Cumbersome and misleading ordering and payment process.

Very unclear and complicated payment process with regards to membership rebate and final amount to pay as to shipment cost. Was forced to pay for membership in the process as a single transaction and was thrown out of the online purchase process after having completed the membership payment. Very unlear membership cancellation rules and impacts.

UllaKulla has asked for more details regarding this case:

After having chosen items and accepted membership upgrade to get additional discount and proceding to payment, a total invoice is presented which does not include shipment cost. As the next step is payment of the invoiced amount, you are confident that shipment is free of charge and that you, by proceding to payment will pay the amount displayed on the invoice shown on the screen. This does not happen when you click on Payment as you are directly transferred to payment of the membership amount of 14 DKK. Having proceeded with this payment, the previous invoice window has disappeared -total blank, no way to get back to the original order I was about to go ahead with. I have paid 14 DKK for nothing and getting quite anxious that this fraud and my CC details have been compromised.
I log back in to UllaKulla, reselect the items I want to purchase, get the membership discount but this time I get the shipment cost added, 108 DKK. I feel totally misinformed throughout this process and cannot understand this is a legal way to conduct pricing and payment.
Membership:
Gold Membership is priced at DKK 14 (for 5 days.. what does that mean in reality?) Only in the payment process you are informed that every 28 days you will be charged 98 DKK for membership. Open cancellation of membership 5 days prior to be effected. Will I still be able to cancel my membership before the next 98 DKK priced 28-day period will take effect?? This is not clear!
From what I thought was a final invoice with a final amount, the reality now seems to be an additional 109 DKK shipment and possibly 98 DKK forced membership payment. I did ask for the membership to be cancelle immedeately after the payment so we will see the result of this....

There is no forced membership signup anywhere on our sites. We do however offer this for an added discount (which you clearly happily received upon placing your order), and the process of signing up, is separate to the purchasing of our products, to provide even more clear information about firstly the membership, what it cost and what advantages you receive. Following that, a customer (now member) and clearly utilise said membership, and shop at a significant discount on all +265.000 products.

We welcome any feedback to e.g. the 'cancellation rules and impacts', to which we can better this service and process in the future ; so feel free to reach out and let us know at any time. It is however always easy to unsubscribe, manually via our helpcenter or directly via email, phone or even direct LiveChat services.

I do not know who this company is so I…

I do not know who this company is so I Googled it and was shocked that they even have a website. However, out of the blue I noticed a charge for £39.95 coming out of my account. I have never bought anything from them and I honestly don’t know how I was even charged for a membership fee of £39.95. When I asked them to cancel my subscription they did that promptly, but refused to offer me a refund for something I had not signed for or agreed to. I was very upset at the way Freya dealt with my request. She told me I should have given them reasonable notice in order for the refund to be processed! Then I noticed that so many people on TrustPilot had the same problem being billed for membership they hadn’t agreed to. Not sure how or why some get refunded and others don’t. Seems like a lackadaisical way of dealing with customers. I wrote an email to my Banks Fraud Team, MP and the Complaints department at The Department for Business and Trade and explained the issue and still waiting for a reply. But this level of dishonesty and thievery from Ullakulla is totally unacceptable and I’m shocked at their dishonesty. I certainly do not want to receive any further correspondence from this company or have anything to do with them. I wanted to give them a zero on the review section but was forced to give them a 1. My advice to the public is to stay clear and avoid them at all costs. I have asked to have my reimbursement reviews by their Manager, but I’m guessing they’ll wriggle out of this as well. Dreadful business ethics! I’m hoping they have a change of heart for the sake of principle and refund me my £39.95. Let’s see what happens!

Reply followed my complaint and the company are adamant in their convictions that as a Gold Member I do not or should not expect any reimbursement. They must have knowledge of the product I purchased in order to fix an unwanted membership round my neck. I have no knowledge of dealing with Ullakulla and certainly bought nothing from them. I hope Ullakulla goes bankrupt because their business ethics are unsound and unprofessional!

