I like using voyages sncf

I find voyages sncf very useful on walking holidays in France....it's useful upon reaching a destination to take the train back to our accommodation, and then take the train to the next stage the next day!

nice and easy

we used this company for tickets from Madrid to Valencia and return. They offered different types of seats at great prices. We took the tourist plus which was absolutely fantastic. There were only a few seats reserved and it was a beautiful quiet easy going journey. There is a tea and coffee trolley comes round and I must admit I would recommend and buy any further tickets from this company. Easy to do on the internet and print your tickets. Great work

Understaffed and Not Enough Catering on Eurostar

We travelled back from Gard Du Nord to Paris 19.14 train on 18th September and there was only one person in the buffet bar. It took me 35 minutes to get served. By which time nearly all of the food and snacks had been sold. Very poor.

Trip to Aix en Provence

The trip was great. The only complaint was that the catering was really of a very low standard with frozen sandwhiches and very limted choice of food..As this was my first TGV trip I had expected better. On the homebound leg we brought our own food and drink and that was fine.

Terrific Travelling

Great way to travel through France. Relaxing journeys with helpful and friendly staff. Documentation arrived well in advance of our journey and time allowed to change trains was well built into the schedule.

Great service

This is the first time I have ever used Voyages SNCF, and was a little apprehensive about doing so, mainly because my French is quite basic. However, I found the website so easy to use. The value for money was fantatic! The fair prices are so reasonable compared to the uk, so much so, that we decided to upgrade to first class, which didn't cost much more, and made all the travelling relaxing. Excellent trains, so comfortable. The U.K. a could learn a lot about good rail services from SNCF.

first class travel experience

Trains were on time. Really comfortable seats and fast journey times. The only problem we had was the seats we had reserved did not exist as they didn't have the coach we were meant to be sitting in attached to the train! The ticket inspector did his best to explain and showed us where we could sit but these were unfortunately across a table and we had booked airline style seats.

Good Service from Booking to Train Journey but need more space for bikes!

Both my husband and I were very happy with the staff who dealt with our bookings here in the UK. Our train journey was very comfortable and punctual. The only problem we encountered as we were travelling with bicycles was that we were unable to book our bikes on any of the return trains from Avignon to Paris as they were all double deckers with no designated bike space. The only way we could get back was to dismantle the bikes, take them on as luggage and put them together again in Paris, a bit of a nightmare to say the least. If you could allocate space for bikes on these trains this would be a 5 star review!

Trains vg Stations not so

We travelled by TGV from Lille to Nantes return. The booking process was excellent. We received our tickets by post well in advance, with useful guidance on travelling by train in France. The trains were very comfortable and punctual and catering was pretty good.
But the stations! Lille Euro is an appalling building, which isn't even weatherproof! It's freezing cold, wet and windy inside. The catering is awful. As an Irish person, can I assure you that the name O'Conways does not exist and that is not an Irish pub. Why doesn't an international hub sell international papers? I don't think I could bear to return to Lille by train. Nantes station is better (could hardly be worse) but could still be improved by international papers, less brutalist concrete and better signage.
The SCNF staff were all polite, helpful and efficient.

Excellent knowledge and swift service

Lady knew all about the different options to our destination and suggested a completely different route than I'd been intending and this new route was far better. Fast service too.

A great way to see the Loire valley

We went to stay in Tours via the channel tunnel and TGV from Montparnasse Paris. The only bad bit of the trip was the queue for a Taxi at Gard Du Nord and the number of rogue very plausible taxis,I am used to Paris but my friends were almost taken in by them.Everyone at Tous station was helpful as we caught trains to Chinon,Azay -le-Rideau and Chenonceaux.
My husband and i are now planning our trip To Paris with a side trip to Versailles in November.
I do hope you can maintain your excellent service.

Fast and comfortable journey through France

The train was fast, comfortable, clean and offered a relaxing way to travel down to the Charente. €30 each way Lille to Angouleme represents very good value. The journey time was about 4 and a half hours. In reality neither air nor road can compete. Thoroughly recommended.

Train cancelled, VSL offered no compensation, then the minimum. V Poor.

Voyages SNCF is a ticket agent who supply tickets 'and nothing more'. Those are the words in their Ts and Cs which they quote when things go wrong. If you force them they will make a claim against the Carrier itself but they make it difficult and in my case the Carrier offered the minimum under EU law. I will take them to court to recover a reasonable settlement. Very poor service. I will never book with them again. Book with the train operator whenever you can. Eurostar are excellent, offer more than the minimum and do not quibble.
