! We trekked for 5 days in the Sahara, he kept us safe, happy and made us laugh. His knowledge of the area and his desert skills were outstanding. His team the cook and the camel men were helpful, friendly and the food was delicious.
From the food, the tents being ready for us, the camels, the bread making and the experience I cannot recommend this highly enough.
Superb Trek, Superb Operator
The trek was incredibly well organised from the pre-departure detail through to the last meal.
The company obviously know the area very well and as a result we had an incredible (and safe) experience
Volunteering with Travelteer- Marine and wildlife programme
The best four weeks of my life this year. The coordinators were friendly and approachable and always quick to help.i learnt a lot from the Marine and wildlife conservation programme. Well planned activities to make an impact!
My summer in Sri Lanka working with turtle for volunteering
I absolutely enjoyed my experience in Sri Lanka working with the turtles but for me there were a few things that could have made that cherry on top.
For example
If the actual work was smoother becuase when I first arrived we were waiting arpund to know what we were doing for about half an hour and we only had like an hour and a half to actually do things so it kinda felt like we were wasting time.
The next thing was people choosing air con rooms or fan rooms as when I was in an air con room I was absolutely freezing as I was directly under neath the AC and had to wear a jumper every night to sleep and I shouldn’t have to do that when in a hot country.
So there were a few arguments about that so in future I think they should move the beds around a bit so no one has to be in that situation as I got ill from it in my first /second week.
Other than that the food was amazing the accom facilities were fantastic and there are lots of amazing people there as well.
Had an amazing experience volunteering…
Had an amazing experience volunteering abroad with Travelteer. It was rewarding and eye-opening & the team were so welcoming. The projects were meaningful and it’s nice to see that our fundraising is used on such impactful projects all year round. The UK office team were also really lovely on the phone and gave lots of advice for my trip as I was a bit nervous solo travelling for the first time. I would highly recommend anyone to volunteer with Travelteer!
A fantastic experience
I really enjoyed the activities and getting to work with new friends. I liked exploring Sri Lanka, its traditions, its cultures, the food, everyrhing. And I loved looking after the turtles.
A once in a lifetime experience
Our students summarised their experience with Travelteer as a once in a lifetime experience. They outstanding service and knowledge about the country, their people and their culture made our trip an outstanding one without a single complain. Even with some students with challenging allergies and eating issues, Travelteer managed them with professionalism and care. Our experience was so good that we are going again next summer! (this review was about our trip in August 2024)

Spent 2 weeks in Sri Lanka travelling with my wife. Fantastic organisation! As we were there during the low season it meant that we got to see a wide range of projects. Ruchi and the team are incredible. Very knowledgable at the projects and always felt safe when being transported by Nalin & other drivers. Incredible two weeks!

Had the most amazing time in Nepal with Travelteer! The people were incredible — both the locals and the other volunteers. The Travelteer staff were awesome, super friendly, and always there to help. Everything was really well organised but still had a relaxed vibe. It honestly felt like we made a real impact while having such a good time exploring and experiencing the culture. Would 100% recommend to anyone thinking about volunteering abroad!
Was amazing!
Was amazing!
A real big thanks to Travelteer for organising my trip. The in country team (big shout out to Elyse and Ben) are fantastic and helped me settle in. The UK team are great as well (thank you for dealing with all my phone calls and answering my questions hahahahaha).
Highly recommend. The volunteering with turtles is something I won’t ever forget.

Had the best time on the Marine & Wildlife programme in Sri Lanka! Got stuck into turtle hatchery work, beach cleans and loads of hands-on conservation. Felt like we were actually making a difference and the team were awesome. 100% recommend!
Opportunity to explore and learn
Very well organised, felt safe and supported at all times.
The activities kept me busy all week, plenty to do, it was a once in a lifetime experience .
My interactions with different cultures and habits really opened my mind, everyone was so friendly.
The marine and wildlife made it an unforgettable experience .
I would definitely recommend and would certainly go again
Sri Lanka was unreal
Sri Lanka was unreal! I joined the sports coaching programme with a few mates and it was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve had. The kids were so enthusiastic and really got stuck into every session. Travelteer made everything smooth from start to finish, and the staff were top-class. We spent our days coaching, exploring local spots, and chilling by the beach — perfect mix of doing something meaningful and having a laugh. Can’t recommend it enough!
The greatest experience
I recently went to Sri Lanka with travelteer and had the best experience. It was a great opportunity to see the culture of Sri Lanka whilst making a difference. The volunteering is a good chance to help others but also gain experience and learn many new skills. The staff were all so great, Sean and Lucy were amazing and made us feel so comfortable. It overall was so fun, educational and a great chance to make new friends. Would definitely recommend.
Travelteer-Marine and Wildlife
I was there for a month really enjoyed the marine and wildlife programme. It could be abit disorganised at points. Not much variation just repeated the same stuff.
Staff were all really nice and welcoming.
I enjoyed cleaning the turtles, tanks and help medicate the turtles.
Great experience and opportunities
My overall experience with travelteer was great! Had an amazing time and met some great people. Dilanka and Lucy were very helpful with coordinating the English programme. The only thing I felt needed improving was the organisation of the whole experience. There were times when I felt it could use more structure, as well as including a wider variety of activities and food. However generally I had the best time and the weekend activities were super good and fun
I highly don't recommend. Where is the volunteering money going?
Overall, the trip was very disorganised, and the volunteering opportunities were very limited. Given that it was the first time round that the Morocco trip was launched, maybe this was the reasoning behind why things were not very organised, however, for the amount of money every volunteer paid to the organisation [and other bits of the experience, such as fundraising] which was well over £1000, it did not seem like our money was being used in the village where we were volunteering - we spent many [scorching hot] mornings in a field, and many summer school classes went by without even as little as writing paper. The accommodation was also not suitable, and not as advertised. If it weren't for the volunteers that resided with me for several weeks, I probably would have returned earlier than expected. Very disorganised scheme that is being offered to people under the guise of actual help, seems to not actually be doing any good for the locals, and it's very strange how, despite every volunteer paying more than £1000 to the company, there was nothing to show for it whilst there.
