Incompetent, Unreliable, and Shockingly Rude Customer Service
I had an absolutely terrible experience with Two Men and a Truck that I feel obligated to warn others about. I booked my move well in advance and coordinated everything precisely, including reserving my building’s elevator for a specific window — a crucial step for any high-rise move. Despite their assurances, Two Men and a Truck completely failed to honor the scheduled moving window, throwing my entire plan into chaos.
The worst part? Their customer service operator, Davin, was one of the rudest, most dismissive people I’ve ever dealt with. Rather than taking responsibility or offering help, he was condescending, unhelpful, and seemed genuinely indifferent to the stress their failure had caused.
Because of their incompetence and lack of professionalism, I was forced to scramble at the last minute to find another mover — an incredibly difficult and costly task with almost no notice.
Two Men and a Truck markets themselves as reliable and customer-focused. My experience was the exact opposite. They were disorganized, unreliable, and deeply unprofessional. Save yourself the headache, the stress, and the extra expense — go with literally any other moving company.
The best moving experience! o Men and a Truck
Two Men and a Truck, Salem Va moved me from VA to my new home in SC. Steve made the arrangements, explained everything and was very helpful with my questions and concerns.
Jacob, Sidney and TJ were wonderful, extremely helpful and fun to work with. They made the whole experience easy and fun.
I would recommend them to anyone looking for a top notch
Moving company.
Warren and Emmitt were great
Warren and Emmitt were great, we only needed a few things (6-7) moved that were too heavy for us and the 2 hour minimum seemed a bit excessive but they were very careful with our stuff, friendly, courteous and did a great job thank you.

My favorite movers!!
I have used this company in 3 different states. I don’t know how they do it but every time my experience has been outstanding! Prompt, careful and pleasant. My latest experience was with Mike and his guys out of Sudbury, Massachusetts. My sister was the client, moving her son. She is somewhat disabled, and they set a comfortable chair aside for her to sit in while they worked! She was blown away with their efficiency AND caring. I’ll never use anyone else!
2 men and a truck is very expensive
I was getting a quote from 2 men and a truck for an upcoming move within Tallahassee. I'm going to be moving 15 minutes away from where I reside at this moment, but when I was quoted $1700 I almost passed out. This company was referred to me and the reviews were really good, but that's just was to expensive.
Don't trust the price quote.
Don't trust the price quote.
When I moved, I told Two Men and a Truck (Fond du Lac) everything about my move right down to parking distance from the doors, whether they could prop doors open or not, and what exact items I had and which items required special attention. They gave me a highly detailed, computerized price quote claiming the move would cost $852 to $1278 for my very small one bedroom apartment.
The quote stated: "No one likes surprises at the end of their move, so please review this information carefully. This estimate is based upon the information you've provided us, which is detailed above. Please contact our office if there's anything we've missed or overlooked, as any changes to the amount of goods we move may impact your final costs."
The move went perfectly. I was ready when they arrived and I had the exact items I told them I had. There were no surprises, so I felt sure I would be charged at the lower end of the range they quoted me. Afterall, they said the quote was based on the information I gave them, right?
But no. When the move was over, they tried to charge me $745 MORE than the lower end of the price estimate they gave me... almost DOUBLE the estimate they gave me. ($319 or 125% more than the 'worst case scenario' end of the quote.)
When I disputed the amount I was told they charge by the hour and they completely ignored the price estimate they gave me. It's just a gimmick I guess.
Management was patient after I disputed the quote, and the company did adjust the balance to charge me the maximum end of the price quote instead of the inflated amount. But I still feel I was forced to pay more than I should have. I feel I should have been charged closer to the low range since the move was fully known and went as planned. I also lost a furniture caddy in the move and there was an extra small charge for the mattress cover I requested in advance that should have been included in the quote.
So don't trust the price quote!
But if it weren't for the cost estimate issue - which I consider overtly dishonest, this would have been a raving, 5 star review. The two movers who moved me, Mike B. and Jared K. were just about the greatest movers anybody could ever ask for! They were incredibly careful, experienced, considerate, courteous, respectful, professional, hard-working and polite. They knew what to do in every situation and took extra care of my items. They treated me, my dog and my things so well, that by the end of the move, believe it or not, these movers felt like family to me. It's a shame that the price nonsense stole their thunder. This should have been a thunderously positive review.
