Absolutely wonderful service by the Newcastle branch, the men were absolute stars at moving us from North Shields to the Isle of Skye and put in an extremely long day, can't thank them enough.
Do not use two men and a truck
On May 25, 2023, Two Men and A Truck from the Elyria. Ohio location moved my 80 year old mom from one apartment to another. The WORST experience ever. It took them 14 hours to move a 2 bedroom apartment. They had to make 2 trips because they claimed they cannot stack the boxes very high. When moving the furniture in they damaged the wood work and scratched the walls in a newly remodeled suite. One of the workers just stood around. In fact I caught lurking around the upstairs of her old apartment. Makes you wonder what he was looking for. There were multiple items damaged and broken. This move cost me over $2300.00. I dont think they deserve more than $500.00. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy.
DO NOT USE THEM
I used Two Men and a Truck in Washington DC for just packing services, DON'T DO IT. I was 100% gaslit and they took advantage.
1. When my movers arrived (different company a few days later) before moving any boxes they began to show me that the one piece of tape holding the boxes together was completely open, that the bottom of the boxes HAD NO TAPE so when they lifted all my belongings fell out, and that the boxes were overpacked. When bringing up these issues to two men and a truck I was asked how they could know it wasn't the movers fault (i had video of the boxes on the day they were packed 3 days prior to the movers), that I seemed happy day of so why was I upset now and that the burden fell on my as the customer to in real time life the boxes/check the tape to ensure it was up to moving standards (I am not an expert it is why I hired a PROFESSIONAL packing company). They were only willing to refund me $75 the cost of the materials they brought that I used. They do not care that this level of packing is representative of their reputation.
2. The packers did not bring enough packing material so I had to pay for ubers both ways to go to a hardware store to get more packing materials with one of the movers after they had already taken more time than expected.
3. The packers stated their driving time was much longer than it was and only when pressed on the exorbitant charge did the management check the GPS to change the cost.
Overall, the management spoke to me multiple times . They claimed to make concessions (rectifying their own miscalculations) and fully put the blame on me for their poor quality. My movers asked me if I packed the boxes myself that is how bad this company is.
Two Men and a Truck - DO NOT USE
Two Men and a Truck damaged furniture (actually dropped a dresser), lost items, scratched items, did not provide mattress covers resulting in wood slivers and grime on the mattresses. Would not pay the furniture repair man; had to negotiate a price. Would not reimburse us for replacing glass shelves that they lost, and quit responding to our inquiries. Contacted the home office who said that they had no control of the franchises. DO NOT USE!!!!!
Movers lost $1500 of items
This moving company lost $1500 worth of electronics and their claims process does not protect these items. I called them multiple times the next morning after my move and no one responded until 2 business days later. The claims manager, Garrett, was extremely apathetic and unresponsive. It took him two full weeks to “investigate my claim” and was inconsistent in what happened during the move. At one point I was told someone saw the item and the next time we talked he said no one had seen it. Garrett talked down to me and made me feel like I was not given a fair investigation into what happened. DO NOT use this company. When I tried to speak to another manager no one could give me a direct line or provide me with someone else to speak to. I’m now out $1500 and their “inventory sheet” for moves that they reference for claims is a joke as only furniture is covered under it with no option to list out other items. Extremely dissatisfied and wouldn’t wish this experience on my worst enemy.
They will steal from you
TLDR: The Charlottesville Two Men and a Truck service will steal your belongings.
I recently used two men and a truck in Charlottesville for a move. At the beginning of the move everything was going smoothly. My two movers were Jesse and Logan. They seemed kind; they introduced themselves and stated that they were new. I was concerned about this but gave them the benefit of the doubt. They did stop for about 30 minutes to take pictures of inventory on the truck. It is unclear if I was charged for this time. They stated that they were unsure if I would be. At the end of the day it seemed that I was, given that they arrived at 11:30 and the move lasted until 4:15 (I was charged for 4.75 hours). This is an extra 100 dollars given the 200 dollars per hour cost.