UllaKulla.co.uk will not refund a GOLD Membership without prior notice of termination. This is because once you are a member you can make immediate use of our services, utilize the 15% discount, take part in raffles etc. If you do not cancel your membership within the trial period UllaKulla.co.uk will assume that you are interested in continuing as a GOLD member and your membership will be renewed automatically.

AVOID

AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! hate that I had to give them 1 star! As I wouldn’t have even done that! Absolutely shocking company! Signed me up for a gold membership! Somehow had countless charges on my bank account and what I ordered didn’t even turn up! Have my bank fraud department looking into it now as this shocking company refuses to accept their wrong doing!

Total scam

Total scam. I supposedly “won” a Mercedes jacket for £6.99. Only to find I had signed up,for a subscription costing £36 per month! The subscription has been cancelled now but they refuse to refund the £6.99 and guess what… no sign of the Mercedes jacket which was supposed to arrive in 5~7 days!

Total scam

Total scam, they were posing as PMT selling a Marshall amplifier, they took my money and said it was a subscription and won’t refund it. Just seen the same advert and they are now posing as Argos. Keep well away from them.

Hidden Sunscription!!

I was not aware by purchasing a knife set that I had signed up for a monthly £35 subscription. This company is robbing customers so please be warned.
Also, you have to contact them directly to unsubscribe and they will not refund any payments already made!!
Cheap ended up very expensive in the long run!!!

3-5 business days became 3 week for delivery. I had to chase them or I believe my order would still be sat in the forwarder's warehouse in Holland. Also, beware of signing up for paid membership without realising you have done it. I found that quite underhand

I see that your order was shipped with local postal services from our warehouses, which often offers little to no tracking and can sometimes be delayed due to both customs as well as slow delays in general couriers of that sort. The option is an ECO friendly solution, which the customer selects themselves, as they are not part of our standard options presented upon checkout.
We agree that the information about delivery dates, might as such seem a bit deficient for some deliveries, which we have note and will update accordingly, to avoid future confusion when selecting this options.

We apologies for the late delivery and hope that the order was to your satisfaction nonetheless.

If I could give them no stars I would.

I believed I had won a phone and was asked to pay £2 for the delivery which I did only to have £35.95 taken from my account a couple of days later, straight away I emailed them to say I wanted my money back, they responded saying ‘ I would like to remind you that UllaKulla.co.uk do not reimburse GOLD membership if we haven't received prior notice of cancellation.
Renewal occurs only when a trial period expires and we have not received prior notice of cancellation. A prepaid membership is not refundable since you get access to the service immediately after registration.’

Well I sent more messages asking for a refund and even provided them with their T&Cs
7. Right of Cancellation
If you cancel your subscription, you will get your money back. You may cancel your subscription if you have not used it within 14 days.
We will refund the amount to you without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day we have been notified that you wish to cancel the agreement. We will refund the money with the same means of payment that you used at the time of purchase, unless otherwise agreed.

Also advised that I have not used your service
I did not knowingly enter into a subscription
I paid £2 delivery charge believing it was for postage costs for a phone I had won
I want a full refund of the funds taken from me and/or the phone
No where does the above terms specify what type of subscription it covers so I take that to include the subscription you entered me into unknowingly

They then refunded me the full amount.

I originally paid £2.50 for postage for…

I originally paid £2.50 for postage for an item, which I never received. To then be told that it's every 30th payment who will be lucky enough to get this. I found this out after they took £39.55 straight out of my account for a service, that I never knew I was signing up for. I have asked numerous times for this to be refunded, which most companies would honour as I have not and have no intention of using. This is really unfair and a very underhand way of doing business and treating customers. It has been a complete waste of my time and an even worse way of taking money from people. The replies I've had have been very blunt and unhelpful. I still would like this refunded. Wouldn't mind so much if the item, that I paid postage for had arrived. This is basically a trick and and very scammy way of obtaining cash and I'm very disappointed. My advice would be to steer clear. All the best.

The campaign in question clearly states the terms of said signup, which includes your participation in a competition to win a perfume gift set, whilst receiving a trial membership at our shop for 3 days. The membership in question is a Gold Membership to which you receive multiple features and advantages, when shopping with us, including 15% on all +230.000 items in our catalogue.