Thank you Mike B. and Jared K.. You two are amazing people. And yes, we are a little like family now. :) My best wishes to you both.
Stay Away - They Scam Customers
Avoid this company at all costs. They SCAM customers. I booked a move with Two Men and a Truck, and it was a disaster from start to finish. On moving day, they called three minutes before the scheduled time to say they were stuck and couldn’t make it. After hours of delays and no updates, they finally sent movers who showed up exhausted and tracked mud into my home.
The worst part? After agreeing on the final bill and paying, they fraudulently charged my credit card for extra hours without my consent. When I confronted them, they blamed "the owner" and refused to reverse it.
I later found out they’ve done this to others—unauthorized charges, misleading pricing, and zero accountability. I also had to hire professional cleaners because they left my place a mess.
Save yourself the stress and go with a reputable moving company
They refused to move me after they…
They refused to move me after they started. They first said they found a bug, but could not show it to me, even though they said they had sent a picture to their boss. I think it was the stairs. Then they keep almost $600 in deposits plus they stole from me. I am missing a couple of boxes and did not see their empty truck after they put my stuff back into my apartment.
A very last minute move
A very last minute move, I had less than 3 days notice to move my brother's furniture from his apartment to an Assisted Living facility. He was going directly from the hospital to his new apartment. A difficult time emotionally and they were professional, caring and handled the situation wonderfully. I would highly recommend their service. It was a move from Pt. Richmond to Fairfield.
This company is excellent
This company is excellent; this is the second time I've used them. They moved me today, 12/23/2024. Emmanuel and John were on time, super fast, courteous, and efficient. They went above and beyond with their service. I love that they were super young and very hard workers. They gave me hope that there are still young people out there taking their jobs seriously. I would use this service again. I was concerned about things I didn't pack, but they did it for me and were very careful too.
Overcharged
Overcharged and owner Ralph Dickinson was so rude and had such a bad attitude and refuses to refund me $125. Never recommend!
Appreciation letter
Dear Pieere, Amanda, Mitch, and the Two Men and a Truck Team,
I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for the exceptional service and kindness you all have shown to me during my recent move. From the moment I first reached out to Amanda, I was impressed by her professionalism and understanding. When I explained our situation, as newcomers waiting for work permits and living off our savings without any income, Amanda was incredibly empathetic. Although the initial offer was beyond our budget, she reassured me with kindness and professionalism.
What truly moved me, however, was when Amanda called back shortly after, explaining that she had spoken to Pierre, her boss, who had decided to go above and beyond to help us. Pierre’s decision to offer the move for free, left me speechless and emotional. I could not believe that people like you truly exist, who are willing to extend such generosity without hesitation.
On the day of the move, Mitch, Mike and the team arrived promptly and handled everything with remarkable professionalism. They were not only efficient but incredibly kind and respectful. Their positive attitudes and careful attention to detail made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. I was truly amazed at how well they worked and how comfortable they made us feel.
Please extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone involved. You have not only provided excellent moving services but have also restored my faith in the kindness of people. I will certainly recommend Two Men and a Truck to everyone I know, as your team went above and beyond in ways that will always be remembered.
With sincere appreciation,
Elisheva
NO CARE OR DUE DILIGENCE HANDLING PROPERTY
Group of young men/movers were very clean, friendly and personable. My husband followed them to new home. They unpacked everything except for my son's 50" new tv, was still covered in blanket and seran wrap, whereas everything else was unwrapped/unpacked. My son arrived at new home. When he unwrapped his tv it was severely cracked and unuseable. Obviously guys knew it broke and that is why it was the only thing left unpacked. My husband unwaringly & mistakenly signed off on everything, didn't unpack the tv or inquire about it because it was my son's. The company offered $40 for the tv because their insurance compensates by so much a pound, not by value. Obviously there wasn't much care used in transportation and for customer's property, so I would not recommend. I tipped the guys well in advance, big mistake, trusting they would use care and due diligence because that is what you would expect, but if you value your things, use a different company.
Two men and a truck was great
Two men and a truck was great, they was on time, they were professional and respectful. Instead of two men, they sent three, Tyler, Naquan and Jamal, five stars to you guys. God bless you and thank you, for an excellent move.
