Disrespectful Scam Artists

After a deep research about this company, I found out that these people are scammers. I highly advise you guys to be careful & refrain from doing business with these scam artists.

The owner of this company has been harassing me with dozens of calls which I have proof of.

Their positive reviews are from their own employees & owner himself. The owner is disrespectful & he doesn't know that he's dealing with an FBI agent who has all of his information after some research & investigation.

Oscar scheduled for a technician to come out to repair my mother's washer today, Wednesday January 22nd between the hours of 1-4PM. I've been calling several times throughout the day but no response.

Finally got a hold of David & he told me that he will reach out to the technician to find out what's going on & will keep me updated. I waited over 30 minutes for him to call me back & he didn't.

I called them multiple times & asked to speak to a manager. The manager told me that the technician got into a huge car accident & was being rushed to the emergency room so they have to reschedule my appointment.

They waited over 1.5 hours to tell me this? Ridiculous. I took a day off of work & missed out on an entire day's pay just for them to come out just for them to do this.

I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Very unprofessional

Very unprofessional, tried to sell us more parts than needed. Another company came and fixed our oven perfectly and did not try to rip us off. The person that came did nothing, just looked at the oven and his phone and said we needed to replace the sensor and the entire control board. The new company replaced the sensor and our oven works fine now. Stay away from this company.

So where to begin

So where to begin. I wish I never called this company. I am not one to leave a bad review at all but this company made me so mad. They took advantage of my 65 year old mother. her refrigerator stoped working, we call this company and they tell my mother it’s a Freon leak and try to sell her a 50/50 repair for 250 dollars when they know it’s leaking! Then they take her money and leave without giving my mother her change back for the diagnostic and worse of all don’t give her any printout of the diagnostic on what’s going on. Very unprofessional. My mother called them three times with no answer. but when I called them with my cell they answered right away. Wow. Fresh victims huh? It took me 20 minutes of arguing to get the results of the fake diagnostic. Now I have to pay for a real company to come out. Despicable and they should be ashamed. please don’t be a victim.

The tech said that our dryer needed a…

The tech said that our dryer needed a new part and it would cost $500. When I called Upper Appliance to move forward with the work, I asked if I could send a check for payment. The guy on the phone didn't know the address to send it to. I called back two other times and I got two different addresses. Red flag. Also, every review on their website is 5 stars. Red flag. It was difficult to get a straight answer to simple questions.

I got a second opinion from another appliance repair company, and they said the part was not broken, it was simply that the vent on the outside of my house didn't open correctly. My dryer started to work and the issue was resolved.
Upper Appliance said I needed a new part - but come to find out, there wasn't a broken part of my dryer and I would have been out the $500.

Cheating company, poor quality

My GE Refrigerator defrost heater broke. The technician Nick from Upper Appliance charged me $400 to replace the defrost heater. The part only costs $13 from Amazon. His replacement part broke in less than 3 months. For $400 paid to Upper Appliance, the repair only worked for 3 months. What a cheat!!!

🚨‼️🚨🚨🚨‼️‼️🚩🚩🚩🚩 I am rating one star…

🚨‼️🚨🚨🚨‼️‼️🚩🚩🚩🚩 I am rating one star because ZERO is not an option. This was the worst company I have ever called to come and fix my dishwasher. They came and gave me an estimate of $650.00 to replace the broken part; they said they would return to install it in 5 days. After the 5 days were up, the technician came back and spent 4 hours at my house. No judgment but he did not speak a word of English. I called the Center and they said the part came wrong and that a replacement would arrive in 3 days... Today, after 3 whole weeks, he returned and didn't fix my machine after hours on FaceTime. He couldn't even put the machine back together. Stripped the screws so bad and broke other pieces. I called his Supervisor and his answer was this, “I'll only give you 1/4 of the deposit back and you can find another company.” I still have not received my refund. Unfortunately, there are few honest people left in the world. I fell for their scam and in the end I lost my dishwasher. I’ll have to spend even more $$$$ on a new machine. I don't usually write reviews but I don't want them to do this to other people. I don't think he's a technician at all and this company is a SCAM.

