TrueCitation is not what it claims

The service claims to check citations to ensure their integrity (e.g. to guard against AI hallucinations) and assist with corrections. I was keen to use it to check students' lists of references. (I teach at a university, and we have a growing scourge of students abusing AI.)

However, the service was terrible, so I unsubscribed after a few tries. I did receive an unsubscibe notice, only to find that I was still being charged monthly over the following months. The website appears to be deliberately unuseful. Simply awful experience.