TERRIBLE MOVING COMPANY
Update: We were contacted by the franchise owner Tim, who stopped by our new house to drop off the ladder that had been left behind 3 weeks earlier. My husband spoke with Tim and told him about our bad experience with the movers, and the items that were damaged or broken beyond repair. Tim offered to give us a $1000 refund for the damaged items. My husband told him that just one of the damaged items alone, a refrigerator, cost more than $1000. Tim said he understood this, but he wasn't able to refund the full cost of the refrigerator. We did receive the $1000 refund, which we appreciated because at least it was something (even if it didn't cover all the damaged/broken items). We also appreciated having the opportunity to talk with the owner about our dissatisfaction.
TERRIBLE MOVING COMPANY! Do not waste your money by hiring them!
We hired them to both pack and move us. They would not schedule the packing until the day PRIOR to the actual move. The 4 young inexperienced guys packed for only 4 hours (which was the company's minimum time). They did not want to pack for any longer than 4 hours and when asked to pack more items, they acted "put out" and in a hurry to get out of there. They said they were told only to pack the kitchen and garage. My husband had to call the office to ask why this was the case, as we had a large house with many items to pack. He was told they could pack more than those two rooms, which they ignored and did not do. They were in a hurry to get to lunch. The guys did a poor job and packed boxes 1/2 full, stuffed the rest of the box with paper. What a clever way to increase profits by selling more boxes and supplies! They only labeled a few boxes with a ball point pen (hard to see the writing), most boxes they packed had NO LABEL at all. We ended up doing 90% of our own packing, which was a HUGE stress with working full-time jobs.
For the actual move-this was horrifying! They sent 8 young inexperienced guys who randomly stuffed items into the 3 trucks, badly scratching/denting 2 stainless steel refrigerators and a trash can, scraping furniture, breaking glass pictures/decoration items and wheels off our grill. They broke a plant in a ceramic pot on our living room carpet and just LEFT IT THERE! We had to clean it up ourselves! They were very careless with our items and rushed around jamming everything into the trucks. It was chaos. They did not care what damage they did. They did not ask about certain items, to see if we needed them or if they should go on the truck (such as our coolers which were needed to transport food). Everything was shoved onto the trucks. They left their own garbage inside and outside our home, and moveable items we had to transport ourselves.
When moved into our new home, they randomly stuffed furniture into any room (even though they were given instructions on what items went where). The furniture was upended, on its side, or even upside down. Things were up against closets where it was blocking the entrance. Boxes were all over the place, all through the kitchen walk ways, absolutely no organization whatsoever. IT HAS TAKEN WEEKS TO SORT OUT THE BOXES into the correct rooms, and the only ones that are labeled are the ones we packed ourselves. We had to move some of the furniture into the correct rooms as well, and away from blocking entrances or closets. Once again they left their own garbage outside our house. They left our large ladder at the storage facility and were supposed to bring this to our new home. We still haven't seen the ladder. They overcharged an hour one of the moving days, which we complained about and were "refunded" on the move into our new home. Really? Not sure about that.
ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED WITH THIS EXPERIENCE. My husband complained to the management, but was given a "song and dance" about how they were not responsible for damages and this was in the signed contract. They did not care about our personal belongings or our dissatisfaction. All of this after charging $720.00 an hour (for 8 men, 3 trucks). You can imagine what the total bill was after 2 moves from a house to storage, and from storage to another house. If I could give zero stars I would. Don't put yourself through what we experienced, hire someone else!
Shady business
Shady business. Unclear pricing, they don't include VAT in their quotes and the amount they say they'll charge up front isn't a fixed cost. Turns out it's by the hour and they'll add the time they spend travelling to and from their office on without telling you beforehand. They will also ambush you with a large amount of paperwork on the day having you sign your life away, again any time you spend reading though this and trying to properly understand it will be added to the cost. The movers themselves were good but the guys in the office seem out to fleece you.
Willie and Tanner are the best
We made a move in Henderson, Ky and hired Two Men and a Truck. Willie and Tanner were our movers. They were extremely polite, went right to work and never complained even though we moved from an upstairs apartment with 24 steps and the move included a washer and dryer, a sleeper sofa and a solid heavy wood dresser and head and footboard. It could not have been any better. We really appreciated their attitude and professionalism.
