Been a Tuta customer for many years now and they provide great service whenever an issue needs resolving. You can trust them to do whatever is sensible and within reason to solve whatever issue you might encounter.

Incredible team behind the software they ship and my number 1 recommendation when it comes to a privacy first email!!

In my attempt to de-Google this year I found them and appreciate them immensely! I genuinely love Tuta for what they are setting out to do. Also of note, any time I have ever had to message support (even just like.. a random question), they are super friendly and fast.

The only reason I am giving 4 stars vs 5 is because I chose Tuta because of the calendar feature and the fact that it has the ability to add birthdays. For some reason, I can't get my birthdays to show up as expected when I add them to the contact and have to manually add them to the calendar outside of the little birthday label.

However, legitimately everything else works as expected and the peace of mind I have with them is sooo worth a teensy little inconvenience.

They have a lovely spam filter that works well and plenty of settings to mess around in.

Seriously though; reject convenience, prioritize your privacy!

If you make a free account they delete it after six months.

Annoying but fine, yahoo does something similar from my memory.

The catch is that they they don't let you re-create the same account, even if you have the original login info. This means if you used that email to create an account on a different service, you will probably lose access to that other account.

Oh look, there's a fix to recover that original email! It only of course requires buying a premium subscription! As far as I can tell their business model is holding accounts hostage.

And that's nothing to say of the just absolutely atrocious UI.

After a few non-starts with Tuta Mail - Tom was able to help me sort my custom domain issue. I largely think it was user error (as in me!) but he persevered, and very grateful he did. I love the security first stance Tuta take and have recommended de-Googling to everyone I speak to.

At first I was thrilled to be on a website that protected its users. But I found my contacts had great difficulty in contacting me.

Changing my system over to linux and my business email system away from the corporate dominator, there have of course been issues. Tuta have been accessible to help me through these issues and my system is now working just as I need it

I had a problem with widget on the phone but the problem was solved really fast

The basic web-based subscription account functions very well. The well designed account page is clear and easy to navigate. It's reassuring that emails are securely handled by a responsible company and Tuta staff have been very helpful each time I have contacted them.

I really wanted to like this email service. However, when sending emails, it Gmail and Yahoo, it goes to the Spam Folder. A lot of people use the Gmail. So if I wanted to be discrete, it will not work. I would have to notify the person and tell them to check their spam folder in order to use it. So maybe one day Tuta can change the way that works.

I was thinking about getting rid of Gmail for a long time, Tuta is the best option regarding privacy, I should have switched before...

I had a issue with my custom domain and the support team fixed it in a very professional way. Amazing support.

I like the possibility to have multiple mail accounts under 1 account. The focus on privacy helped me.

Is the UI the prettiest, not really but that doesnt bother me.

The only problem I currently experience is that the spam filter also filters mails I don't see as spam

I've been using Tuta for more than a year now and am very happy with the service. I wanted more privacy and less spam. I feel I have achieved that. Spam is zero!

My technical knowledge isn't good enough to be absolutely sure of 'perfect privacy' so I have to take it on trust. There are indications that the trust is justified in the interaction with email. Encryption is easy to use although I don't use it that much. Alias generation is easy and very useful for handing out to retail for avoiding newsletters.

Following the UK Government's adoption of authoritarian assaults on individual privacy (banning Apple's ADP) we should all be looking to enhance our protection against the stupidity of politicians who expose us to fraudsters, scammers and foreign state ransomware. Note Germany too is looking to reduce individual security but maintain State IT security. Really?

My only disappointment is that there is no suite of privacy services, E2EE storage particularly. Maybe one day.

I joined to leave my Google Workspace. While Tuta might not be as slick as a trillion dollar company that's been leaching your data for over 20 years, the feeling of not feeding money to fascist-supporting billionaires, as well as email privacy and security, is worth a little grit.
I had a technical issue in importing email. Customer support was GREAT. Sorted within 24 hours.
Plus, the price is lower than Google.
I recommend swapping, and putting up with any friction for the sake of principled, decent behaviour.

Purchased an annual subscription to Tuta Mail based on many positive reviews about their email encryption and privacy policies and I was not disappointed. I had a small login issue which I happened to cause myself and Tuta’s support representative Neo came through and figured out what my issue was and got me back up in running in a very timely manner. I would definitely Tuta Mail to anyone seeking the highest level of email security and awesome customer service!!!

Tuta sell themselves first and foremost as a provider of encrypted mail but I would recommend them even if you don't need this level of privacy. As someone who uses Tuta as a straightforward provider for hosting a custom email domain my experience so far has been great.

Set up is straightforward and in my view the 3 Euro plan is excellent value for money. Customer service staff are helpful, friendly and respond quickly. No bots or diversions to useless help pages here - just actual humans trying to help. Thank you!

A word of advice - if you want to import emails you need one of the more expensive plans but if you sign up for a month you can downgrade later to a cheaper plan should you wish. I messed this up but Tuta kindly sorted it out for me.

Doesn't have the bells and whistles of the likes of Gmail but they aren't using your every thought to target advertising at you which seems like a fair trade off to me.