The membership was correctly charged to your account, as the trial ran out. Prior to this you have received numerous emails / information regarding your signup, your membership and your charge upon completing your free trial.

You reference a 'faulty product' despite the issue from your end being that your did not read the clear information about having to add a UK plug to your order, as the item ordered is made originally for the EU.
We understand that despite you not being able to read the general information from popups and specifications on the product pages, before purchasing the product at hand, our Customer Service was so kind as to quickly refund a "considerable amount of money" for what a UK plug is equal to, so you can plug in your device.

We are obviously not a UK placed company, which we openly describe in any and all information, on our pages, our emails, our terms and conditions and everything else we do. Our main offices are located in Denmark, but our warehouses spand from Denmark, to the UK and all the way over to Canada and the US.

Update to Bad Review and Customer Service

I recently wrote a bad review for customer service help on Ullakulla, as I felt I'd been wrongly charged a membership fee. I'm pleased to say that this company has now come back to me, to offer the refund I felt I WAS DUE, so I think it only fair to say that their service representative did his best to activate this refund for me. I shall await the arrival into my Bank Account.............

I do not recommend.
I bought 2 bags and after I paid, I noticed a lot of complaints on the internet. I called to cancel the purchase and the person who helped me was very rude. Saying I should contact via email. However, the email I received after making the purchase could not be answered.

I called to find out which email I should write to and the woman who answered the phone was probably having a bad day because she was totally rude and hung up the phone... I called again and she just turned the phone back on, after 3 more attempts , she answered and I immediately explained that I just wanted the email ! Anyway she sent me the email, I canceled the purchase but only after 11 days my money that was pending was released.

Rate stores that treat the customer like they are trash, because they just want the money and then don't want to solve the problem in a polite way.

I don't spend a penny at this store, just for the customer service.

Unfortunately, I can't prove how the phone conversation went, but I can prove my purchase, which I canceled.
The site reported my review saying it is not true (which doesn't surprise me, they don't want a USEFUL recommendation, to a HORROROUS service

Obviously we do apologise if our phone support seemed to have wronged you. However the supporter tells us otherwise and that you were agitated and would not listen to her simply informing you that she was not able to help you directly, as this was a claims / cancel case, which is handled by our claims department accordingly.

Facebook channel and phone support are only for product consulting and general questions. This was also the first thing you were informed when calling our phone support, and that you should direct your case to the claims department (written support), which would handle the case within 24h, swift and on time.

The contact address can always be found on our main page within the contact area or in the automated email notifications we send upon placing the order.

We have checked your email correspondence with our agent, and we see that it was answered within the 24 hours deadline and your order was cancelled accordingly on November 10.

As such nothing was charged to your card.
Any reservation should be back to your card in the following days depending on your bank and card type and not on us as a merchant.

Usually this process takes up to 5 business days, but we would recommend you to check with your bank for details.

We are glad that Marcus was able to help you as needed, which is hi / their job, and thus the case is closed in our end and we hope that you have a lovely day.

SCAMMERS!!! PLEASE AVOID DO NOT USE, THEY WILL ROB YOU!!! Couldn't put 0 stars, they hide behind adverts for other things, you think you are paying postage for something else! Next u know, money's going out of your bank!!! I'm lucky I reported it and got my money back from fraud ever though they tried to deny it showing evidence etc except I'm in Scotland not America which they'd for my address as and couple other things!! Also I has evidence too I've been scammed before so I also screenshot everything!!! Plus if I joined you, we're is the gift I was meant to receive? AVOID AT All COSTS!!!! To your reply. I did not wilingly sign up thankyou! i thought i was paying postage for a prize from currys! yu hide behind things , only once i had payed did i find out what you had done! i would not have signed up to your company, you have nothing of interest to me , also when i went on a link of yours it was flagged as a scam !!

Absolutely awful do not use

The 'Estimated Import Fee' is actually listed on the product page directly, where we calculate the total for you (feel free to go look for your self), as well as warnings throughout the entire checkout process (including warehouse information marked with very clear red text labelled 'IMPORTANT INFORMATION').
That you failed to see these notes about possible import fees / customs duty, is regrettable.