Upon arriving to the destination, it became apparent that these were, indeed, new workers. They were dragging cushions across the wall in the stairwell, and scratched the wall in the stairwell in multiple areas with other pieces of furniture. They did try to get the scratch out with a 'Magic Eraser' sponge, but it ended up just taking the paint off the wall. They did file a damage report for this and that is fine, I figured we could get it repaired after without problem. We have used Two men and a Truck before for other moves (in other states) and there has been no issue with coverage of damages.
The workers then spent approximately 1 hour attempting to take apart our bed frame. We have never had this issue before with other Two Men and a Truck services, despite having had the same bed frame in the past. In total, the bed frame alone added approximately 2 hours of work to what should have been a very quick move (with prior Two Men and a Truck providers in other states). They also scratched the walls of the stairwell again with the bed frame.
These are all problematic things with a moving service. Ultimately, we settled up. I still included a tip, despite all the damages. I also provided them water bottles throughout the day whenever they needed it. I thought it was all over.
As I go to sit down for the night it becomes apparent: THEY STOLE MY NINTENDO SWITCH. I contact the office and it soon becomes apparent that they are not going to do anything.
I implore you to not use a service with movers who WILL STEAL FROM YOU.
Furthermore, they work with a repair service which seems to be contracted by them. When he was evaluating the damages he stated he would not provide a quote and he would repair the damage himself. Furthermore, the insurance they provide requires a 100 dollar deductible in order to have services rendered, despite not providing a quote.
DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS.
Worse Moving Experience Ever! DO NOT HIRE THEM!
The entire experience was TERRIBLE! When the 3 men arrived one was still sleepy & complaining, I’m addition he had a smart mouth! I offered to get them coffee from the local gas station but grumpy requested Starbucks Frappachino (Caramel Ribbon to be exact) I noticed they had gotten everything out of the kitchen except my microwave & kindly reminded them to get it. Of course they forgot it. When I mentioned it again, smart mouth told me I could’ve gotten it. Keep in mind I told them when they arrived that I’m a heart patient with a defibrillator. Anyways, they kept inquiring about the next stop (storage) and how much stuff was in there. They complained about not doing their next job after mine. They asked if I had any valuables in the storage & I advised them yes, my family Chiba dishes that have been passed down through generations. They broke some of it as soon as they got to the storage! One of the boys was on his phone the entire time planning his escape, & sure enough, he left early causing them to go over the estimated 5.5 hours to move both places & unload to new place. This was a one bedroom apartment, & a small storage. There was plenty of room on the truck but they kept saying things weren’t going to fit on the truck. Once we got to the new place they put all boxes in my living room & dining room. I requested things marked in red BEDROOM to be taken upstairs. They ONLY took the beds & dressers upstairs! Not one box or tote! My living room looked like a storage! My dining room was filled with boxes! When the move was over I was told during reservations for the service I’d owe $157, well smart mouth said my balance was $755, but I wouldn’t be penalized for the other worker leaving early. I made him get a hire-up on the phone! They manager wasn’t aware that I paid $860 up front. Didn’t show the $260 I paid after the first payment of $600. That still wouldn’t add up to $755 balance. They told smart mouth to collect $255, so I paid that to get them the hell out of my face! I didn’t want any trouble from these guys! Of course I voiced all of my concerns to management the next business day. I was told to complete a damage form with pictures & I did. Took them a week to get back with me. They said I STILL owed them like $180 ish dollars & that they would take that off and send me a measly check for $100 for my broken family heirlooms! I was taken advantage of due to the fact I was a single black female & no man was around! I used some local movers from Indianapolis in May 2021 to move my family from Indianapolis to Memphis (Germantown) & had no problems with 2 guys who worked extremely hard, in which I paid about $2000. This move cost me $1115, go figure! DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT USING THIS COMPANY FOLKS! #BuyerBeware

I regret hiring them for my recent move. The movers arrived late, and the entire process was unprofessional and frustrating. They rushed through the job, causing damage to several of my belongings.
Moreover, the company overcharged me and refused to provide an itemized breakdown of the fees, leaving me feeling cheated and taken advantage of. When I reached out to customer service to address these issues, they were unresponsive and unhelpful, which only added to my disappointment.
Overall, I had a terrible experience, and I would not recommend their services to anyone. I suggest finding a different moving company that is more trustworthy and respectful of their customers' time and possessions.
