We’ve had a really positive experience with Tutortastic, and especially with Lucy Thompson, who has worked with our daughter since Year 7. She’s now in Year 11, so Lucy has been part of her learning journey for a long time.

When they first started, maths was a subject our daughter found very difficult and something she genuinely disliked. Over the years, we’ve seen a real shift in her confidence and attitude. Lucy’s calm, patient, and engaging approach helped our daughter feel more assured in herself, and she now approaches maths with far more confidence than before and is really excelling in higher tier!

Lucy always made the sessions supportive and encouraging, and that reassurance made a big difference. We’re very grateful for the role she’s played in helping our daughter grow in confidence and feel more capable as she’s moved towards her GCSEs. We would happily recommend Tutortastic to other parents looking for thoughtful, consistent tutoring support.

Our daughter enjoyed her lessons with Lucy and felt she had learnt a lot. The lessons were not only educational but also lots of fun!

Long story short: we had got into grammar school with just 5 months work!

We had decided to go for 11+ last minute, at the end of March, as soon as we made up our mind, we panickily searched all possible resources all over the internet. After registering, sending out enquiries at various sites countless times, Lucy was the first real person replied us with heartful initial advice, instead of AI protocols.

We had more deeper talks over the phone and via emails, Lucy honestly pointed out our kid was probably only receiving the education equivalent to year 3 level (while was already at the end of year 5, thanks to outstanding state school) and honestly directed us into right direction: enhancing all compulsory fundamentals first before focusing on 11+ exam techniques.

Lucy sent us all useful relevant resources available on their website, to guide us the correct way, helped us to know the exam structure of 11+ and recommended all books and tools that would benefit us.

Lucy would take time to answer any questions and always gave out the most selfishless suggestions. The tutor we were allocated to, was also very kind, considerate and helpful.

From time to time, Lucy would also publish some useful tips or summaries (into easy read graphs, posters, etc), which definitely helped speeding up the final revision time.

We could not pass and get offered a place at grammar school, without Tutortastic. Thank you so much Lucy!

My daughter loves Tutortastic! They helped her through secondary school entrance exams and have been invaluable in preparing for GCSEs. They understand their students, tailor lessons to their needs and really care about them.

Lucy is a fantastic tutor!
She helped my son prep for two Independent school in London. She helped him with English and prepped him for his interview too. We only took a few classes in both but found both very helpful. My son got his choice of school.

My son ad few VR sessions with Katherine. She was knowledgeable and my son (and I felt) her assessments were fair and focused. He enjoyed the sessions and made progress.

This is a fantastic way to give your children that extra push for exams (in our case to prepare our daughter for her 11+ tests). With their guidance, our daughter has developed into a confident and very capable child.

This was such a success – my daughter was tutored by Lucy Thompson of Tutortastic for about seven years up to GCSE stage variously covering English, Maths and Biology at different times over the course of this period – during and after Lockdown, she shared online lessons with a friend. Lucy got on brilliantly with the kids, she is so engaging and the software for the lessons allowed the lessons to be really fun and interactive. She really helped my daughter understand what she was learning and to enjoy learning it. If ever there was something at school she couldn’t understand, Lucy could explain to her so that she ‘got’ it. She helped her go through previous exams and helped to work out how to answer questions and generally how to work out things for herself. These lessons were always really looked forward to and gave my daughter a lot more confidence at school. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Lucy is just amazing! All my 3 children have had sessions with her throughout the last 5+ years and not only do they always enjoy the sessions, they have been super useful. So much so that my 16 year old, whom Lucy taught for his 11+ only trusts Lucy to help him with English GSCE as well as revision prep. Could not recommend enough!

Lucy is a brilliant tutor. She worked with both my children with English and Maths up to GCSE and gave them increased confidence and capability which helped them both achieve their potential
