I live on the IOM getting parts can be a problem, I found the correct item, placed order and 2 days later the lifting table was back in service. when I have ordered from others in the past I'd still be waiting. Down time minimal it just does not get any better.
Huge product range
RS have a huge range of products and are very good at providing information and data sheets. Customer service is good and the returns process is easy.
I've dropped a star as the stock levels and lead times have become more of an issue. We considered the higher prices at RS to be a premium to pay for having stock available for next day delivery, but with the lead times, they have lost that edge.

Delivery did not arrive
We needed 2 items urgently, so ordered from RS and paid extra for pre 10:30. When not arrived, I used their tracking service that said items not despatched. I phoned, the person I spoke with was very nice and helpful, but I was unfortunately told that there had been some issue and I would not be receiving my parcel on the day. They have resent it and reimbursed the freight cost, which is all they can do. The situation has just let us down.

Extremely disappointed with RS
Extremely disappointed with RS. I have always relied on RS to get me urgent parts next day, for when I really need them. I placed an order with a pre-11 next day delivery, everything in stock. At 11, nothing had arrived, and on calling I was told that these were "special" items that couldn't be delivered next day! It's just connectors and switches, with no indication on the website that they were a special order. I'll be using Farnell next time.

Very Poor delivery Service
Original order 10/03/26 was lost by courier and replacement ordered 16/03/26 days later, it still took the courier 5 days to deliver the item.

Wrong size jacket
Thought I'd better have XL rather than just Large, but that wasn't in stock so ordered XXL. Found out, after I'd worn it, that what was actually supplied was XXXL !

Delivery Late, Tracking Not Working
Delivery date (20th March) missed and it was only via a phone call to customer services that I found out about a revised delivery date of 25th March.
The order tracking facility has had a fault for 4 days - so far as I know.

It has been coming for a number of years but now RS is fallen! (I jest not).
Try searching for "Pneumatic actuators" then using what few filter options are available to refine the search as below...
1st -PRODUCT TYPE - "Pneumatic Piston Rod Cylinders"
2nd PRODUCT TYPE - "Double Acting Cylinders"
You now have 1534 items to search through and the only filters available are BRAND, CABLE LENGTH and SERIES...
So what does this mean?
It means you go to a different website so you can find the item you need to purchase.
No doubt you will tell me I can call RS and they will sort this out for me and find the item I am looking for -and that's good - it means you want to put things right.
But this happens too often now - Perhaps there is insufficient data on the website? Perhaps the people employed to insert the data for your products know nothing about the products or their applications and have no idea what is vital information and what is not? Perhaps they just have insufficient time to do the job properly? Perhaps the website is no longer able to utilise the product data effectively?
Why is it often the case that when I use your 'compare function' it returns the same results for the products I compare even if they are same brand similar products?
This means I have to look up the data sheets myself and search through the small print to distinguish between different RS numbers to find which item is 24vAC PNP and which one is 24vDC PNP because RS hav'nt done it.
But all of these things used to work correctly on the website. Even when you only had the old RS cataloges we could find parts/components efficiently but now you have lost control of one of your USPs - we used to be able to find things quickly and efficiently at RS, they were in stock and we recieved them in 1 or 2 days time - this is what people want and they are willing to pay for it.
So then let us suppose I am just unlucky in my choices and the products I have searched recently have produced bad results; let us also suppose I was being melodramatic at the begining of this message to you - STILL - you can see what kind of frustration the website is capable of causing.
I prefer RS and have been using them for 27 years now. RS is still good - but not as good as they used to be.