You are putting yourself in dangerous situation with angry, abusive movers
Move from FMB post IAN,
There were 3 men, an older white male and 2 black male, the white male was very angry. They did the house and then were closing up the truck. He was told he didn’t get everything and it was brought to him by the home owner to him. The truck was half empty and the items were just a few small light weight items shown to him prior to packing. He repeatedly said it’s not on his paper. We called the office, but they still did not bring the items. They should’ve gone back to get it or the company should have sent someone in a pickup as their employees made this bizarre decision on their own.
When he showed up at the destination we looked in the back of the truck again-there was an enormous amount of room for the few items that needed brought.
We took pictures. We asked why he refused to bring the items and he said there was not room when there was.
He had many excuses. He said he can’t fill the truck up for the truck’s safety while driving. He said he packed it the way he likes for it to be packed and that did not include everything that needed to go. He said many things. He would not stop with the constant barrage of words. He repeatedly pointed at one of us saying we were adding things last minute. This was a lie. We showed him specifically before they started.
Whether there was something we didn’t specifically say, we were told by Letti that there would be plenty of room and we would pay by the hour.
He then went on a rant about our dressers saying we were told something we were never told. We actually have not an ounce of clue what it was he wanted us to do with the dressers. If there was an issue we would have gladly done whatever it was but, again, we were never told, not even by him during his threatening rant.
I am a 50y/o woman smaller than any of them and was surrounded by the 3 movers when I was asking why they refused to pack our items. I was never loud or rude in any way. The older white man then got up into the truck to look down on and be above me as a bully would. Tyrell was to my right slightly behind me and the other man was to my left going right along with the older man. They were feeding off of each other. The white man repeatedly tried to bring Tyrell into it. He started going over any item of ours in front of him and complaining about and saying a myriad of things about each item. The bigger man to my left was pacing foot to foot, waving his hands and saying things like “are you gonna pay me when something breaks”. We have no clue what he was talking about. None of this has anything to do with refusing to pack the items they were shown upon their arrival. He kept repeating all conversations are recorded and “they” are going to know. This was very threatening, abusive and unprofessional on the extreme.
Jacob showed up during this. Eventually they began unpacking. I feared for my safety and when I thought Jacob was leaving I asked if he was staying. He said he was and he wasn’t leaving.
The older man then had an angry altercation with my young, teenage daughter. He told her to take a guitar very angrily. She froze and he yelled at her and told her her mom said to do it. I took the guitar from him and laughed it off trying to diffuse. We should never under any circumstance be in a situation like that. It is dangerous.
These 2 men now know where we live and our names. Their mental instability for no reason at all was frightening. I do not know why they chose to show up on a job and first thing decide they were going to refuse the easiest and lightest weight small amount of items to bring. These are not people who should be allowed to go into people’s homes.
The company then decided that they would go get the items the next day but we would have to pay them for time. They offered no responsibility for the actions of their employee in this regard at all.
Then we were forced to take off of work for a second day due to the refusal of your employees to do what they were hired for. We simply said we wanted to pay when it was done. It wasn’t done.
It was clear to us if this company emboldens their employees to try to start altercations with customers, make up scenarios and lie about one of us right in front of us repeatedly out of no where that we weren’t trusting they would follow through to finish the job.
She said she wanted all the money now, though the job wasn’t finished and refused. She said she would talk to the employees when they got back to see how long the altercation was, not about what they did to us or why they started an altercation, or apology for the serious situation we were in.
She had a manager (Jacob) right there that clearly witnessed the anger and abuse. She had a manager on the scene that I feel confident was honest about what happened and saw the truck was half empty. Yet, no one at 2 men and a truck was holding anyone responsible. And were punishing the victims.
Do NOT hire this moving company
Do NOT hire this moving company! They were careless and damaged my mattress. Refused to put the plastic bags on my mattress and box springs that I had purchased to help protect them. I am now in the process of filing a lawsuit against them because they are lying about damaging my mattress. They are NOT to be be trusted!
