Refunded

Hi,
As many others I pre paid a hotel stay but was told they went bankrupt so I submitted refund request and yesterday they wrote me an email asking for bank account details. Today I have checked my account, money is there. So, even though I had to wait months, I have been refunded.

Still waiting for refund

Along with most others on this site, I pre paid a hotel stay but was told they went bankrupt. My booking was cancelled (it was placed via Expedia of all vendors). Submitted refund request in August 2021, STILL WAITING.
Can’t do a chargeback due to it being over 90 days.
Lesson learnt.

Trying to get a refund desperately...

I had bought a super saver package for Bangkok in Dec. 2020 that I could use during the next 24 months and never received a message that the company had to close down. I just realized it happened when trying to see what was available. Even though they claim they would refund everyone, I have fulfilled the form of the site but received no answer so far. I hope my bank will find a solution. There is a group on Facebook with people having the same problems...

I just saw this on the Unsold.com website. Also a friend of mine who bought a package from Unsold just received her money back so it looks like we will hopefully get it.

Updated 12/15/2021

Unsold.com has already refunded a large percentage of our customers. We would like to inform you that we hope to have everyone refunded in the next 90 days. We are 100% committed to refunding all customers and will deliver on that promise. We appreciate your continued patience during these unprecedented times of the pandemic and will process your refund as soon as possible coming up.

We regret to inform you that despite all efforts, Unsold.com has been forced to cease normal business operations effective immediately and has had to cancel all future travel reservation(s).

Like so many others, our business has succumbed to the unrelenting effects of COVID-19, including the new delta variant that continues to wreak havoc on the travel industry. Extended government-imposed travel restrictions and additional lockdown requirements, hotel closures, rising fulfillment costs, and massive cancellations have resulted in exorbitant unforeseen costs. These factors have made it impossible for Unsold.com to continue normal operations.

The real cost of COVID-19 in the world is very high. Like so many around the world, the Unsold.com family too has suffered from the loss of life and livelihoods; with the final blow being to those who trusted us with their travel plans, our clients.

We are working with our suppliers to attempt to lessen the negative impact of our business closure on your future travel plans. Please contact your hotel or accommodations provider directly for information related to any pending reservation(s) you may have.

Our team is striving to refund all customers that we can over time. Refunds will be processed in the order they are received here

I bought a voucher in June for a supposed Sydney trip in July, but I have to cancel because of the lockdown, I able to do so and I'm allowed to use it on a different trip, I just remembered to use it now but the website is not available, I did not receive any email to inform me about them closing down, I emailed their support but it doesn't go through anymore. Looks like they took off with our money. Paid $366.09

Scammed by unsold - but recovered via card provider

Although unsold was a scam that ripped me of 2 prepaid trips and bankrupted days before my planned stay - beforehand not even offering available places on 1st week of August 2021, so definitely planned - I am grateful to VISA - my credit card provider. I made a complaint there and in my November statement I can see the paid amounts recovered. Well done, VISA. I encourage all clients scammed by unsold.com to complain with their credit card company.

Scammed

Scammed - went today to check on taking up my paid for booking in 2020 (locally in Austral) to take it up in 2022 (to be within the two year timeframe) and found they have gone out of business and when you click on the refund query button no site exists. The same as everyone else. Would be good to sign on to any class action?

Unsold.com is dishonest business

Same as most of the situations here, I bought a week hotel package which costs 500 dollars. I just realised the website shut down permanently when I tried to redeem the package few weeks ago. I never received any notice from Unsold.com before that. I also applied for a restitution, but haven’t received any response for few weeks. Money loss💸and Lessons learned.

SCAM!

I booked and paid for a trip to paris in April 2022. Just received an email today from Unsold, to say they have gone bust. I contacted the hotel. They said the reservation was cancelled on 4th August by Jactravel. I was never informed of this and don't know this company, who is owned by Webbeds. I can't seem to get any information from these companies either. It's disappointing and infuriating, but made me determined to not let it happen again!

Definitely it is a scam website

Definitely it is a scam website. I called the hotel which I booked by Unsold. The hotel told me Unsold booked it before but cancelled my reservation on October without sending me any email or message. And the hotel also told me Unsold didn't pay for them any money. The hotel is waiting for clients paying for the money which never low like Unsold advertised. I should choose Jetstar or other reliable agencies. It is a big lesson that never trust any advertisement which using lower price to attract you.

Scam

Like all others, I filed for refund but do not expect any. To begin with, the whole business model of Unsold.com was based on taking advantage of the Covid pandemic so it sounds illogical that they would now blame the pandemic for their downfall. It appears to be a scam from the get go, and I am very much willing to join in any legal action against the owners.

Based on what I read below

Based on what I read below, I contacted BookVIP.com to be told categorically, they do not have any affiliation with Unsold.com and are unable to help. This appears to contradict other reviewers who have had success in getting a refund.
I have completed the form on the so called 'restitutions' link: but don't expect to get a result.
I would be interested in joining in a UK Class Action using 'Watchdog' were that to get off the ground. Please keep me informed
