TripToGo Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam has great tour guides but ........
TripToGo has great tour guides in Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Although these are bus tours, the only other way to do these countries is on a river cruise or private tour. TTG choice of hotels and locations of hotels is minimal at best. While the hotels are rated 4 stars, I would rate them as a 2. Also, the hotels were not center city. In Pattaya, the hotel was miles away from the beach in a residential neighborhood. Additionally, flights between the countries were on budget airlines. The flight to Hanoi was at 5:40am resulting in everyone getting up at 2 am to leave by 3am. Once in Hanoi, an all day tour was planned. Many in the group were tired. Lastly, we didn't stay at their hotel in Bali as we were looking for a more upscale beach resort, and we booked a fabulous resort on the east coast. TripToGo is good for the budget conscience but terrible on hotel selections

We had an incredible experience on this Japan tour, and our guide Karina truly made it unforgettable. She was knowledgeable, organized, and always went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly.
The hotels in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka were perfectly located, making it super easy to get around using public transportation. Every transfer felt seamless and efficient, which made the whole trip even more enjoyable.
Highly recommend this tour—top ratings for both the experience and for Karina!

If you’re looking for a fast-paced itinerary that checks all the boxes at a budget price, this may work for you. For me, it was uncomfortable and not something I would recommend.
In hindsight, I would have been better off arranging my own transportation and booking private tours along the way. The long bus days were absolutely grueling.
The guides were ok, the Angkor Wat guide was fantastic, but communication was difficult at times and it was difficult for someone with hearing difficulty to understand them.
The trip to Ha Long Bay was particularly disappointing. There was no coffee, water wasn’t included, and every drink came at an extra charge. Lunch was served at 9:45 AM, seemingly just to move us off the boat quickly. There was very little actual cruising—it felt more like a rushed, high-turnover operation.
If your priority is keeping costs low, this may be acceptable. On a positive note, it did feel safe, and the hotels were lovely. I only wish we had been able to spend more time at each one.
Overall experience felt chaotic rather than relaxing.
If I returned I'd definitely book my own hotels and private guides so I could enjoy, not just survive, the experience.

Egypt - Beyond the Monuments
We traveled to Egypt in late 2025. While we expected to be impressed by the history, we didn’t expect to be so deeply moved by the experience.
Egypt is a destination filled with bucket-list sights—from the Pyramids of Giza to the awe-inspiring Abu Simbel—but what truly transformed this from a "great trip" into an "exceptional, once-in-a-lifetime journey" was the expertise and passion of our guides, Sherif and Heshame.
In a country where every corner holds thousands of years of history, it is easy to feel overwhelmed. Sherif and Heshame provided much more than just facts and dates; they provided context, storytelling, soul, and unmatched personal attention.
Sherif was a master at navigating the complexities of the sites, ensuring we were always in the right place at the right time to avoid the crowds and see the details most people miss; he was beyond exceptional. He was super high-energy, which I appreciated; he made sure we saw every possible highlight during our time together. He made sure that everyone had an enjoyable time while gaining a deep understanding of his homeland. He is truly a fantastic Egyptologist; I quickly developed the highest respect both for his deep expertise of Egypt and ability to engage and connect in a genuinely personal way with everyone in our group.
Heshame worked seamlessly with Sherif to make our trip wonderful. He worked behind the scenes as a world-class "quarterback" to make sure every aspect of our tour was experienced flawlessly and without any hiccups. On a trip like this, where there are many people and moving parts, there are countless opportunities for small (and large!) things to go wrong. Heshame made sure that didn't happen.
What truly set Sherif and Heshame apart was their personal touch. They didn't just show us Egypt; they invited us into it. Their professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail meant we never had to worry about the logistics—we were free to simply soak in the majesty of our surroundings. They worked so well together...it was a textbook example of teamwork at its highest level!
If you are planning a trip to Egypt, you will see incredible things. But if you want to truly understand and feel the weight of that history, you need guides who care as much as these two do. Sherif and Heshame are second to none. They turned a vacation into a profound life experience that we will be talking about for years to come.
Our experience with TripToGo exceeded our high expectations in every single way!

From the moment we arrived in Cairo to our final days in Hurghada, Hesham and his outstanding team made every step of the journey seamless, engaging, and truly special. Their deep knowledge of Egypt’s history brought every site to life—from the pyramids to the temples—adding rich context and fascinating stories that you simply wouldn’t get on your own.
What really set Hesham apart, though, was his genuine care for our group. He was always attentive, organized, and one step ahead—whether it was handling logistics effortlessly, making sure everyone felt comfortable, or adding thoughtful touches that elevated the entire experience.