BUYER BEWARE!!!

BUYER BEWARE!!!! These people are crooks!!! I needed work on some commercial refrigerators. They came buy and tried to scam me but if $800... The repair man could hardly speak English "THAT'S THE FIRST RED FLAG" He looked at my refrigerators and tempted them with an infrared gun and act like the was the accurate temperature... He didn't check anything on the unit, but he quickly told me that my units all needed freon... "ALL THREE UNITS WAS THE SECOND RED FLAG AFTER NOT CHECKING ANYTHING " ... After everything they tried to con me and tried to charge me a separate services charge each refrigerator 3 of them.. " HOW MAN MORE RED FLAGS DO YOU NEED????" I wanted to test them. I asked them is it a warranty. I got a fast NO... I called another company and had them do the work l. To no surprise neither of the units needed freon... It's a shame they just thought I was going to give them $800 without a warranty and at the least $300 in service charges... That could be their hustle. Just make money on service charges...IJS

One star is one star too much

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Upper Appliance seeking to repair my Fridge.

Their technician made 4 visits to my house. The first visit was to assess the problem, the following 2 visits were to install a spare part. The technician brought the wrong spare part first and then on his third visit came with another part with a different part number (again). He told me it was a good replacement and promised that it will work - which it didn't. With the multiple failures, I then asked them to put everything back as it was and this was their last visit which I had to reschedule twice in order for them to honor their appointment.

The technician who came had limited English proficiency, forcing us to rely on Google Translate for communication. Several appointments were not kept by him, with the company citing car breakdowns as the reason. One appointment was dye at 6pm and the technician showed up at 9:30pm.

I had to make more than 10 calls over more than a week in order to be issued refund for the spare part that did not work and ended up still paying for a failed service attempt.

This experience was far from what one would expect from a reliable repair provider. The combination of technical incompetence, communication barriers, scheduling issues, and refund difficulties made this one of the worse ever experiences I had. I will avoid this company at all costs in the future.

Not trustworthy

March 28, 2024 Upper appliance came to my home to check why my ice maker stopped working. I was told my compressor needed to be replaced. The refrigerator is over 5 years so the Samsung warranty no longer covers the compressor. I was told the part was 400 or so and the labor was 400 or so and the refrigerant was 400 or so. The total was $1253. I know that is a lot for a repair, but I paid over $3500 for the Samsung familyhub in 2018. I paid a $500 deposit and the tech returned a couple days later with the part. The part was installed and the refrigerant also. For the next 3 or 4 days the smell of "freon" or some other gas like smell took over my kitchen, getting worse each day. On I believe March 31 (Monday) I called Upper Appliance to ask if the smell was normal. I was told that it is a small kitchen and the smell would improve. In another 5 to 7 days the smell was gone. In mid May, the fridge stopped making ice again. It took me 3 weeks of calling and leaving messages to get an answer. This was after I called from a different number. I was blown off for the next several weeks and finally told the warranty was only for 90 on the compressor and I would have to pay for a new visit and new parts. I refuse to do this because I began calling well before the 90 days. I want a full refund but my calls are not returned or answered sine the rude "manager" told me to pay. Funny how on their website it says ALL major repairs warranty for 1 year!

Had a squeaking noise on the dryer

Had a squeaking noise on the dryer. Repairman comes out, says it needs a new belt, supposedly put a new belt on and left. Bottom panel jutting out and not installed properly. Started to dry clothes but had no heat. Called company and was told the repairman will be coming back. He shows up the next morning and reattaches the plug for the heating element. He still doesn’t install the bottom panel correctly as it sticks out about 3/4” away from the rest of the machine. Squeaking noise persists. My wife calls a different company. He comes out, diagnoses the problem. He puts a new belt on and new rollers that come in a kit. He puts the machine back together how it’s supposed to be and bottom panel now aligns with the rest of the machine.
Upper Appliance cannot be recommended.
You have been warned.