Horrible Experience with this Company
Horrible co.; & certainly not as their motto: “Movers who care”. Used them for loading into my truck. Several items damaged by time of destination—Arizona. They blamed in transit damage by my driver (whoa is professional CDL driver). After nearly a month of stalling, refused to honor any liability claim, despite it coming from poor loader-planning & not using proper tie-downs: placement, number and tautness. To do it over: Iwould have watched what they loaded, when & how they are secured—and asked many questions if in doubt. But a move for a disabled senior is not easy, yet alone going 900 miles. TERRIBLE!!
Houston is his name, rip off
Houston is his name with another helper that assited me to move. He would pack the truck then unpack amd repack then would do the same at my storage unit. Careful guys this company is a rip off. Rather get a fixed quote, lessons learnt. At the end i had 4 guys and was charge close to $4000
Shady company with terrible customer service
Believe me when I say that this company is not worth your trust or money. I entrusted them to move two pieces of furniture. They took their sweet time and over-charged me. To make a long story short if you do decide to go with them (I highly recommend you don't) - be extremely clear about how many hours it will take. If possible I would suggest micro managing the situation by being close to the movers at all times. Believe me when I say they will prolong the moving time. Also don't be surprised if the movers arrive intoxicated either, because that happened to me as well.

I had roughly 12 boxes packed up and ready to go, along with 2 laptops and a router. The only thing they loaded onto their truck was my sofa and a coffee table. They left everything else behind. Waste of money.
----
They called and refunded 2/3 of the money. So, it's been resolved.
If you need a mover, find a professional mover, not this one.
We bought a downsized home in July 2021, and we chose this company for moving with the assumption that it is a local business and should be professional.
I requested him on phone to come to my 2-story house, see all the items to be moved and give an estimate for moving. He said me just to describe on phone what are the things to be moved. So I described the content of each room.
He gave me an estimate or around $2k.
It took them three days and used 4-8 men to pack and move, and charged me a total of more than $7k.
Each day different crew came to pack or load.
On the 2d day the lead packer asked me to sign on an insurance for moving. I said I do not want insurance, as I trust the company.
The packing was not professional. No sticky number labels (from a roll) were used on any box packed or item moved.
The destination house is smaller than the previous house, and it took us several weeks or months to realize that 2-4 boxes size content is missing, but we could not make a claim because of a long delay and having no insurance.
Therefore, we have not even complained to the business. We are seniors and have moved several times over the US in life, and this was the worst experience of all.
So, be careful whom you hire for moving.
Two Men & a Truck ARE AWESOME!
Two Men & a Truck ARE AWESOME!! I called them on 12/22 from the Sam’s Club store because I could not get the large tv that I purchased as a Christmas gift for my husband into my vehicle. They not only came out and picked it up, but delivered it around my husband’s schedule so he wouldn’t see it, even hiding it in another location in the basement! #BestChristmasElvesEVER!
Yelled at me, broke furniture and glasses
All my boxes were labelled, almost none were put in proper places. Broke 6 glasses. Destroyed a fold out chair. Complained to their employee, Tamara Jarchuk who yelled and hung up on me. I have never dealt with such a discourteous, unprofessional company. My real estate agent and I are shocked. Never offered compensation.
AVOID--lies about travel fees
AVOID using this moving company. They are not transparent about their travel costs. Was charged for double the time it would take from their facilities to the the city. The manager has been extremely distasteful when it was challenged.
An additional travel time charge will be added to cover the time spent traveling from the movers terminal to your old address, and back to the terminal from your new address. THEY WILL CHARGE DOUBLE.
To put this into perspective: A couch set, Queen-size bed, console table, PC and PC chair with a .4 mile distance to the new location took them 4.25 hours. It's laughable.
Two men and a Truck will tack on more than it actually costs.
BEWARE.
Terrible experience
We used Two Man and a Truck to move and store our furnishings until our new home was ready. They moved our things from our townhouse, stored the stuff for 6 weeks and delivered it to our new home. They broke one of our hanging mini tiffany lamps and tried to hide it in the closet. We are missing numerous items and they delivered and extra bed. There are scratches and gouges in our furniture. My husband did not call them to complain about the issues and at this point it's been over 3 months. Do not use them.
The guys were on time
The guys were on time, they worked from start to finish without taking breaks. We even offered water and they indicated they had their own. They did not delay to make the job take longer. My billing was correct. My stuff was in perfect condition. Nothing was damaged or missing.
