Disappointed

Prosec took over our previous alarm company with whom we had a contract that involved paying for a call out when we needed help. We were therefore unprepared when we discovered that we had signed up for a maintenance contract involving not only annual servicing, but replacement of parts, new batteries and free call out - a 'Gold Star' contract costing over £260 pa. When I queried this I discovered that we were tied up in this contract (we live in a small terrace house) for 3 years. The admin staff were helpful and said that they would reduce the cost so we now pay £132.78 pa. However, after the most recent annual visit from the maintenance engineer, we were sent the contract to sign and once again it said 'Gold Star'. I phoned the company and was told simply to change the amount on the contract to £83. I then wrote asking them to put in writing exactly what the contract covered and to include this new figure of £83. Once again a helpful member of admin staff explained that it was a mistake. Although our contract said Gold Star we had in fact only been charged £132.78 as previously agreed. The £83 was for a basic maintenance contract, but we were signed up for the 'standard' level of £132.78 till 2023. No one had explained these differences at the beginning. A basic maintenance agreement was all we would have needed. I feel there was a lack of clarity about the different contracts and a lack of attention to detail in subsequent paperwork. I would not recommend this company for a domestic alarm system

Good morning Mrs Bainbridge, I am sorry that you have felt let down by ukprosec. After looking through all the correspondence on your account, I have seen that we successfully answered all of your requests. Not only did we lower your price per year from £201.48 to £132.78 but we spoke to you on the phone and emailed you to explain and clarify the Terms and Conditions on the Contract that you yourself signed. The Terms and Conditions are on the back of the Contract for you to look through at your leisure. There was not a time limit for you to send back the Contract. The price of £132.78 is our lowest Cover plan which is known as Goldstar and it actually benefits you as you would not have to pay for a call out or a battery change. Batteries and parts can cost a considerable amount. If we wanted we could have charged you for both Contracts but of course we know that errors can occur and we as a company would like to treat our customers with respect. We did it as a gesture of goodwill as your 14 day cooling period had already passed. I hope this further clarifies the situation.

Great service throughout. Phoned on a whim after needing support with an alarm on a new house, and they sorted me fast and efficiently.

Pressure sales poor customer service ice

Always trying to sell you new batteries - flood your in inbox with emails or phone with messages. Actual guy that came is a decent bloke. They still owe me over £20 from a phone call with a staff member when i first booked an appt after moving in. He kept me talking and talking about travelling and my bill racked up. Pressure sales and threats of voiding my home insurance if i dont continue with them. Would not recommend

Good morning, thank you for taking the time to review ukprosec.com. We value every customer and how they interpret our service.
As a company we suggest changing the battery every 2-3 years to keep up the functionality of the system. We noticed that you did not have a service 2017-2019 and we would have contacted you via phone and email through that time to book appointments and services to keep the alarm up to the correct standard. We apologise if the contact seems overbearing. As for the information about home insurance - this is through courtesy as unfortunately we have come across an instance where a customer decided not service the alarm and the home insurance did not cover them. We would not want that to happen again so we give every customer the information and remind them to check their policy terms and conditions.
I hope this clears everything up for you.

Good service

The gentleman that serviced my house alarm came from up north. He has come before and I am always happy that he attends as he knows what he is doing, is very affable and answers any queries I may have. Always get good service from Prosec in this respect.

Regular Service and new box

Engineer arrived at 16:15 on Friday afternoon later than expected and completed a service and installed a new outside box. On Sunday morning the alarm was off, but triggered unexpectedly when I walked past a sensor at 07:15. Called the emergency number for advice and an engineer was due to visit at 11:00. Unfortunately due to snowy weather conditions the visit was abandoned. On Monday afternoon an engineer arrived and rectified the problem. The follow up support proved very successful.

Routine visit to maintain a domestic security alarm.

Prosec arranged with me the time and date for their engineer to call. He was, I think, a little early after a long journey. The weather was terrible, snow had fallen overnight. The engineer had left his car at the far end of the road and walked to the house in case he could not reverse out again. He was cheerful, polite, friendly, efficient and professional. He left to cautiously walk back up the slope carrying his heavy bag.

Domestic House Alarm

I would recommend this company for both installing and maintenance of House Alarm systems.
I have the Gold Star Maintenance Package.
They are quick to respond to a fault, and sort it out without any problems.
My local engineer Tony has been servicing my house alarm for a number of years. He does a great job. Thank you Tony

Polite and professional service

We had very good service when we had our annual check up. One of the sensors had to be decommissioned and was all done quickly and safely.
Unfortunately due to the new layout of our house they sensors did not tie up properly with the labels. Once the engineer left we realised the wrong sensor was deactivated, this was not a problem,
an engineer was sent out very quickly to rectify. Excellent service and both the engineers were polite and friendly.

Very efficient maintenance and fault fixing.

During the maintenance found a fault which was difficult to identify. It took two further visits, eventually replacing two valves and the heating controller.
UKPROSEC gave the necessary authority to carry out this work to enable the engineer to fix the fault quickly.

Awful service

Awful service, my alarm was beeping for 5 weeks at my salon it was like torture, I called leaving messages Numerous times no one returned calls, when I Eventually spoke to technician he was rude and told me he was doing me a favour by calling on a Friday and that I should get a ladder and disconnect it my self!
I called 5 times in one day they kept saying “ I’ll call you back in 10 mins” no one called I had to get really angry for someone to actually do something!!
we could not carry on with this noise.
Eventually they sent a technician out.

Good morning, firstly I would like to apologise that you feel that as a customer you were not looked after.
Last year was an extremely tricky year for everyone and we replied to customers as swiftly as we could given the circumstances. When you had a service it was suggested that your system needed an upgrade - that the panel was very old and could malfunction. It was very unfortunate that you had not decided to take the engineers advice as this would have ensured the alarm was up to date and functioning correctly.
Our engineer explained to you on how to disconnect the alarm to give you a rest bite - anyone would find constant beeping torturous, if his was misinterpreted as rude, again I apologise.
