Stunning journey
Great service. Easy to use. simple booking. Excellent train
Your emails are formatted too wide!
Great Experience
I really enjoyed my experience on the TGV from Lyon to Avignon. It was an absolute delight! The TER I took later was a little busier but I am not sure this can be helped!
Impressed with the Service
My wife and I booked with SNCF from St Pancras to Poitiers recently going via Paris. Although the Eurostar service from London into Paris was 50 minutes late we crossed Paris from the Gare Du Nord to the Gare Montparnasse via the Paris Metro to continue our journey south to Poitiers. Only just over an hour was permitted to make this journey but sadly we had missed our connection at Montparnasse where we found the staff extremely helpful enabling us to continue our journey on a later train. This and our return journey were excellent and on time. My wife and I would use this means of travel again and found it very relaxing and enjoyable having used air travel on previous occasions.
TGV trains in France
Having recently had the opportunity to visit France and use their amazing TGV transport system, I can quite honestly say that there was never a problem. Trains were extremely punctual and booking was effortless.
Cherbourg to Paris
Fast, clean comfortable. I didn't understand all the announcements which could have been a problem.
Recent travel
Very efficient service. Easy to book, tickets received within a few days by post or where we had to collect on route, good clear instructions and extremely simple. Definatley would use again and recommend to friends.
One train okay, one not
The train from Barcelona to Nimes was excellent. Clean and comfortable. The train from Nimes to Avignon was grubby and old. This was not a cheap trip and we expected a higher standard.
Going the extra mile!
Have just returned from a holiday in Austria. The outbound journey from Kings Cross St. Pancras to Salzburg (via Paris and Stuttgart) went very smoothly. Our return journey was rather more complicated as the day before our return Germany had closed the border to refugees. This resulted in all trains from Salzburg through Germany being cancelled. However, we boarded a train to Zurich (via Innsbruck) which was severely delayed, resulting in missed connections for our onward journey back to the UK. Staff at Zurich central station were wonderful and liaised with their counterparts in SNCF to arrange our onward travel. We were given fresh tickets to take us to Strasbourg where we were met by SNCF staff who arranged accommodation overnight, a choice of any onward train to Paris, the next morning, and even provided us with refreshments and vouchers for breakfast! When we arrived in Paris, another SNCF member of staff took us to the Eurostar office, explained our predicament and we were given replacement tickets for the very next departure on Eurostar. All of this was provided free of charge!! Everyone we dealt with on the SNCF staff was very pleasant and helpful.
Truly SNCF and their colleagues in the Railteam went the extra mile and turned what could have been a nightmare end to our holiday into a memorable journey home. Thank you so much.
P.S. - somehow I cannot imagine a similar result had the problems occurred in the UK (sadly!). If there was an award for the best rail company of the year it ought to go to SNCF!
What a great way to travel
Our trip down to Toulon from Ashford was very easy, comfortable and fast, spot on time, not much to add really.
Purchase on line
I try to buy the train ticket from Paris to Bayonne but the transection cannot go true why?
excellent
Useing this website and the service it provides you can travel anywhere knowing that you will get there on time
The ease of a 'Trainline' App for France!
I do a great deal of travel around and between the UK and France for business. The Voyages SNCF App works as easily as the Trainline App for the UK. With options on trains, prices easily compared and secure ability to purchase tickets in £'s. AND it is even easier to pick up your train tickets at SNCF ticket machines at every station in France, as you don't need the original bank card you used to obtain your ticket, just the booking reference. At mainline stations there are friendly SNCF staff available to help at the ticket machines who speak English if you struggle with your French! You won't need them.....as picking up the tickets is as easy as in England.
Well done Voyages SNCF!
Paris to Clermont Ferrand to Arvant
The train left on time and the facilities en bord were good with a friendly hostess serving coffee etc The train was smooth and reasonably quiet. The train arrived on time allowing me sufficient time to get my connection to Arvant The local train to Arvant was also on time and comfortable
All in all French Rail looked after me well
Interesting and will use it sometime, but have not to date
As I get older I dislike driving long distances, so this is helpful and infomative
Very Good. Tres Bien
Pretty impressed all round.
Easy to use website
Great offers
Email marketing is good - not loads of rubbish - just decent offers coming through in decent time intervals
The booking process is very good - click and collect tickets is simple for everyone :)
Disappointing trip.
I really looked forward to my first trip on a TGV. I went first class to ensure I experienced the best service. Apart from the comfortable seat there was no service at all. For the 3 hour journey at lunch time there was no restaurant carriage or trolley serving food of any kind. So whilst the train was fast and on time I have a better general experience at home in the UK.
Overall a very comfortable and enjoyable train journey
The only comment I have is that the metro from Gare du Nord to Gare de Lyon and reverse is very crowded. It is also annoying to have to get a ticket.
Nice alerts, frustrating online booking parameters.
It's great to be made aware of latest offers, but very frustrating to try and plan a trip, being unable to book far enough ahead. Impossible to include simple variables, such as a break in journey for a lunch stop, I would have thought the French would have thought of that!!!
Extremely disappointed
We are due a refund against some cancelled tickets from the beginning of 2015, and SNCF confirmed the refund amount at the beginning of August, and we refunded our client on the strength of this. However SNCF are now saying that there will be no refund payable as we hadn't returned the tickets, which is absolute nonsense as there's no way that SNCF would have known that we needed a refund if the tickets hadn't been returned.
So far we have been ignored by Customer Services & remain very dissatisfied.
