The dog buddy sitter lost our dog
We used a dog buddy sitter in Lincoln for the first time and our dog Brodie was booked from Friday 9th March 2018 until Sunday 11th March 2018. The sitter, Alice appeared very pleasant and Brodie seemed fine with her. We then received a call at approx 1.30pm on saturday 10th March to say Brodie had got out of her house and was missing. We then discovered he had been missing since 10.30am. This was a horrendous experience and we spent many hours searching for Brodie and eventually, thanks to social media, we found a very stressed Brodie at 9pm. Dog Buddy have refunded the booking cost and as Brodie now has a problem with his paw they will pay vet costs. Brodie is used to being with a dog sitter but there is no way we will ever use Dog Buddy again.

Spend a bit more time researching local sitters as they care a lot more about animals then one big website run by people you will never meet and frankly appear not to care as the customer service is terrible. Cut out the middle man and go strait to the source

Not an honest or mature enough an organisation.
Dog Home Boarders need to have license from their Local Authority = checks by a vet and Trading Standards amongst other things.
See for yourself. Approximately 9 out of every 10 Dog Buddy Sitters is not licensed.
If this was Hungry House or Just Eat and they had 9 out of 10 of the restaurants on their site without a Food Safety Certificate how would you rate them ?
You would rightly view them as a charlatans not experts in their field.
The CEO of this company has had a dog for ten minutes and had never been a professional Dog Sitter etc .. He is an Accountant. Hoping to make it big by exploiting loopholes in the law - because hey .. they are not the one without the licences .. its the people delivering the services...
They pay out investor cash to promote themselves everywhere and pay some cash to organisations like the RSPCA to make themselves look good.
Sitters posting positive views will most likely be not licensed amateurs that can make some money duping the unsuspecting public while they remain unlicensed and unpoliced by their local council.
See for yourself and don't take my word for it.
You can find professional Dog Home Boarders, Walkers and Day care people using a google search. They will be licensed, insured and cheaper as they are not paying a percentage to Dog Buddy etc .. They will be there for you and your dog year after year and are the people you should develop a relationship with.
After Dog Buddy Response.
What makes you more qualified to assess peoples ability to care for dogs than Local Authority Trading Standards and Vets that issue the licences to legitimate Dog Home Boarders ?
A self complete questionnaire analysed by your inexperienced staff and no licence wont cut it !
A serious professional caring competent organisation would; require copies of licenses.. as a bare minimum.

Unimpressive, unreliable
Very unimpressed with this website.
Firstly, I booked a dog sitter and was charged £9 for a yearly fee. Just after I had booked this I was told that the fee structure had changed and I would get a discount off my next booking. My first booking it turned out was with an unlicensed and uninsured dog sitter....seems dog buddy don't do any basic checks around the legalities.
Secondly - when I was trying to book another sitter I kept getting pointed in the direction of people who weren't available. When I eventually found someone, they responded once but not again - so another rinky dink dog sitter (probably unlicensed and uninsured).
Thirdly - When I found out the booking was with an unlicensed dog sitter, I couldn't cancel the booking despite it saying on the web page that the booking was fully flexible.
I am still waiting on a response from them on all of this....I am not optimistic of a positive outcome.
Terrible website, just out to fleece dog owners.
